Goblin Bomb Card Review
As much as I think that Boommaster Flark has some potential, I wouldn’t say the same thing about this card. It would be so much better if it had Magnetic, but without it, it doesn’t look good. It’s a 0/2 Mech for 1 mana, so it can’t attack, and its only selling point is dealing 2 damage on Deathrattle. Unless you run a full face deck, dealing 2 damage in the early game is mostly irrelevant, board control is much more important. So what that you deal some damage if you can’t trade into your opponent’s stuff and he gets ahead, overwhelms you and wins the game anyway? That’s the basic story of this card. You need to activate it, but even if you do, it’s not impressive. Like, Dragon Egg was a good 1-drop with 0/2 stats, because activating it actually mattered – you often got 1 or 2 extra 2/1’s to fight for the board (OR deal damage).
If not for the Mech tag, Leper Gnome is just better right now. It doesn’t need to be activated and it can actually trade into something. And Leper Gnome is still a bad card after the old nerf (it used to be 2/1 if some of you didn’t play back then). Mech Tag means that minions can Magnetize into it… and maybe it activates some buffs, like Faithful Lumi… but the body is still pretty weak. I just don’t see how dropping this on Turn 1 could help with winning the game. The only way for this to be playable is if we get some 2 mana Magnetic or Mech-buff card, so it can at least attack. And even then, the 0/2 stats aren’t exactly thrilling, same goes for the effect.

This is exactly the kind of card I build a deck entirely around, because I am a meme deckcrafter, and Disguised Toast is my inspiration. I’ve had a combo deck planned for this ever since it was revealed.

Yeah I think we will just have to wait for this card, although leper gnome does have the attack I can still say dealing damage to face is always valuable. At the very least with cards like Boommaster Flark you are dealing directly 8 damage to face. I’m just gonna wait and see on this card
Leper Gnome out classes this in every way. The Globin Bombs deathratttle should have been deal 3 damage not 2 because as is there is no reason to run this over Leper Gnome despite the mech tag.
Great concept, bad decisions. Making an egg-like mech would be HUGE – imagine a tribe synergy activator that the enemy does not want to remove because of the deathrattles. Similarly, silencing it would not remove the tribe tag, so silence+removal would be the only option, which is a load of resources for a 0/2.
Sounds good, doesn’t work. 2 face damage is all but neglectable. Only in agressive mech hunter would this have a place, but playing a 0/2 is just abysmal, even if you magnetise it (which obviously was the intent). Needs to be 0 mana, or have a stronger effect – I might consider it if it did 3 face damage, or did AoE, or gave me some value back, or if Mechwarper was a thing, but as it stands now, this needs a buff to work.
Essential card for any mech deck. People giving it a low rating are clueless.
An IDEAL turn 5 with this is Goblin Bomb, Spider Bomb, play dead. Is 5 mana for a 2/4 deal 2 damage to an enemy and destroy a random enemy minion good? It’s not bad, especially if it escapes silence or transform and can trigger again. I’m not hating these deathrattles. It’s going to be FUN

Why do I get a sinking feeling that Hunter’s Legendary Spell (assuming they’re getting one) will be something based on the number of Goblin Bombs played this game… I mean, why else would you print this as a collectible alongside Flark?
I guess there could be some shenanigans in Wild with Rivendare and Feign Death.
So summoned from the Hunter Legendary these tokens are good. But as a collectible card? I don’t think so. Sure, you have Magnetic synergies, so there’s that. But attaching an aggressive Deathrattle to a non-offensive stat distribution just feels bad. 0-attack hurts A LOT. For defensive measures Wax Elemental is much better, for aggresive measures Leper Gnome outclasses this. I would also not mind getting this as fluff from the “Discover a Mech” spell from Warrior. But I don’t think I’d ever put this card into my deck. 1/5 stars.
I can tell you why it isn’t magnetic. What is worse than havin a 0/2 egg. Well obviously having a 0/4 egg. you want this to die otherwise its not that great. And since baku hunter plays emerald reaver just for the 1 face dmg. This 1 drop can give your 3 drop magnetic mechs charge. So its something your oponent can’t ignore. the 5/5 magnetic and this makes a preeety fat 6 drop. 5/7 especially if it stuck on the board.
So just make the math 2 of those bombs = 4 face dmg + 8 face dmg with the legendary + baku hero power = a very fast deck. I mean baku hunter has a lot of burst dmg but a lot of dead cards. So the baku mechs work wonders for hunters. you wil llose kil lcomands though or they will do 3 dmg most of the times. But still not bad. Just few great magnetics like the wargear and the deck is very good.
+ leeroy and maybe + 2 lepper gnomes and considering the other stuff thats like 22 dmg without the hero power with just those cards . And you can play leeroy on curve since the 2 drago nwelps can help your unleash kil lcommands. I don’t see warlocks tapping againts baku hunter. And its like free cards. Lets see if you ar ebrave enough to activate this 😀
Why didn’t they make it magnetic? That would make it interesting
Hey, guys, you know with the new Dr Boom, this will have rush, so you’d be able to attack right away and gets it’s deathrattle!6/5 stars! Plus you can can use it as removal for the enemy board (with rush) and just punch things with its…. WHAT 0 ATTACK!?!?
Also this makes the new Warrior discover card a little worse, because there’s no way you what this to be one of the three you get with it’s Omega effect- the plus side is that if this ends up in your hand, it should be easy to play it out, and you can magnetize onto it

maybe there just need to be some bad cards so you don’t always get a good mech with the hero power of the new Dr. Boom and other discover mechs/get random mech cards?

Mech tag is good, especially considering magnetic cards, but there’s not really any good magnet cards on 2. Your openly could just kill this for free with a 1 or 2 drop

Leper Gnome saw good aggro play when it was a 2/1. This is potentially better once magnetized, and will likely stick on turn one. Deserves a more serious look.
the hope is that it will stick, but any experienced, or even slightly experienced player will kill it instantly, you swing into it and it doesn’t dmg back, its free value to just smack it, leaving very little opportunity for you to get “charge” for your next mech…. on the play t1 this, t2 if there is a magnetic t2? any turn after that its just killed for free
It is nice to have a one mana mech that should be able to stick around for a turn or two, but it isn’t anything that impressive.
If it does see play, it’ll be for it being a cheap magnetic target, which Upgradable Framebot should be able to do better than this anyway.
