Meh. Sounds Cool, but I just feel you should go Token Druid instead. Don’t get me wrong, this can be great refill, but so is Forest’s Aid. I don’t know, maybe I’m being too Harsh on it. 3 Stars.
An interesting hybrid of Living Mana + Wispering Woods. Druids still have a lot of good buffs and cards for token strategies and I suspect this will be run if Token Druid continues to be good. It also costs 5 which is a nice for a big swing with Anubisath Defenders.
I don’t get it.. Mage is trying to be no minion mage while druid is trying to.. Do pretty much the same?
Don’t get me wrong I love that archetype, no minion hunter was amazing but why are both mage and druid doing the same?
Good question I have been asking myself the exact same question.
Works really well with a lot of spells that will stay standard after the rotation: Crystalsong Portal, Power of the Wild, Blessing of the Ancients and Secure the Deck (specifically the 3 Claws).
Even goes well with minions like Keeper Stalladris, Garden Gnome, and Anubisath Defender.
Not all of these cards have seen competitive play, but this could be something useful for token Druid
Looks like an interesting card and if druid can get more spell card generation even better.
On the surface it kinda looks like a merged card of whispering woods and living mana but it`s actually worse. There is not enough druid spells as of yet to suport this. Even if you run this in token druid there will be far more minions in your deck than spells. So far this is not better than a 3 star card maybe 3.5
Actually no, there are more spells in token druid decks than minions.
Most lists feature a max. of 11-14 minions and therefore this is nearly an auto include in every token druid.
No there Isn’t. Maybe in your version but not in the t1 versions. And even if there is the card is still weaker than whispering woods because the requirement of summoning tokens are far harder than in the whispering woods card. Maybe you got 2-3 spells in hand max when dropping this. 2-3 2/2 tokens for 5 mana is not really that good anymore. Again 3,5 star card.
Actually, Strangiii is correct. In the most common druid deck at ranks legend-5 (per hsreplay.net), only 12 minions are run, of which 4 are rotating (dendrologist x2 and mulchmuncher x2). To your credit, 2 spells are also rotating (landscaping x2). This leaves us with 16 spells and 8 minions in token druid. I’m assuming you want to run both copies of fungal fortunes and this card, making it 20 spells and 8 minions on average, and let’s say for simplicity one more minion and one more spell on average will take up the last 2 slots. This means 21 spells and 9 minions in your top tier token druid decks post rotation. On average, with 6 cards in hand (and for obvious reasons, fungal fortunes aids this number a lot with its powerful draw effect and synergy with this card), you will summon 4 2/2s. 5 mana 8/8 on average? Seems great to me!
Well we’ll see. I bet my money on that this card won’t be strong enough this expansion. If spell Druid gets a lot of support next expansion it will definitely be a 4 star card.
