Gather Your Party Card Review

There is not much to say about this one, it’s mostly used to showcase the Recruit mechanic. It might enable some sort of Big Warrior deck on a more consistent basis because at Rare you can run two of those, but that remains to be seen. Until we know what the meta will shape to be like, it’s really hard to say. Right now it seems there are better things you could be doing in Warrior. To be realistic, this is a very powerful card. Cheating out big impactful minions should never be overlooked, however, there is also the problem of exactly what the pool of big minions to cheat out is at the moment. That being said, it’s priced just a tad bit too fairly for an unfair card (if that makes sense), so it might simply not be as impactful as other options in different classes. The problem with Gather Your Party is that unlike other Recruit cards (not that we have seen too many) is that it’s very generic – you can’t take advantage of tutoring something, which would normally be very scary, because “a minion” means any minion in your deck, making it unreliable. If there is only one minion in your deck however… you are getting into fun but not competitive territories.

Perhaps this with Dead man’s hand deck in wild will work?

Great card(If it was priest or Druid).Full stats for 6 mana seems great.
Question is, can a Big Warrior exist relying on just 2 cards.? What if you never draw them.? What if you draw the minions earlier.? Odds are you will draw the minions earlier.
The card is great but for the warrior class i have my doubts.
We can’t but to wait for the rest of the set to evaluate properly this card.

Also what is Warrior going to do from turn 1-5? your opponent is going to be building their board by then and when all the big minions are dead whats next? Its not like Warrior can keep reviving their minions

I know right.. but i think past the jade meta.
After jades , raza and Ysharj rotate (in 4 months)there will be again room for big decks and warrior has a lot of removal to control game from start to finish.Brawls , Fishes , Whirlwing , DK Garosh , Execute , Weapons like Blood Razor( that may be combo with the new Spellstone) and also has great taunts.
I really think this deck will be viable.
But as i said not now that other big decks have so much more ways to summon their big minions.

Btw old big control warriors just grinded your resources til late game and finished either by Nzoth(that will rotate) or Hellscream with a whirlwind effect.

I like the idea of a big dead man’s hand sudden genisis style warrior. Can’t wait for the rotation, good call.

if it was “discover a card in your deck, then recruit it” it would be good/great. as is you either have to not run many minions or its just a huge gamble.

Nothing much to add here – I find it a lazy design and a boring card tbh. Yeah, it could theoretically work in a Big Warrior or something similar, but then again, druid could ramp earlier, better, and more reliably for similar effect.

You must do this before venturing forth.

Great card, warrior is already packed with removal with Whirlwinds, sleep with fishes, executes, shield slams etc.

Now you just need 6 mana temposwing to go along with them and Big warrior is born.

I dont know if it will be viable with warrior but definitely fits the warrior image. 4/5 card, will definitely see some play.

We need to see more cards before we can rate this one. But it could be very cool. Recruit is obviously a strong mechanic and i hope they use it sparingly for druid and ESPECIALLY priest.

Big priest would be a nightmare with this mechanic. Imagine a barnes on turn 4 into this on turn 6 for ysera/lich king breaking the game.

Indeed big priest is strong enough as is. Priest can under no circumstance receive any strong minions this expansion. Or any good cards at all, it has had enough in gadgetzan ungoro and frozen throne. With two strong decks in the meta its a class at the verge of becoming oppressive.

Is it like Dirty Ratting yourself or do the battlecries happen?

The note says “Summon”, so I’m assuming the Battlecry doesn’t happen.

So that kind of sucks unless you build the deck around it like a big priest.

The first cards shown from new sets are typically lackluster. Give it time.

If i opened it now from a pack, it would be dust.
But we’ll see what else warrior gets.

People also said this when Shadow Essence revealed.

Might be a sleeper might be a flop. No one knows for sure.

Card seems pretty basic. I’m not sure that Big Warrior is ever going to be a thing, but hey, we need to see the rest of the set to figure that out. Initial impressions aren’t particularly great, though.
