It is a fine card but you attack to much. A player that freezes or have a lot of taunt can kill him fast
I think Galakrond Warrior will be: A) Just packaged into a Control Deck
Or B) one that works by stalling around then sticking huge Tomb Wardens/Faceless Lurker/Armegadillos (with help from attacking with your hero to kill the opponent). The problem is that that sorta deck might be too easily outvalued – versus Control Decks they’ll have plenty of removal to deal with 4 buffed minions, especially since you sacrificed playing threats due to Invoking. Galakrond’s might is a blessing and a curse along the way: Galakrond Decks by nature will be weak to aggro*, so while it will be good to have removal alongside your Invoke plays, you’ll have to use your face to do it.
* I know it’s hard to imagine a Warrior Deck that’s weak to aggro, but if you’ve tried playing Bomb Warrior since Uldum you can see that Warrior really needs to be all-in on his Hero Power and a handful of the reactive cards to make it happen.
This is not a card to try to fit into Aggro/Tempo Warrior – like C’Thun or Quests, Galakrond is designed around having “bad” early turns in exchange for better turns later. That’s not Aggro and that’s not Tempo.
Also, we haven’t seen Warrior’s “If you’ve invoked twice” OR general “Invoke” cards, so there’s gonna be more kickers to Warrior’s Galakrond package. The quality of those will make or break the Archetype.
Thas a dagern
Probably will not be a fun aggro deck to play against
pushed power creep again. these things ruin the game
and just as i was about to return to it, will they never learn? is the 2 mana 10/10 coming in april?
I’m pretty sure it’s balanced, when your opponent plays this, you just use your AOE next turn since at seven mana in warrior being able to drop something along with this is rare, but it may be used for aggro/tempo warrior which will probably will be able to.
But it entirely depends on warriors invoke cards (don’t think devoted maniac will see play)
gain 7 armor, draw 4 minions, give them blessing of kings, and swing for 8 damage.
balanced.
edit *5 armor* but still.. and then you got some 10 mana cards that do absolutely nothing compared to this.
Also, the hero power that you get with the invoke is not super good. That battlecry is one of the strongest in the game, though.
After playing 4 invoke cards which are quite slow.
I have a feeling at the end of the year of the dragon the heroes will prevail and galakrond will be killed. Thus he won’t be around next year but we will see.
sup guys, wut u doin? nvm, just chillin with my 7/10 tomb warden guys, brb
And I thought Blizzard was done giving warrior broken hero cards…
So they get the strongest and the most well drawn dragon. Dubble win for warrior.
Haven’t seen shaman yet buy Warrior/Rogue have similar value. Sprint+Buff and Sprint/wand of wonder. Both invokes are decent, but warrior is more aggressive/oppressive while Rogue is keyed toward combos/multi-casting. I have to agree warlock will be inconsistent on activation but it has demon/token synergy (which doesn’t really synergize with current token/zoo) that makes jumbo imp easier to play for free. Priest gets value generation, but until April there are a lot of counter productive cards that hurt rez priest and don’t really work for combo priest.
As far as who is best we need to see Shaman Galakrond, which still has unknown battlecry and hero power. Also if Shudder goes into play with Galakrond will the bonus battle invokes be beneficial. For example if you get a whirlwind/draw/summon X/evolve will the effect ruin your board/hand/combo? Last expac pushed battlecry shaman, but we could very well get a Hagatha 3.0 giving mixed results.
All the aggro warrior hype but imo this card even better in CW. Why? The invoke became very good board control tool early mid game that control warrior loves. They will play just the Galarond turn 7 for the insane battlecry value it provides, then switch to Dr.Boom later if needed. Vs insanse value late game that Dr.Boom cant handle, this hero actually much better
Nice Reload + Buff + Weapon (potentially) + Extra Finishing Power for Tempo Warrior. Seems perfect for that deck and it’s nice to see a different archetype receiving support instead of Control Warrior. This isn’t unplayable in Control Warrior but Dr. Boom is just better and, when he rotates out, i think the quest will be a better win condition.
Gah why this isn’t funny if you ran this + Dr Boom in a deck that’s painfully any mech you draw with this would be even stronger when make use of the rush and the invoke hero powers can be used to keep board clear till get into the late game. It will definitely see play in taunt warrior though especially with that summon a copy of this minion taunt.
Overall because of the value of its Battlecry though as a stand-alone I’d give it 10/10, though as control warrior stands right now I’d say 8.5/10
Tempo warrior may be possible, but with what’s been revealed, no. And also the reason control warrior isn’t doing well is doom in the tomb which will (finally) be over when decsent is live.
Why doom in tomb?
I mean when evolve, silvanas and stuff rotate out luckily
Gotcha
Easily best Galakrond we’ve seen, the attack is really useful to sacrifice your health to make trades, though maybe better as an invoke than a hero power, I don’t know if this will see play until after Dr Boom rotates out but after that I’m sure it will be an essential tool for control warrior as long term value, though maybe with a dragon package instead of mechs
But it’s already broken!
If Dr.Boom was annoying for the long run, then Galakrond should be for the imminent short turn. The idea of getting a free Heroic Strike for every time you get an Invoke or the idea of drawing 4 of your minions AND to give them all a free Blessings of Kings is Insane about of value. I feel like that there are some cases where Dr.Boom was nothing compared to what Galakrond the Unbrake is capable of, even if Galakrond is fairer. I feel like Dr.Boom was only there because it was just a Hero card that you could use and for its armour. 7 Armour for 7 Mana, and getting new hero powers for every turn is what was crazy about Dr Boom.
On the other hand, getting 23 Mana worth of value for 7 mana, compared to arguably speaking about 11-15 worth of value? It’s the reason why I would say that Unbreakable is better then Dr.Boom. If I could, I’d give it 6 stars, is that Crazy.
I miss playing control warrior. This seems like a good fit for a control style taunt warrior build. Also just excited for the mad genius to rotate out.
works great with either dragon or taunt warrior.
works even great with control dragon taunt warrior
