Seems awful tbh. The worst possible card you can have in your hand when you have a weapon equipped is another weapon. This will make sure your hand will be awkward to play. The only play I see for this is if the whirlwind deck is so great that you absolutely want all the bloodrazors at the same time.
this is the best card in the game (with the coin), since you can always draw FWA + 1
very good card, unfortunately works for pirate warrior too
Now here’s an interesting card. I like the design on this because it will frequently draw 2 cards for 2, which is great, but because they’re both weapons you can’t immediately use both of them.
Currently, I think every single Warrior will run 4 weapons (2 Firey Win Axes and 2 Bloodrazors, or the Aggro Warrior decks might not run the Bloodrazors but will run Arcanite Reaper instead), which bodes well for this card. On top of that, thinning your deck is also quite good, increasing your odds of getting the stuff you want. Control Warrior might not run this (since they don’t want to thin their decks very much), assuming it makes a return, but all in all, it seems pretty solid.
Noteworthy is that this card CAN be a really bad card late game when all your weapons have already been drawn… but I think this card’s going to be pretty insane.
Side comment; this card might only see one copy in Warrior decks because you don’t want TOO much of this weapon draw power, since the second one will frequently whiff, becoming 2 mana draw 1 or even 2 mana draw 0 even before late game.
arena warrior wont mind drawing two blood razors tho
My dude you are like a beast waiting for some pray. I have seen you comment on almost? every card up until now shortly after it has been posted on this site. I have two theories. Either you are a blizzard employee doing some serious work here or you are some kind of clairvoyant, because there is no way in hell someone can be at it with your speed and consistancy 24/7. Keep up the good work. Your post are very insightful.
On a sidenote 2 mana draw 2 cards should be worth around 3 mana. The fact that it draws you specific cards is most likely advantageous because of consistency issues and minimizing RNG. 2 weapons at the same time could b clunky though. Of course powerful cards need some drawbacks and balancing. I have seen a lot of people shitting on most of these cards because of some minor issues though. Example: “Oh this card deals a fair amount of damage and has good stats? Blizzard are you kidding me? We need 5 mana 10/10, deal 10, costs 2 less for every card in your opponents hand? that is the worst expansion ever”.
I guarantee you even something like 2 mana draw 1 weapon and 1 pirate, a card which would most likely be nerfed before release and should never be considered making in the first place would get a lot of shit and from pirate warrior players at that.
I’m sure there are others who post similar to me; I just stand out thanks to my good friend Heavy Breathing Cat. I do check a lot because I’m genuinely excited about this expansion and I love these spoilers. It’s exciting to see a new card and start theory crafting on it. I also work weird hours, which lets me get in analysis when cards are revealed in the middle of the day.
For the record, I don’t actually think I’m very good at Hearthstone. The highest rank I’ve ever gotten to was… 10? 8? Something like that. I don’t play excessively, but I do watch a fair amount of hearthstone and I play lots of different card/board games, so hopefully some of my analysis isn’t shit/misleading people into thinking that I’m an undercover pro with top tier analysis. I also just like to write, and this is a good outlet for that. Or maybe I just want a soap box. Apparently it’s working though. Thanks for the compliments though, I appreciate it!
Right, the reason this card isn’t just blatantly insane at 2 mana draw 2 is because, like you said, two weapons are clunky. You can’t play them at the same time, but it gives you consistent ammo for your weapon slot, and since Warrior weapons are generally good (especially the two that are going to get the most play) especially early on, you’re going to love using this card. Like I mentioned in my other post though, I think this MIGHT only be a one-of, because the second likely won’t get the full value if you’re just running 4 weapons. Unless your deck is more weapon heavy, in which case you might go for two of these. Again, deck thinning is still pretty good, so it might be worth it just for that.
Oh right, and if there IS a Blizzard employee out there reading this… call me!
it WILL run in contoll warrior becouse of dead man hand
No one in their right mind is going to play Dead Man’s Hand. The only realistic way it sees play is if Fatigue Warrior is a deck again, and I’m really not convinced it will be. Maybe if the Warrior Death Knight super leans in that direction. Dead Man’s Hand is way too slow (even for control) and a great way to lose tempo and get beaten up by midrange and aggro decks.
after they released the warrior dk, it is quite obvious that fatigue warrior will never become a thing
This is an excellent card that makes Warrior even more powerful this expansion.
In control, even if you run just FWA and Bloodrazor, this card is excellent as a one-off to fetch more removal. You can add even more weapons and armor gain to warrior and cut out most other removal, making your ability to have removal in hand more consistent with this card.
In pirate, this will be good, but not too good. Pirate warrior is not one to spend two mana on something that isn’t dealing damage or developing the board, so this will reduce their tempo a bit and give control and midrange some more breathing room.
I love this card, I think it will make Warrior an even more interesting class this expansion.
Yalls can BabyRage saying that “waaah this is op in pirate warrior”
But ill just be here with my 4x ooze Disneyland deck Kappa
I can’t believe this is common! Easily could be a rare, if not an epic!
I think your reasoning here is flawed. Not saying you’re necessarily wrong, but I think you aren’t reasoning it correctly.
In constructed the rarity doesn’t matter. People will craft cards they want. People who want this card will end up with this card. Rarity won’t fix that.
If you’re complaining that warrior is weak in arena then your argument is valid for arena. This card is a nerf in arena because you can’t guarantee you will have weapons to draw – basically it’s a dead card amongst the 3 choices. If you’re complaining about warrior being too strong, then you are missing the part where you aren’t guaranteed weapons in arena.
2 mana draw anywhere from 12 burn damage to 20 burn damage not accounting for weapon buffs. the only real weakness of the card is that 2 mana is a big deal when youre trying to kill your opponents by turn 4-6. the real question is how this card fits into the other warrior archetypes but i see so many uses for this card on a micro level that im sure it will see play at some point in the expansion cycle if not immediately . WHY THE HELL IS THIS 2 FREAKING MANA NOT 3
U cani keep in Hand and use It in mid game for draws weapons and finish oppo. In pirate Warrior obv
Everyone forgetting Blood razor. This is a great card in control warrior, probably too slow for pirate warrior.
Turn 1: coin this
Turn 2: Fiery War Axe
Turn 3: Profit
Pirate Warrior: Turn 1, you want to immediately impact the board, not draw.
Control Warrior: Turn 1, you normally save the coin to use later, not to unnecessarily draw on turn 1.
There are no situations where you profit from a move like that.
“Two Mana Draw 2” is good in any context, but this in Pirate Warrior, maybe as a one-off, really scares me.
It can also be in Control Warrior to get your Gorehowl. There’s options here.
Easily a 3/5. I would put it as 4/5, but I’m not that optimistic.
Seems good in a pirate warrior, but not really anything else. Control warrior already has a lot of draw.
However, this is draw 2 cards for 2 mana, which is pretty good. It’s just decks don’t run enough late game weapons for this to Be useful. Fiery war axe (one of the better weapons) is very early game, so I don’t think this is going to work out.
Gorehowl?
Blood Razor?
Fair point, but I’m not entirely sure warrior needs more draw in a control matchup, and they can now run even more with dead man’s hand because they won’t fatigue. Overall it’s a decent card, I just don’t think it’s good enough to warrant a spot in your deck when you can run much better cards.
