At least blizz finally succeeded in making a taunt warrior good. They had to make your hero into Rag to do it, but they did it nonetheless!

yeah this card is op on first look, but when other classes’ quest reward cards give them tons of raptors, imps, murlocs, 5/5minions, or even otk time warp… extra 8 dmg to random target each turn is not a very big deal.

So… warrior with taunts, let’s say that’s control warrior. Unable to be able to touch them as they are building armour. When they play Sulfuras the average Control Warrior will have 30 armour and about 20 health.

We have entered the age of 50 health Ragnaros…

    All will fall

Nah you re wrong, and this is coming from a dedicated control warr player. Justicar played a big part in getting 15+ armor (in control matchups that is) and given that she s rotating out, no more huge armor gains for us. Second of all, last time control warr was good, the aggro decks weren t so so powerful midgame. Nowadays with shaman, midgame is devasting. Pirate buffing weapons into immense value, there s no place for armor gains.

Moving onto year of the mammoth, we may see a rather slower meta, though i doubt it. Yet there s no justicar, only alley taunt will get us armor, if it doesn t get removed (which again, 8/10 it will) with spells, so no armor gain.

I really hope for a 50 health rag deck, but i can t see it in ranked.

I cant figure how you can lose with a WILD warrior deck built with this. Even Jade can be dealt with quite easy with a good use of brawl.

THIS, is to me the best card ever done in Hearthstone. I craft it on the 6th and dust it whenever they realize what they done. Maybe it wont be that good in standard so it’s even better, i’ll keep taping the hero effect as long is i’m aloud to. Golden warrior, here we come! hahaha!

This is so broken, compared to other quests… Allso very easy play style just hide behind endless taunt, and than press the button while you continue to hide behind taunt. This is far worse than jade. If it were deathrattle atleast the warrior would have to equip a other weapon to instantly get it but now…..

Not to mention since when is Garrosh a chicken that hides behind others….
A new brainless deck has born…

Exactly my thoughts. Compared to other quests, such as priest, hunter, or warlock, which rewards suboptimal deck archetypes with unique rewards, this basically gives you a win condition for sticking walls in front of you. With some of the strongest taunt minions in the game coming in this expansion, Blizz has finally made Taunt Warrior a thing – an archetype no-one needed, but now will everyone hate for getting rewarded for brainlessly spamming minions the enemy is forced to trade into.

Of course, Warrior will at least lose Armour up, but it won’t need it anymore if he plays Sulfuras. And well, Alley Armorsmith is a card…

Actually disckolock and aggro hunter are already the optimal sub-archetype for their classes.

well, sissy control warriors that go for fatigue have existed since long time ago, and warrior has always had no brainer decks… just look at old aggro and the new pirates

So.. your hero power becomes a PERMANENT Ragnaros, Firelord effect? It’s a good control effect, but I’m still not sure if it’s stronger than Jade decks as they can tank ragnaros hits AND survive.

I see all your weapon removal and raise you… A WEAPON YOU DAREN’T REMOVE.

The real weapon is actually a 3 cost 4/2 with battlecry not deathrattle

it matters naught if you don’t remove it, the effect is battlecry

if you play an adapt minion and give it taunt would it count?

Since the quest says Play and not Summon 7 taunt minions, that’s a no. They have to have taunt while in your hand.

Sulfuras is actually a 4/2 weapon

    • MelaMalone

And at the cost of 3 mana. And it’s not a Deathrattle but a Battlecry.

Not certain what you mean. The linked image shows it as being a 2-drop with Deathrattle.

I like how there’s now a counter to weapon removal in the form of a weapon. Weapon-ception

Really Cool Quest in my opinion, i really like the Taunt Warrior as a new archtype for warrior decks before taunt warrior was just a fun/kind of good Deck but now it will see play. And yeah RAGNAROS FOREVER!
