    You’re effectily just asking yourself to use 2 Glides and 2 Card Draws included just to do the Quest Complelition.

    I’ve done my philosophy of Why Glide is a bad card, and the reason being is that it’s only good against slower decks, where you want to interrupt their play of potential that you think that they have. Glide was suppose to be an interruption card, but it turned out to be a lot of the time was giving your opponent extra ammunition instead. So how is Final Showdown going to work, and Let’s say you do get the quest done. The amount of times where you are going to force yourself to use Soul Fragments (Since I assume Count as “Drawing” a card) then final showdown is going to be such a complex card for Demon Hunter, the acceleration is too much, and although the power spike is there, yes, so is your gas going to be empty. So it’s almost not worth even the Discounts.

    I think Final Showdown is one of Cards where you need a legitimate for WHY you want the Reward system, and not just “Oh, Discount Equals Good.” 1 Star.

    What I am observing with all these questline cards is that community is rating them purely based on final reward. To me, their main advantage is in the several decent minor payoffs on the way to full completeness. For instance, druid’s questline is 1 mana gain 10 armor and draw a card. Definitely worthwhile against any faster deck. Warlock’s is 1 mana, deal 6 and heal 6, again very useful.
    This particular one results in reduce the cost of 9 drawn cards by 1. As dbm14 already said, OTK demon hunter could definitely put those discounts to good use.
    Will all decks want to run those questlines? Of course not, but for quite a few, they will be nice addition to the gameplay those decks are already pursuing.

      ‘For instance, druid’s questline is 1 mana gain 10 armor and draw a card.’ Um… no, it’s not. Well, it’s the ‘reward’, of course, but to get that reward, you’d have to invest (with more mana, cards, actions, whatever). And most of the time, that investment is just too much to justify the reward.

      That said yeah, most people only look at the ‘final reward’ and this is clearly the wrong way to approach Quest Lines.

        I mean, Park Panther + hero power already finish the first part. Park Panther is not a bad card by itself. I can easily see it being played alongside the sidequest as an antiaggro tool.
        Generally speaking, if you build your deck around the questline, then I agree that investment can be too much to justify only partial reward. However if you look at it (and use it) as a nice addition to your general gameplan, that investment can be relatively low.

          Sure. But on top of that, the general ‘Quest problem’ kicks in – one less card in your starting hand.

          Ah well, we will see if Quest Lines will be playable or not. I think they’re cool as f*** flavourwise.

          Right now what’s more important is that the expansion will release as sheduled. 😉

    I think people are sleeping on this and I actually think the mini rewards are the things that make this card playable. I’ve never played otk demon hunter so might be wrong here but the discounts from Final Showdown and Gain Momentum could seriously help players get to the otk a turn or 2 quicker. We’ve already seen players experiment with acrobatics and other card draw, and I dont think it’s too hard for DH to draw 5 cards in a turn without glide

    Soul Frags are CURRENTLY the only realistic way of completing this. Adds cards to deck and facilitates the +1 or +2 for Skull and such.

    Issues is it’s 100% RNG, you aren’t going to play around it (you are outcasting Skull on 6 even if you didn’t draw any Frags), and the small rewards get wasted on Frags.

    Also, even then do you really care about the big reward of mana cheat? DH is already king of cheating especially for big cards or combo cards. It’s just extremely redundant.

    Will probably get more support though because I feel like they wouldn’t print a card solely to support cards that will rotate in 6 months.

      It’s also possible to complete the quest with some kind of Zai the Incredible combo. Copy two tradable cards in your hand so that you have 4 tradeable cards in your hand now and then use them for card draw.

    Hmmm, not ready to right this on off yet. Could see a soul frag/c’thun deck coming together. Might not be good but should be fun to play.

    Fact one: Skull of Gul’dan, Consume Magic, Crimson Sigil Runner, Spectral Sight, Stiltstepper, and multitude of other cards can make this happen.

    Fact two: it is way too slow. Too much Mana cost, and the reward is just not worth it. Cause guess what? You don’t have a deck to do this with. Unless some card comes along with the Benedictus type ability and allows you to add your opponents deck to yours.

    With that in mind. Sorry, no.

    Aside from this: Deathrattle, Soul. and Big Demon Hunter are way better archetypes than Draw Demon Hunter. Nice try, Blizzard. But no dice.

    What you would need would be a combo that somehow involves tradeable cards so you can ensure they’re in the deck to get the discount.
    Nothing revealed so far indicates that this would be a thing though.

    I thought demon hunter cards already do not cost much. Mana discount / quest might not be needed for a draw dependent deck; much like rogue.

    So unless a plot twist-like card for DH is revealed, you will have to spend a lot of mana to draw almost your entire deck, probably not being able to use the discount on many of those cards, and then you get a reduce cost reduction for your… what? 5 cards left in deck? Unless we are missing massive hand/deck reshuffle cards, there is no way this could be anything more than 1 star

    Drawing cards for half of the game and doing nothing does not justify cost reduction in late game.
    Could pretty much play regular aggro instead. 2 strs

    So this card necessitates you run Glide, as that satisfies 5 cards in one turn without completely drawing your whole deck out. I kind of get Plot Twist Warlock vibes from it. This could be sneaky strong, keep an eye on this card. Could have a few tradable cards in the deck for some consistency as well; I think it’s just good. It could be really disruptive for DH against opponents if you’re outcasting Glide, or maybe 4 mana progress your quest just isn’t going to cut it. We’ll need to see how DH can really abuse mana cheats though.

      Between Skull of Gul’dan and potentially new tradeable cards, I don’t think Glide will be necessary (or good for that matter, since it likely cuts out some of the cost reduction and card advantage, so it may massively devalue the early parts of the quest)

        completing the 5 draw turns with Skull & tradable is going to not only further you in fatigue but also make you incredibly reliant on hitting those cards. I think Glide actually is necessary because it functions similarly to how Plot Twist did in Quest Warlock decks. Whether or not Glide is good is to me the same as whether or not this quest is good: DH may or may not be effective in using 2 mana discounts on every draw. What is clear to me is that this quest does not cleanly fit into any of the DH archetypes we have right now.

    Unless DH gets some way if refilling the deck, I’m not entirely convinced that reward will be relevant, let alone worthwhile, once you’ve drawn through so much of your deck… I doubt even this will be enough to make glide worthwhile.

    Let’s see… earliest possible completion is ~ turn 5 (t1 quest, t2 whatever, t3 crimson sigil runner + spectral sight, t4 glide or coin skull + sigil runner (both discounted), t5 glide or (coin) Skull of Gul’dan + double jump (both discounted). From this, by the time the reward may be played (t6), you would’ve played ~5 cards and drawn a few. If we first consider no glides (since glide may still be pretty bad for a number of reasons), 16 cards would already have been drawn. Admittedly, this may have relevance for combo decks since the cost reduction already enables ploughing through the deck, but this reveals a maximum of 14 cards benefitting from the final reward, and that’s worth spending 5 turns doing nothing but drawing cards… might be worth vs control, but you probably toss the quest back vs aggro. 3/5 if there’s a combo deck that wants this, but I’m not 100% convinced even there.

    You have Kurtrus when in your deck remain 5-8 cards at most. Cost reduction during the quest is good anyway. Right now 1/5

      You can have up to 14, but only in completely ideal circumstances and I can’t be bothered to figure out the most likely outcome.

      Keep in mind that Glide shuffles and then re-draws cards, and Soul Fragments add extra cards into your deck. Then there’s the new Tradeable mechanic. So you can technically finish it while still having like half of your deck, maybe even more.

      That said, we’d probably need more than that for the Quest to be viable. Just discounting your cards is not enough, you still need some coherent game plan behind that.

        I’d completely forgotten about the new mechanic (as I often do, it seems), if we get some worth running in DH, possibly this could be worth running in a higher curve deck to exploit the cost reduction… either way, I’d be curious to see what Lifesteal DH makes of this, although it might be unnecessary and the reduction in early consistency might be too painful.
