One of the greatest limiters on the shattered sun cleric seeing much play despite it having decent stats and a solid battlecry was the fact that it was rather expensive for a very small buff. This card doesn’the have that problem but has only one health and two attack, leaving it rather vulnerable to a variety of cards and heropowers.

Could see play in Zoolock if that makes a return? Making your Voidwalker a 2/4 or your Flame Imp a 4/3 sounds pretty good even if 2/1 is a horrible statline.

I mean a 2/1 body is way too bad in arena but may in a zoo deck this card find play. Its may a bit better then the original Sun Cleric cauz its way earlier!

A 2/1 body is significantly worse than a 3/2 body. Even for a cheaper effect… nah, this just doesn’t do it for me. I mean, obviously this would never see constructed play, so now we get to decide if it sees Arena play, and I think it comes out as an average to slightly below average arena card. 2 mana card with 1 health is pretty bad.

+ Cool Art. I think it will look even better in golden. Maybe I can see it working in zoo like an activator for deathratttle effects.
    + Arena Card in rest.
Not all cards have to be op to get a good score for design. There is a need for filler cards.

No, it’ a Shattered Sun Cleric that you can play 1 turn earlier. They’re both statted as 1-cost less than their mana cost, meaning the +1/+1 effect is consistently worth 1 mana between them. Play this on your high-statted 1-cost minions like Shieldbearer and Raven. Then you get over 2 turns 9 stats for 3 mana, which is usually a 4 mana-cost for those stats. Arguably better than Shattered Sun Cleric as it can be played both Aggressively and with Control. It can also be played with Eggs to enable them to attack into things. A niche way for this to work in Priest is to buff an enemy 4-attack minion and then shadow word death it on turn 5. This is good in arena and zoo.

this card is better than shattered sun cleric as the mana cost is lower and have the same effect. You basicaly have a decent 3-2 drop for 2 but you can use it as an activator for other stuff that is why it’s a great card. I gave it 4/5 because it’s a decent card and will do great in some decks and arena.

The days of dr boom type of card that is good in all decks are long gone and most of the cards in this expansions are awesome because are ale usable in constructed in a way or another. Now you can make a ton of decks of tier 2-3 with a lot of cool cards that you won’t see very often, and don’t feel bad about it.

Blizzard running out of ideas… ~halving the stats on existing cards is not very exciting… yawn

It’s not like other big card games reuse mechanics or straight up reprint the cards.

blizzard haven’t opened up enough mechanics to be doing this imho. they are playing it very safe.

I’ve played mtg since beta and watched them explore mechanics over time as well… it was similar in that each expansion focused on one mechanic and some would stick around forever, and some would fade to oblivion (i.e. flanking in mtg … which might be handbuff try and fail for HS).

The biggest issue is that HS doesn’t print enough cards for each new expansion, making their new mechanics too difficult to shine vs just straight up good value cards.

Each class only gets 10 new cards, it’s nowhere near enough, creating a relatively boring metagame with only a few viably competitive archetypes. Sure there have been times where one class can play multiple archetypes, but never has there been a meta where all classes have this ability. And I don;t think it will happen until they print 250ish per release. Even if they did the first major set release per year as a bigger one and then the next two keep them the way they are.

They should be copying mtg in some ways (even though the game is slightly different)… as there’s a reason it has lasted 20+ years

I think this card could be really good in token druid or zoo warlock.

Why didn’t they make a 3 Mana 3/2 give a enemy minion -1/-1? Would be much cooler in my opinion.

If it was a 2/2 body, it would be a decent arena card. One health seems to be too weak to play in any format, in my opinion, especially if you miss your 1-drop and only have this in your hand to play on turn 2.
