Very interesting card, if nothing else. Similar to Dirty Rat’s intention of pulling combo cards out of a opponent’s deck, except this way you can immediately deal with them provided you pull a beefy minion out.

I’m not sure the Big Paladin archetype will take off, so I’m a bit reserved to say that this is good, but it will be interesting to experiment with it. I love the flavor and idea behind it, though. Really cool card.

If Big Paladin is a thing this is an interesting but very hit or miss card… it’s asking to be experimented with, but can’t rate it highly given that even if you build your entire deck around it there’s still a strong chance you’ll draw your opponent a decent minion. That its strong against aggro decks and techs against combos is its saving grace for a big minion control set up, so it has a chance at play if big minion pally is a thing at all, and if aggro/combos are dominating the meta. Combo looks pretty suppressed though with all the neutral techs, so this doesn’t seem so impactful at all. Probably 2/5 in general standard meta.

This card rewards you for playing big minions only in your deck what is really the absolute opposite of what paladin usually does/wants to do. I am very confused to see this card in paladin instead of classes like druid, warrior who can make way better use of that card but as it stands i am absolutely not sold on this concept…

While this does have a best case scenario of disrupting an opponent’s combo deck, its average-case scenario is more important- and it’s not good.

A 1-mana discount on Gather Your Party isn’t enough to make up for the fact that this also recruits a minion for your opponent. If you want to consistently win the duel, you need to cut out pretty much all of your cheap, early-game minions, like Recruit Warrior and Big Priest- except Paladin doesn’t have a defensive hero power or enough of a defensive suite of support cards to survive an early game with no minions.

Even if you DO build a deck around this card and it works, there’s no other synergies to be had in terms of other cards to recruit minions from your deck, or spells to resurrect your big, dead minions.

Which is a long-winded way of saying that this card is awful. 1/5

Fun, definitely. Good, not so much. More of a meme card than anything. 3/5

May not be as all good as some might think. However, it’s a different kind of Mass Hysteria. That could make all difference in a game. For instance, it could in theory, choose of the same attack and health. In THEORY! Does not mean it will. Still. Not too shabby. If I made this card, I’d’ve made where it drew 3 minions from each deck, and they’d attack one another.

Obviously you can tech against combo with this, but no matter the situation it works best to treat this as a recruit card that can cheat out big minions. I dunno if Paladin can cut enough earlygame minions to make that viable, but we’ll see!

Well then i want anti combo cards. This is not that i meant. Those cards are totally unreliable. It is like controld decks don;t strugle enough againts aggro now they have to put that much overpriced tech cards. Time out is enough of a combo breaker. This will not see play.

I made a deck for it if you would like to check it out .
It still needs a win condition though against control decks and I’m working on it .

So you spent a card. Your opponent’s minion and yours kills them self and you got nothing left. You have just spent a card and 5 mana to get no avantage on board and milling one minion for each players deck. Congratulations

Probably a good card for control paladin. You pull out a big dude vs their small dude.

Really cool card, possibly not viable but definitely fun.

Yeah I realise it’s combo disruption but I don’t see why you couldn’t use it to get a big dude out, especially one with a divine shield.

Am I missing something, isn’t this either gather your party for 1 less mana or oops i drew your combo, or 5 mana draw 1 card burn 1 card?

Use this with a big minion prismatic lens pally deck? That’d be interesting at least sure a 9 cost secret would suck but a 1 cost ysera be nice. This card definitely has some possibilities also it’s usefull if you run a divine shield based deck since your minion would be guaranteed to live. Other honorable mention turn 10 pull mechanical whelp it dies in fight and attach zilliax to the dragon for a 10/9. Would have been a great card against spell Hunter since only you would summon a minion.

This expansion is going full ham on trying to disrupt OTK/Combo builds!

    Hory Sheet, 3/5.

too bad it’s from player’s deck and not hand

Remember Mindgames? I think this is at the same level. Sure, it’s anti-combo. But then run the 3/8 minion, it’s much better.

Good if you have a Lifesteal Minion, bad if they have a Lifesteal Minion. Good for OTK Removal. Bad if that OTK Minon survives… It’s a very bizarre tech card, since it’s a weird mixture of a mini Mass Hysteria and Recruiting a Minion at the same time.

I think we just need to see a lot of Paladin Experimentation to be played with Duel, so we can get better data as to find out if Duel is a Good, Niche, or Bad Tech Card. So far i’m going to go for Niche.

I absolutely love this big/deathrattle dragon paladin idea.

That and the flavour of this card around the set (defender dueling villain) is just really exciting. Hoping for more cards like this!
