this could slow down an opponent’s massive auctioneer turn, which can be hurt by losing even 1 mana.
Should be good in a aggressive Mage deck.

I’ve been having fun just plaything this in a wild deck with everything that makes everything cost more. Its funny watching your opponent spend 7 mana for a fireball or spend 10 mana to get Lich King and i have the secret in place to get a free copy. Its just funny as a troll deck and to see people just spam the Threaten Speech.

I think this card, as is, is weak, but if its stat line was 3/3, so it didnt die to things like arcane blast, on the other hand, this card would trip up some control, and it negates the effect of the coin, which is considered to be a spell. i don’t think this card would be fair for 2 mana, but it needs… something.

I don’t think this card is bad, It can really mess up with opponent’s tempo

useless for 3 mana, for 2 mana probably better that Sorcerer’s Apprentice since it don’t die to 2 mana removal. (2 mana removal will cost 3)

    Why mage?
I want to create an annoying tax deck for fun. I dont want to play this in mage. Why not neutral or paladin/rogue id be happy with.

    Ergh
Fine, ill play mage -_- …. maybe

Why is this card 3 mana? It could have been a really interesting card at 2 mana, but it’s unplayable as is.

Because this card would obviously be completely broken if it was 2 mana. Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a good card but it’s not busted because atleast you have to pay 2 mana in order to get the effect and in turn play atleast 3 spells to gain value from it without losing mana.

This card however would be way too powerful as a 2 mana 3/2 since 3/2 is a normal statline for a 2-drop that doesn’t have that big of an impact.

No, this card would not be busted at 2. You’re vastly overestimating how many problems spells costing one more costs. It causes problems, sure. Problems that I’d associate with a 2-mana card, not a 3 mana card with this body. In a world where the 6 mana 5/5 that makes all spells cost 2 more probably won’t see play? Yeah, this thing is a joke at 3. Would be cool at 2.

This card gets it’s effect immediately. Apprentice has to untap to get it’s effect if you play it on curve.

If only mage had 1-cost spells. Oh wait.

Not to say that those get commonly played, but you see my point?

Going back to your example though, the card currently would ALSO only get its effect immediately if played on curve and the opponent had exactly an on-curve spell the wanted to play. Which frequently isn’t the case. Most of the time it’ll just trade down and you’ll be sad as it is, without it ever getting value.

This card is very insane. It even prevents the coin from being useful. This is the new loatheb, not the bad neutral card.

Why does mage always get the anti-mage cards??? If this were anything but a mage card I’d actually think it was okay

I like the idea of cards that interact with the opponent’s deck, but I don’t think this will find its place in any mage deck. But, I will surely try this card.
