Crowd Roaster Card Review
Another Dragon-related card, Dragon decks are already starting to shape up into something viable (but we’ll have to play around with the cards to know it for sure). I really like this one, it should be a staple in any Midrange or Control Dragon deck. This card is a nearly guaranteed 2 for 1 – you destroy something (and not something small – 7 damage is a lot, only the biggest minion dodge it) and then your opponent has to deal with the 7/4 body. 7/4 stat-line isn’t particularly hard to clear so late in the game, but if your opponent can’t do that,
Overall, I think that it’s comparable to Blackwing Corruptor the damage was used as a board clear most of the time anyway, and despite a higher mana cost, 7 kills WAY more minions that 3 did. Should also be comparable to Firelands Portal – 7 damage is more than 5, but it can’t go face, so I’d say that it’s about even (maybe slightly weaker), but on the other hand, 7/4 is better than average stats of a random 5-drop, so that’s a win for this card.
Another thing worth mentioning is that it has a Dragon tag itself, which is very important on late game Dragon synergy cards. Drawing this earlier won’t make it completely useless, because you will still be able to use it as a Dragon activator.
I would say that it’s absolutely amazing at 8 damage, at 7 it’s just very good. That’s a massive difference – 8 damage could kill The Lich King, Giants, Ragnaros the Firelord (we might see a bunch of them from Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk, while 7 damage can’t. But I agree with that decision – I feel like it would be too strong at 8 damage.
Card rating: 8/10
It´s a pity it deals 7 damage only, as it won´t kill lich kings or giants which is a shame. 🙁
Everyone is talking about dragon warrior, but I really see this in some sort of Dragon Paladin too. Remember that card no one’s played Cathedral Gargoyle?
While Crowd Roaster’s stats aren’t amazing, if you’re holding a dragon, it can be be seen as this having rush. If the average minion with seven health has about seven attack, this can be seen as a seven mana 7/11 rusher. That is more than okay, bordering on great perhaps.
The four health on this does make it vulnerable to Dragonslayer. However, at the point of the game where that card would be coming down to kill this, Crowd Roaster will have already killed a minion, likely a larger one, and the Dragonslayer herself will be easy to take care up. All meaning Crowd Roaster will rarely not take out two threats with it.
It is obviously a good Dragon that will help whatever Dragon decks take form. Perhaps,Warrior’s dragon deck will take shape as a midrange bordering on control deck that wants to take two cards from opponent for every one of theirs. I am unsure if War Master Voone will be part of that deck as it may be a bit too slow for what I proposed.
Horrible card, this won’t see much play even though it looks good.
What exactly makes it terrible?
Its stats aren’t fantastic, but it is a five mana body combined with a spell that should kill most threats that come down on or before turn seven. When viewed in that light, it can be seen as Dragon’s Vilespine Slayer.
How exactly does that make this horrible?
I think this card is better than y’all are making it out to be. For one, it’s one of the only dragons we have to use this forced dragon synergy with.
3.9/5
I think it would be better as a 4/7…you know, for star aligner synergy.
A couple more neutral dragons/synergies and I’ll play Dragon Hunter.
Interesting card. On one hand, deal 7 dmg to a minion is around 4-5 mana so you get quite the value there. 2-3 mana 7/4 IS pretty great.
On the other hand, the statline is quite bad. That 7 attack probably won’t go into a big minion, since you probably used the battlecry for that.
I like it, 3.5/5
It’s a fireball(minion only) that summons a 7/4
It’s a fireball…
Except more damage
Except more cost
Except summons a body
But it’s a fireball. It’s same, but different, but still the same.
Except doesn’t target face. But it’s a fireball !
It’s a firebal with a condition.
Wow, it can kill anything except for Lich King, Ragnaros, Yip, Ysera… mmmm…
Crowd roaster but only roasts one particular guy, what a shame .
I thought the exact same tjing
Why the heck is it called crowd roaster if it’s single target???!!!
What are you talking guy sofcourse it will see play. Blazecaller saw play, and it was a 6/6 deal 5. yeah you can’t go face but blazecaller required one turn preparation before the turn you play it. It is dragon, Although dragon slayer will be more usefull since its stats are preety nice for its cost and if dragon decks become viable dragonslayer will be more usefull despite not being dragon. It is odd true, but the dragon user odd decks are not agro ones exept maybe paladin(but i don’t see dragon paladin ditching its dudes buff mechanics for just some dragons). So control decks would like the face value. Whitch in terms pf play will make the elemental control decks like jaina more powerfull. And we rarely see those decks. Same goes for priest. Temporus is literally garbage. I don;t really see a world where he is playable. Maybe we can see a quest odd priest with dragons. But there are very few deathrattles that go with the odd archetype. And elemental jaina is still a thing. The only deck that may wat this is dragon warrior. Just i ncase you want to throw away your mechs and boom. And war master voone is even so there goes your dreams of consistent dragon deck.
I can however compare this to blackhand. That was legendary and saw no play. But it was no dragon.
the 4 health si total garbade. It offers no consistency with the dragon priest The witchwood dragon matriarch is much better. And the dragon soul dragons are 5/5.
Compared to blazecaller if you don’t have a dragon its a total garbage. While blazecaller is 6/6 and still offers consistency. compared to firelands portal that is rare firelands portal is better. Despite the fact that the 5 mana boddy firelands offers its unconditional and sometimes better stated and it can go face. 7 damage is far from assasinate since a lot of the big dragons are 12 or 8 hp.
Its a good card its not that much worth being epic so its dust value is high off and thats why it may not see much play. It comboes well with voone. Ysera and deathwing are just 2 dragons you basicly need some more value. And the problem with the extra copyes of deathwing is that you can play only on e:D.
Not a bad card a bit overpriced and usable only for warr at this point. Its replacement is dragon slayer for shure 😀
What kind of drugs are you on and where can I get them?
1.) Your post is completely unreadable because it’s a single paragraph with a ton of run-on sentences and spelling mistakes
2.) You start off by saying the card will obviously see play then give a dozen reasons for why it won’t see play?
3.) You are making a ton of logical fallacies, like deciding ahead of time that the only warrior deck that would use this odd warrior
4.) You seem to think this can only deal damage to dragons? That’s the only assumption I can come up with since you compare the card to Rand Blackhand and Dragonslayer like 12 times, even though those cards basically have nothing in common with Crowd Roaster.
5.) You decide (for no apparent reason) that you’d want to run Deathwing in a deck with this card (even though historically Deathwing rarely saw play in dragon-themed decks), and then point out that playing multiple Deathwings from your hand is impossible, even though that’s only an issue because you arbitrarily decided that Deathwing fits into this deck and even though there’s ways to make multiple Deathwings work, most notably The Boomship.
In short, either lay off the drugs, or actually put some effort into your posts, because right now you’re adding literally nothing to the conversation.
And I thought the dragon would be the one roasting people…
LOOOOOOOOL
i also couldn’t read that minti guy’s post. but I saw your first 2 points and then decided to re-read what he said hahahaha
HILARIOUS
he said of course it will see play and then spends the rest of his argument on why it wouldn’t see play
my goodness gracious i’m literally laughing silently at work right now hahaha
someone somewhere will make a fairly decent dragon themed deck. borderline playable. and i’m sure there will be a tier 1 or tier 2 deck some time during the next two years probably in standard where this card will be a one or two of in a deck. It’s pretty good and could compliment some decks that need some semi-late game removal. As stated by others, this card would be way too overpowered if it could kill a lich king.
garbage wont see any play, gud card if its 4/7
It’s a Dragon, it’s odd, it’s Assassinate with a 2 mana 7/4 attached. If Dragon Baku Warrior is a thing, this will ABSOLUTELY make the cut, and I can’t see a world where it doesn’t see play in some kind of deck (Priest and Paladin being other obvious candidates). Overall, very solid card that doesn’t define any deck but will easily find its way in.
Ok so I was leaning towards 2/4 because this card doesn’t fit 7 mana slot with its weak statline.
HOWEVER it is a dragon and that makes it pretty great, choosing between this and primordial drake removal can be very powerful tool for lategame decks such as dragon warrior or priest.
3/5, I do not think it will see play but if dragon synergy is needed, people will have to consider taking this.
Could be used the turn after boardclear to swing the bord. I’m not too hyped, but it’s ok. Most importantly for now: It’s playable and has the Dragon tag.
3/5
Another strange design. This will see play only if other options would be more terrible.
Basically, slow card, 7 mana, deal 7 ‘overkill’ damage to a minion and provoke removal. Namely amount of stats and the effect are very good for the mana cost, but an insane drawback with the health statline keeps it away from putting all that body to good use – trading twice.
And you can’t kill giants, LK… 8 drops… real treats, without ping. It kills Mossy, Oasis Snapjaw, Genn, Cube, Devilsaur, Geist, some new minions, like Oondasta… Dies to BGH. Often, it will deal more dmg than needed.
To bad this doesn’t get overkill effect.
Roastie got toasted. True Supreme Gentleman in dragon form.
Slightly stronger fireball effect with the condition of having a dragon in hand. Meeting the condition should not be a problem for a dragon deck especially on turn 7. So it’s like 3 mana 7/4 which is pretty damn good. It would be even better if it was 4/7 but with that statline the card would probably be broken. Will see play if dragon decks are a thing.
so a bigger fireball to a minion and you get a 7/4 attached? seems really strong and finally a dragon release lol 4/5
Now I see why they made Voone even costed lol
I like it, looks like a good tool for both dragon priest as well as dragon warrior. This will effectively let you remove any one minion your opponent played, and give you a 7/4 to potentially trade with another. Dealing 7 damage to a minion is worth about 3.5 mana, so the amount of stats you get is excellent, though the distribution of stats is not exactly ideal.
Not that great against aggro, since you’re unlikely to get full value out of the battlecry, and the 4 health on the dragon will probably be traded into by a 3 drop or something along those lines, but both decks mentioned already have fantastic anti-aggro tools, so that’s not much of an issue either.
All in all a very exciting card, can’t wait to try out Dragon Warrior.
4/5 stars.
Also worth mentioning is that the number of dragons in standard right now is a bit low, so you’re often forced to put in less than ideal dragons to make sure you have enough activators for the “if you’re holding a dragon” condition, and this one is definitely better than many of the other options you’re usually forced to consider.
Would be a lot better with more health but that’s intentional I’m sure as it’s pretty great as is. It’s pretty close to a neutral vilespine if you’re holding a dragon.
Makes Voone costing 4 instead of 5 hurt even more. The stats are kind of bad (Salty Dog stats) but the effect is what makes this good. If you have a dragon, it has an additional deal 7, which is cool. Lets you kill a lot of 6 and 7 drops, and then trade into a 7 or 8 drop or just go face. 4/5 in dragon warrior
Finally a decent dragon
