Basically this card is best played in early to mid game to force opponent to play a card they may not want to it’s especially threatening to combo decks and Highlander decks. Since Highlander only gets one copy and combo decks may lose a key piece needed for later. Woulda been hilarious to see this card before the rotation of togwaggle druid there were several combo decks during that period that warlock had multiple tools to break them.
I don’t think this is five stars for the pure fact that this doesn’t have a good enough archetype. Hand Warlock will use it, but once a good control warlock starts up, this card is terrifying. Plus now the demon tag doesn’t suck due to Cube Warlock being gone.
It is a superb card. Imagine, this card is 3 mana 4/3 stats and it is in zoo archetype deck. At turn 3 you play this and this card corrupts some key card that the opponent hasn’t planned to play. It is effective especially when the opponent needs to play some removal but he must play a minion instead to not lose it.
IMO, the description is wrong. The “opponent” is not a plural word — they wrote “THEY have 1 turn to play it!”. A mistake is in the word “THEY”
Superb stats, cool card 5/5.
No, They is correct here. The pronoun “They” has 2 uses:
1: To refer to two or more people or things previously mentioned or easily identified.
2: To refer to a person of unspecified gender. (aka the enemy player)
what did it means by “playable”?
So it won’t target non-playable such as?
1. Current Mana?
2. Double cards? e.g. Secrets, side quest?
3. No Target cards? e.g. Deal damage to minion.
confusing. but good tech cards.
I think it is about the mana curve. If an opponent can play it next turn, then it is playable.
Honestly, this isn’t that great. The key word here is “playable” card. So they can always play the card on their turn. It could mess up combos and such, but blizzard hates combo decks so much already that few people are playing strictly “combo” decks. I guess it has a chance of messing up shirvallah paladin.
not shirvallah only. It also breaks maligos decks.
Ah yes the massive amount of those haunting ladder right now.
Im all for blizzard pushing this effect type, as long as they add a nuetral card that is “discover: a card you discarded this game”
Because everybody deserves to tech against their least favorite deck
a card like that would hurt wild pretty bad
this doesnt force you to discard the card, have to chose if you rather play it or lose it
great stats, strong effect. 5 Stars.
Hearthstone desperately needs more interaction like this. They’re slowly getting there…
No, you only want a little bit of this… wild already has to deal with gnomeferatu constantly, and now you have to play around this as well? No thanks… At least this card says playable and not random…
I don’t think Blizzard cares about Wild balance. But I’m all for having Dirty Rat be a card in the Classic set and be done with it. Everyone has a right to tech vs combo decks.
I really hope you’re joking about gnomeferatu. That card is never consistent enough to be anti-combo.
Dirty Rat, Deathlord and this are much better cards for breaking combos.
most warlocks i feel run both gnome and rat, but just the gnomeferatu is worse because for 0 mana they completely negated one of your cards.
This is an extremely powerful card against any combo deck or really any deck…
I’m guessing a playable card means they have to have the mana to cast it? I.e it won’t hit an 8 mana card if you play this in turn 3?
You choose what card corrupt or it’s random?
Or else ?
I’m guessing it’s discarded? Oh sorry, “corrupted”
