the more i look at this card the more i see it as as good one. Yeah the drawback is bad but you chose when to activate it. One copy is decent vs aggro as it can save you the game and vs control you can use it at bait. Not that bad of a design either. Cool card.

Design 5/5
Usefulness 4.5/5
Card Value 3/5
I think people are forgetting something crucial when it comes to this card. U can choose when u play it. If ur against jade or control priest or any matchup like that then u don’t play it. U save till Lyras down for priest. Against aggro like pirate and Druid this is great. Usually u have less than 10 life when they run out of cards. Then they leeroy or living mana or reaper u for the finish. This prevents that with little drawback in those matches.
Really excited for this one.
In control matchups, you wait and bait. Bring it on, they play their cheap minions, you brawl. And if they play around that it s 10 armor for 2 mana.
In aggro matchups, it ruins their day. All their minions are cheap to begin with
In burn matchups, they use spells so fine have a 7 mana alex won t change much.
Auctioneer is the only issue. But given the above, i say this will work.
Bring CW back plz. No more quest cancer i want my CW back
I think the card is fine. I don’t think anyone will really play it, but Yogg needs more punishable spells.
From the desin side that card is so flaverfull so nicley done
Realy nice for controll/midrange decks
combo with shield slam and its healk for freaking 10 for 2 mana
If u have brawl in hand it can save u
If enemy is mage it may make his burn heaoer but still he has limited burn so ye
Minions, not spells.
Let’s get real. The meta is and always will be agro. And this is great against Aggro Decks that only have 2 cards in hand anyway.

You forgot about combo decks, one deck that checks control warrior hard already is Jade druid …
This card is just gotta %100 screw you over against any deck that sets up or uses actioneer
4 Mana actioneer is GG
In decks like Rog and Druid
So it’s gonna be a huge risk or dead card in your hand for a long time
This cards really not that good if you think about it, 5 armor is worth 1 Mana (Ungoro 5 armor card)
10 armor is worth 2 Mana , this card costs 2 Mana
This card also reduces every minion in your opponents hand by 2
If this cards used it’s going to be used for baiting newbie players to dump their hand into brawls
But once people catch on and learn to play around that, I do t think it will see a lot of play.. at least at higher ranks
picture a card called voodoo doctor, now picture a card called forbidden healing. now ask yourself why the latter has been played and in some cases still is played in control paladin and why one was in your very first deck. if the card text read “spend all your mana and for each mana spent gain 5 armor. your opponents minions cost (1) less for every mana spent using this effect.” would you put it in your deck?
Yes 50 armor for 10 mana would prob be broken in Ugoro meta… but 10 for 2 manna and the draw back… I won’t wanna play that, reducing minions in you opponents hand is terrible to have on just a heal/armor card…
Think about it
5 Mana arch mage
4 Mana actioneer
7 Mana Malg
6 Mana Medhvi
7 Mana Alex
Any big minions you opponent runs are gonna be out 2 turns earlier
This cards gonna enable combo decks to shit all over you and the +10 heal isn’t gonna make much of a difference against decks like Jade druid and Miracle Rog
Remember Emperor T, this is like giving your opponent his effect for 2 turns for free
Tempo decks are gonna get free wins over this card
All’s you get is 10 armor for it
If you play this card against a combo deck with a full hand, you deserve what you get. Just… don’t do that.
Even if this card ends up being sub-par against combo (which is likely), it’s still solid against aggro and control. Depending on the meta (been mostly aggro for 3 years and counting), that could be a good trade.
You’re right, you could just not play this until way later against decks where it’d be bad to give them it’s value
I totally agree this card will shit on aggro decks, but the thing is control warrior already has a pretty good winrate against most aggro decks as is, and that should go up with the new 4 Mana wep they are getting
I don’t think this cards going to as good against control decks as you think, against control warrior most control decks are gonna have a full hand of cards against you right to the end of the game , so this cards gonna be pretty much unplayable against control untill the end of the game and in most control vs control matches 10 armor is gonna have much value anyways
I play alot of control decks and control warrior is one of my easiest matchup when playing decks like ( control paladin, priest and shaman) part of the reason is control warrior decks tend to have not as much value in their decks due to having so many aggro removal spells and draw ( this is just another aggro spell dead in the water in control matches)
There will always be aggro decks in the meta and if the meta ends up being aggro heavy, this card will prob see a ton of play and be really good
This card will also prob make a lot of pirate warriors cry
Now imagine how many more aggro decks there are. You think of all the control mages and the jade druids but everyone plays pirate warriors and aggro druids instead so im pretty sure u wont care playing this on turn 4 when the aggro player has thrown everything on the board.
You have to consider the value of bundling though. This card is like adding 2 Iron Hides to your hand for 1 card. That’s why it’s way better than Iron Hide. Though this is a pretty bad card against anything else than aggro as aggro decks tend to sit at 2 cards or less and this card will sometimes be a 2 mana gain 10 health which could save your life.
True, ya you’re right, I agree 5 health may be valued @ 1 manna but 10 should be valued at more then 2
Like forbidden healing can be 10mana (heal20)
It was a bad comparison
Not really, being able to gain 10 armour vs an aggro deck is massive. Play this on turn 4 when the pirate warrior and aggro druids have dumped their hand already and u get an extra turn and they get nothing. This is the perfect card against aggro
The armor card we saw in Un’Goro, the 1 mana gain 5 armor, shows us what 5 armor is valued at.
2 mana for 10 armor is normal value, so this is a normal statted card with a giant weakness.
Make it 20 armor with the same effect, then it’ll be a good card.
1/5.
Except it’s basically two of those cards rolled into one, which is far better. By your logic, a “Double Fireball” that deals 16 damage should be valued at 8 mana, which is clearly absurd.
The drawback is potentially massive, but as others have already noted it is not really problematic against aggro.
It’s not even necessarily that problematic against control, where tempo takes a back seat to card advantage and life total. It’s just midrange where playing this could lose you the game.
6×2=16, correct.
As controlly a control card as there could be.
Vs. Aggro: Play on turn 5-6, when they’re more limited by cards in hand than by mana costs. At that point they’re going to dump all their 1- and 2-cost minions onto the table anyway… might as well buy yourself a couple turns with 10 armor.
Vs. Midrange: These decks often rely on big, swingy tempo plays and/or massive burst, so reducing their minions’ cost is very dangerous. Wait until turns 8-10 to play this, if at all. There will likely be times when this ends up being a dead card in your hand.
Vs. Control: Use to set up removal with Shield Slam. Play on turns 8-10 when the mana costs of their minions don’t matter as much, and/or when they’re running low on minions in hand.
Nailed it, I totally agree that this card isn’t as terrible as people picture it to be, plus assuming that the new warrior class card will leave armor hero power (we don’t know yet) it will always be a good thing to have some extra sources of armor, plus in fatigue settings this is card can have a positive impact on stalling those fatigue damage.
Agree! Great when games go to fatigue. And if Knights gives us just ONE more card like Shield Slam that cares about armor total, this could be really good.
This also synergizes with weapons so you can trade armor for value. Bring It On + Gorehowl… Yeah, you go ahead and play those minions.
I like your theory
This card is pretty great against aggro tbh. Most cards in an aggro deck already are low cost, and the 10 armor is significant against aggressive decks. Reducing the cost of minions in their hand could even encourage and aggro deck to dump their hand, which you would then proceed with a card such as Brawl. In Control mirrors, the cost of minions typically isn’t as relevant as life total and hand size. I expect this card will at least be tested in Control Warrior decks.
Probably not good enough to see play any control match up will eat this up
2/10 seriously bad in Arena too.
lol this card is the biggest middle finger to mage. 4/5 if not 5/5 card just for that matchup
Well it will be a great middle finger back if this hits Sindragosa…
acting like dirty rats didnt already pull that and alex into removal 3 turns ago. (also i was expecting the backlash to be antonidas for that comment) not worth the risk in most metas but later on when it gets easier and easier to read hands it’ll probably see play
This is an anti-face deck card as they likely won’t have that many cards in hand if you play it early. Between this and the new Blood Razor, Pirate Warrior is going to have a harder time. It will be nice to have some anti-agro cards to work with.
I think this card can have its place, mostly for the fact that it is a great card for mindgames, at least against aggro decks with a lot of small minions. This card could make your opponent overcommit to the board allowing for a large swing on board control. Its main problem is that against control it can do more harm than good with the cards we know of now. If this card is run, it will be a late game card as an activator for a large shield slam, or a setup for a large brawl.
I guess this could be a good card on T4 IF you have a Brawl in your hand
Honestly feel like this is “dirty rat” kind of card. Some cases it could be ok against agro but against control decks you’ll get rekt 90% of the time.
This could be even more catastrophic than a failed Dirty Rat. Against Pirate Warrior, it’s devastating unless he’s empty handed.
But as someone stated earlier, it would make them overcommit to the board allowing for a huge brawl. It’s a thinking card that’ll show how stupid (or reserved) an aggro player is.
