Firelands Portal nerf
Its a 5/1 weapon that avoids taunt and gives you a 2/2 body. This WILL be played in some decks, bomblobber is rng and only does 4 damage. The difference between 5 and 4 is Thaurrisan, Sylvanas, Highmane, 5/5 totem taunt guy, and a bunch of other cards that are played regularly. Considering that half the classes have some way to heal or have a reno deck…
There’s a lot going on in this card, so let’s break it down.
The 2/2 body is worth about 1 mana (Arguably more, but note that most 1/2s and 2/1s nowadays have powerful effects worth at least a stat point). Thus, you are basically paying 4 mana to deal 5 damage to a minion, but you need to wait until turn 5 or have the coin to do so. Additionally, as said, you need to target a minion, thus making the effect far worse as you cannot finish the enemy hero with it. And on top of all that, the 2/2 body does 5 damage to yourself when it dies.
My conclusion is that this card is bad despite having the flexibility of being a neutral card and providing removal to classes who lack it. At 4 mana this card would have made a bit more sense, as you would be essentially be paying 3 mana (delayed to turn 4 or coin) to deal 5 damage on a restriction to only minions, with an additional downside once the body of the minion dies.
That said, having these three downsides (a sort of delayed use, minion-exclusive, self-damaging deathrattle) just to be able to deal 5 damage for 3 mana in a neutral card might not be worth it either. Thus, pricing the same effects at 4 mana (again, I’m taking into account the 2/2 body) means that this card…is bad. It’s just bad.
…It is quite cute, though…
This makes purify tier one kappa
Control Warriors that can easily take the 5 damage if needed?
5 good things: counter silvanas, nerf RNG, buff dirty rat, can be used to kill youself , and has a extremely cute art Im gonna craft 9 golden versions of this card
Only 9???
” it counters the shit out of Sylvanas ” but you cannot risk 5 dmg from a your card… at least not for this value.
But sylvanas takes the minion, so your opponent takes 5dmg, and resummons it with n’zoth if he plays it. Against anything that’s not sylvanas, it’s pretty mediocre/bad
Hey sorry to post something unrelated but your backstreet leper page is broken Evident! I went to go check it out but only the page loads with no card or comments there.
Thanks, should be fixed now.
Actually this card is cinda problematic.
If you have evolve when you play this- it’s ok. When it counters Sylvanas- it’s ok. But what if you didn’t draw evolve, have this in Hand And face some aggro sh::?
Gg?
You are probably going to play it into a reno archetype so you can often heal you back.
Priest might be the best class for this with healing and silences. Not a great card, but purify doesn’t make a great deck so it might fit right in. 🙂
Well I mean, it counters the shit out of Sylvanas and it’s good in evolve decks. That’s about it for this card.
Oh yes, an other great card for evolve decks!
Nice nerf on firelands portal 😀
Same thought hereXD
A sylvanas counter !
No
Yes!
maybe?
sylvanas steals a 5 mana 2/2 deal 5 dmg to your opponent face seems good.
You are the most optimistic guy i ve seen. Looking the good side of the thinks. Bravo
