Boom Bot Type: Minion - Cost: 1 - Attack: 1 - Health: 1 Deathrattle: Deal 1-4 damage to a random enemy. |
This is the first card I have seen in a while that feels like it lives up to its rarity as a legendary minion/card.
Blastmaster Boom has the flavor of giving the benefit of 2 boom-bots if your opponents deck has a least one bomb in their deck (easy to pull off by just attacking with wrenchscalibur on the same turn as playing boom) making it about as good as the original dr boom
Gives the additional benefit of summoning up to 6 boom-bots, which were underrated back in the GvG announcement and card rankings (no seriously, every twitch streamer was just like Dr boom is shit when ranking the cards before release) but proved to be quite effective as well as giving the 7 mana 7/7 body to compliment.
Even if summoned by hecklebot, it has decent stats for what it is worth, and provides a big minion without you having to spend mana.
-Works with the Dr Boom, Mad Genius hero card, giving all of the boom bots rush and therefore an ability to go off
-can deal a whopping 24 damage to face if lucky enough and lead to kill percentage if a bomb is drawn after wards leaving 1 health on the enemy hero if they have full health (which most likely they probably don’t have full health)
In an overall statement, the card looks fun to mess with, and gives a pretty decent reward even if it isn’t top tier which makes you feel good to unpack this baby.
Balance: 4/5 (RNG dependent cards are never known on a power level if good or not really depends what happens)
Design: 5/5 (gives an honest to god good feeling deck archetype that hasnt been seen in a while instead of just odd and even which thank god are rotating out)
I don’t have much faith in boom warrior. I think this card will end up being one of the more overrated of the set.
Right now the only decent card that shuffles bombs into ur opponent’s deck is wrenchcalibur and I don’t think that two copies of wrenchcalibur is enough to run dr boom. If there will be at least one more good bomb card i think dr boom will at least see play in control warrior
i’ve only just realised that Dr. Boom is supposed to look like Dr. Doom…
(Rating based on play it will see in the upcoming meta, similar to trump’s ratings)
5 Stars
With Dr Boom mad genius hero card being available, warrior will likely already be tier 1. This a GvG Dr. 7, heralded as one of the most OP cards of all time, with an even better effect (most of the time). Its limit to warrior-only makes it a little weaker as Dr. 7 was traditionally played in more aggro/midrange classes, but nevertheless its a Dr. 7 with a stronger effect. Run it with clockwork goblin and Dr Boom Mad Genius to make a disgustingly strong deck.
5 Stars as a powerful card in a tier 1 deck.
Card looks great.
Just not sure if it’ll be as strong as dr.7 since hearthstone has changed a lot in the amount of mechanics, meta and removals.
Terrible design. Another one of those ‘let me tell you how to build your deck’ cards.
Potentially powerful, but I don’t like it.
It’ll show up in mech warrior though doesn’t influence that since clockwork is a mech and after you play mad genius all those little boom bots have rush meaning they can get triggered in same turn. So for some it may be a deck builder but it’s just a reasonable card to add in to a deck that will already exist.
I don’t think that you’ll put 2 Clockwork Goblins and Mr. Boom in an otherwise controlish Warrior deck. But I might be wrong (like most of the time 😉 ).
It has more to do with filling in for a few cards the decks would lose with the rotation I ran an odd mech warrior and had direhorn and the stonehill defender there’s also fact as a mech it can be pulled from 2 cards the deck does run mad genius power and Omega assembly. So you’ll probably include 1 copy of clock work at least. And if can’t trigger battlecry a 7 cost 7/7 isn’t to bad of a play.
I think Control Bomb Warrior will be really strong since warriors can generally survive till fatigue (at least with odd but i guess we’ll see) due to the insane amount of removal and this gives control warrior the win condition that it’s lacking. Obviously vs combo decks it will probably lose but most control decks lose to combo decks anyways
Talking about Standard we lose Odd – and the best removal in Blade Flurry.
Anyhow. We’ll see what will happen. Doesn’t change my mind about the card’s design, though.
Potentially very strong, with 2 to 3 bombs in your opponents’ deck. Can also just be a War Golem. Hard to gauge this card with no real idea of the meta or how a Bomb Warrior archetype plays out… but if the old Dr. Boom is anything to go by, then this should be quite good. 4/5
it’s not goodbye.
Blastmaster Boom is the original Dr. Boom as long as you play Clockwork Goblin, a reasonable card for the effect, and maybe more as long as you manage to play multiples. It’s nice to see a pay off card for bombs, but I really do not think any of them will see play other than Clockwork Goblin.
Dr.Boom is BACK!
Good to see you again, old friend. <3
Great card and this has 1 big upside an issue with cards like bombs or the ambusher card is it has no value till drawn this card gains value for the cards still being in your opponent deck.
With the other bomb cards that were revealed, this card is pretty viable and strong. GvG Dr. Boom was already good, but now you can have the option to summon more boombots, that just makes it better. 5/5
Maybe not the most imaginative new card, but brings back the Boom in what feels like a more balanced way than GvG. Not an auto include, but greater potential if you build around it, and building around it will only require 4-8 support cards in total, so leaves a lot of flexibility for decks that incorporate it as a package. Nice Artwork as well. 4/5
We all wanted the return of the boom bots but this straightforward replaces the Wild Boom card. I though blizz knew how to design around such famous and loved card from the past. We finally get archetype for dr boom and the card that made him famous retired. A bit sad but this is straight forward more valueable for the new decks. Its basicly dr 7 with potentionally more BOOM-bots.
You have to run the bomb cards to make this a “better Boom”. Read the text.
well if you don’t run any bombs this is just a war golem.
Cool, but Warrior is probably weak like the past 2 years.
I believe I saw Firebat playing Seaforium Bomber Rogue (I think with Zalae) on stream for fun last year. This card enables the same fun but with Warrior’s Control shell and thus maybe even a competitive edge to it?
Iron juggernaut control warrior is back bb
