I haven’t seen anything better than this in a card game for a long time.
Insanely good and you can have 2 copies of this. 5/5 stars
I love Sap. So I love this.
play Flix, destroy minion. *Shadowstep*
play Flix again, destroy another. *Shadowstep*
play Flix again… play secret, play Blackjack Stunner. Profit. FML
Interesting to see that Secret Rouge is coming back. We’ll just have to see if it’s actually going to be athing however, or if we will still be looking at Highlander / Tempo Rouge. As for the minion itself, It’s a really nice Combo Card. And you can Really mess up both 9 and 10 mana minions becuase you can’t even play them anymore (granted if there are no lower-costing minions)
4 stars, looks good.
Fovourite card besides Taron from this expansion <3

Nope, honestly this card ain’t gonna make it. Blizzard’s probably gonna print like two Rogue secrets or so this expansion, and we already have one of the secrets – the Ambush secret that instantly is triggered when your opponent plays a minion.
So, to use that Ambush secret in conjunction with this card, you have to play them on the same turn. That’s three mana total. Not a very flexible play.
Assuming that the other secret that Blizzard’s gonna print won’t trigger so easily, we might actually have a 1 mana removal tool. However, you only get two copies of that secret in your deck, and two copies of this card. Not very consistent to rely on this for removal.
All in all, this card can be compared to Mage’s Cloud Prince – 4 mana 4/4 that cast a 1 mana Fireball! But it saw no play because Mage didn’t have enough good secrets. This is basically the same thing, except for Rogue.
I believe Blizzard said there will be additional Rogue secrets/secret synergy cards later in the year, but even with just the one we have I already think this is better than you give it credit for. You’re right that it’s probably best to play these on the same turn to guarantee the bounce, but think about what you get from that: a good-statted one drop, a big tempo swing WITH a cost increase, and a secret with a very easily triggered condition that summons a minion that also has good stats for what you paid for. Either way, we of course need to see what else rogue is getting to really reach a conclusion, but I’m at least optimistic.
I mean, assuming that you do play both a secret and this minion on the same turn, it’s still not a very impressive play. Playing this on turn three would basically Sap an enemy minion and play a 1/2 body. The 1/2 body, though, takes up card spaces in your deck and isn’t going to be relevant by turn three – your opponent can probably just ignore it.
I think you’d just be better off running Sap as removal.
Yes, you are right in a way, but I disagree with what you said about playing a secret and tis card on one turn is bad. Sap is one of the best rouge cards, and a 3 mana copy of it that summons a 1/2, increases the cost by 2 and give you a secret is really good. Espescially if you think about that if you bounce an Alexsztraza or the new druid 9/9, they can’t play it anymore, so if this card removes a minion that costs 9 or more from the battlefield, it also removes it from the game and a slot from your opponents hand.
But this is a conditional Sap. Not only this, but to use this card effectively you would need to use two cards, a secret + this.
I guess the biggest problem with this card is that sap just defeats this card in terms of plain efficiency. Sap requires no setup, costs just 2 mana and uses up one card. This card is just the tacky, fancier alternative to Sap : this requires a setup of a having a secret, costs 3 mana total and uses up two cards.
Sure, it can target minions that can’t be targeted by spells, and it leaves a 1/2 body, but I’d still go on to say that simply running Sap in your deck is better than running this card.
And now rogue has a minion that discovers a secret when you play a secret secret run will likely appear running quest.
The card is 5/5, but i doubt will be played because its very inconsistent if you dont play it the same turn you play a secret, so my guess is testing will probe it too random for tempo rogue
I wouldn’t be surprised if a secret card Rogue got was something like “Add a secret from another class to your hand.” That way, the secrets you play wont be so obvious (since I’m sure Rogue will only get 2 or 3 more this set).
It would also fit with the enhanced burgle mechanic Rogue got last year
Do you know what I like the most in this card? That it is a MINION, so the irritating Can’t be targetet by spells or hp druid 8/11 reborn taunts can finally be removed. Flik was not constant enought, we needed this one. And you can play 2 of this in your deck.
You can even Shadowstep it.
Yes, that’s what I’m talking about! Rouge has many synergies with minions and only a few not-viable ones with spells (prep for example). The only problem with bouncing this card itself is that your secret will probably get activated untill next turn. If you play it twice in the same turn… yes that is op.
This definitely looks like rogue is going to be playing secrets more though needs stickier secrets than what have. Ambush procs when minion is summoned. And the rest of the secrets are in wild. Cheat death fetch back minion 2 cheaper when does. Evasion after hero takes ANY dmg get immune and sudden betrayal when hero is attacked hits neighbor instead.
Not expecting anything like iceblock sticky but going to need at least 3 secrets or it wouldn’t be much of a secret what you played. Most sticky thing we have at the moment is the play 3 cards in a row.
Gotta be honest, this card is really good. Freezing Trap effect on a stick, with the condition that you have a Secret in play already? This is awesome!
Secret Rogue?
Ambush looks decently good. They both seem to fit well in the usual tempo-based Rogue deck.
Need more good secrets to make it work
It seems strong but it depends on how good are the secrets to be actually playable. I don’t think anyone gonna play bad secrets for a good supports.
