Baby Edwin
A bit overrated. This card is worse than Questing Adventurer because you can’t continue to buff it after it enters the board. Additionally, you can still pull off the same combos with Questing after you initially play him as with Biteweed, the only difference being that you need to play him before the combos as opposed to after.
I wouldn’t say he’s worse. Though you can’t continue to buff him after he leaves hand that also means your opponent has less ways to stop you from buffing him.
That doesn’t make sense. Biteweed is strictly worse. You can play questing plus cards or cards + biteweed, your opponent can’t do anything either way.
Problem with biteweed is you can’t play it and then subsequently buff it if your opponent doesnt have an answer.
Snipe and the new Hunter legendary come to mind. For both of these cards you would need something to bait out, counter, or remove these cards to safely play Questing Adventurer. If you have Biteweed you could counter these cards and still have those cards contribute to growing it. Not to mention that Biteweed is cheaper leading to larger initial combos.
Feel free to try it, i know i did. It’s too slow and competes for the same resources as other cards that use those resources better. Saying the card is good because it’s a worse card that you would rather have eaten/sniped says a lot about the card itself.
The two obvious comparisons are VanCleef and Questing Adventurer, two cards that use similar mechanics to synergise with spellspam and generate large bodies. Out of the cards, VanCleef is by far the strongest, sacling much more efficiently and providing a much easier way to develop a decent body.
Compared to Questing Adventurer, this is 1 mana less for 1/1 less, which is fair. Questing has a great adventage in being able to be left on the board, and thus is a far more higher threat, though this card is better and easier to include in an Auctioneer turn. I prefer Questing to this, though of course both might very well see play in miracle, especially with some of the better cards of the archetype rotating out (think conceal, tomb pillager and azure drake).
I think it is a decent card in miracle, if slightly overrated.
Overrated
It should have stealth! XD
I am furious that this is not called “Edweed Vanleaf”
