It’s not quite as good as living the T3 Angry Rag dream, since Angry Rag has rotated to Wild and Innervate was nerfed, but you could theoretically drop the Lich King on 3.
Don’t see much potential. May be good for speeding up a match against a slowpoke opponent lol
Well you are gonna be suprised then.
Crazy potential in this. You simply dont care about the opponent if you play OTK version of druid with Spreading Plague and DK Malfurion.
You just care going to 10 mana fast so you can UI him until you draw Malygos / Floop combo.
(malygos , next turn Floop Taldaram Moonfire some sort of mana gain like this or innervate and swipe)
Ok, the stupid 7-turn combo will be even more stupid… but this card gives your opponent a big advantage. An advantage big enough to catch up your ramp and play some big threat you can’t deal with. Or a certain answer i.e. Skulking Geist turn 4 then Mind Control when you Cube your Hadronox (a bit stupid example but serves its purpose).
Even “aggressive” or “midrange” decks play big guys in this meta. Turn 6 Kathrena + King Krush, plus Cube, 2x Kathrena, 2x Highmane next turn isn’t so pleasing.
another card for charity druid, nice
Big Druid !
Cards that also help your opponent have never been good, I don’t see why this would be. It’s just another innervate. Yes druid has a lot of draw potential, but innervate is not played anymore because +1 mana is not so much and this card is pretty much the same, who cares if you get 2 ramp faster, so will your opponent.
Your deck is build to use the ramp your opponents deck is not that’s where you get your adventage.
Uhm, coldlight oracle is the living proof that you are wrong. It was even used in non-mill decks like quest/exodia mage because a combo deck like that benefitted way more from the extra carddraw, on top of the crazy amount of draw they already had. It’s possible for ramp to work the same way, if ramp is so much better for your deck than it is for any other possible deck, you are also gonna run “bad ramp” because it’s still insane for you and, while good for your opponent as well, it is not insane for them.
So yeah it could be similar to coldlight oracle, where one deck, your deck, benefits way more from it’s good effect than your opponent’s deck.
Most of these comments are overhyping this card way too much. It’s a big trade off. Yeah turn 1 you get an extra mana to use. Cool, now you can play a 2 drop on turn 1, but next turn your opponent can play a superior 3 cost. It’s only good against aggro honestly. Even then it’s not amazing. It depends on what better threats they have. Otherwise you kind of lose the initiative and will have to respond to your opponents plays rather than the other way around. A big minion is only great if you can make something out of it. If it’s going to die once you end turn because of the opponents superior board it’s not that great. It’s good against decks with no late game cards or draw. That’s about it, otherwise if you neutralize the board you’ll even out unless you implement a combo like master Oak. Big Druid (the only deck to really play this in) in itself isn’t great even with this card because if you rely purely on drawing your ramp up cards. If you don’t you pretty much auto lose.
Overall my opinion 8/10 in a very specific deck
Not a staple at all except for a specific deck
All other decks it’s a 4/10
Overall I’ll give it 6/10.
How do you fall behind? Both player getting 2 ramp and you get an innervate on top of that. Why would you lose tempo? That doesn’t make any sense. Beside you don’t care about a 2 drop you can play on turn 1 unless it is wild growth. You care about getting to get to your 7/8/9/10 drops.
borderline broken
It’s amazing how bad people are at rating cards.
People indeed are terribly bad rating new cards, even the pro streamers! This far brian kibler has the most accurate ratings. People always try to think in what kind of already existing decks these cards can go, this card actually has the card pool to create a turbo mill / turbo fog kind of deck for druid which doesnt give two shits about your opponents mana. This card is gonna limit the future card. This card creates a new core for druid with the existing ramp, card draw and control tools, druid never had problems closing a game so there will be many versions of it.
Im calling it, this card will be nerfed over time
2 ramp for 1 mana on turn 1 in a deck that can use ramp waaaay better than the opponent (if it is not the mirrormatch) isn’t borderline broken? Oh yes and you get the 2 mana right away like that was even necessary.
I think a card like this would be run in a strictly big druid rather than a taunt druid since you would want to take advantage of the turn one combo of this plus doomsayer. You also want to be able to take advantage of the mana better than your opponent, and what better way than playing a deck that requires a ton of mana.
So getting Master Oakheart out TWO turns earlier than normal is not something Taunt druid wants? If you say so.
Oh boy oh boy my dream card, I love turn 3 oakheart in big ez dragon druid. Agahahhahahahagaa
Turn 3 14/27 in stats is totally fair and balanced. ^^
I can see it now, lose the coin toss, turn one biology project into wild growth, turn 2 nourish for ramp and wild growth, turn 3 coin UI. Seems balanced.
Yeah, that one scenario totally renders this card entirely unbalanced…
The mana crystals are not empty. That makes this a 0-mana innervate +2×wild growth that gives your opponent 2 mana crystals, wich is insane.
1 mana pre-nerf innervate. I think the critical point on whether this card is strong or not depends on how it interacts with Excess Mana.
wow. with this is possible a infestation in turn four. This is so criminal xd
Nope turn 3 is possible
Turn 1 (without coin)
Project, wild growth
Turn 2
Nourish wildgrowth
Turn 3 innervate UI ( or coin if you have it)
What if you don’t get the UI, concede because no cards left?
I mean, that has always been the issue of getting all your ramp cards in your opening hand, you’re very topdeck reliant.
So you nourish to draw 3, next turn wild growth the second time and turn 5 UI.
This card is gonna have a huge impact on the meta in standard as well as in wild. The fact that the mana crystals are NOT empty and that you can make use of them first ist just what makes this card insanely powerful. Remeber, other classes do not benefit ramping as much as Druid does, so the drawback is not even that significant.
Oh boi, I have only seen 5 new cards so far, but I can already feel the power creep of the next expansion.
Turn 1 Biology Project, right into Wild Growth. That seems a pretty good play. Will cost 2 cards though…
Oh no, dropping 2 cards for one of the most draw heavy decks in the game. what a tragedy.
Especially when you can follow it up with Nourish on turn two ^^
Even though this effect is reciprocal, Druids will usually get more out of the effect than their opponents just because a deck with this in it will probably be playing more big stuff. Plus, the ramp on offer at the moment is rather minimal, so this seeing play in Druid generally would not be surprising.
Even later on in a game, this can just be a coin.
The fact these cards also affect one opponent in a positive way may be off putting, especially since they’re not losing a card to gain the benifit, but decks that play these will be built to benifit off the project more so than most other decks can.
Spiteful does not run wild growth for obvious reasons. I don’t see why this would be different.
I said generally in the same way that the majority of mage decks play frostbolt but those that are unable to for whatever reason just don’t.
How is what spiteful runs or doesn’t run relevant to the overall discussion on the viability of this card in druid? Spiteful druid is what, the 5th most popular druid archetype right now? That’s like saying “Bloodlust is obviously trash, you can’t run it in Even Shaman.” No shit, Sherlock.
looks strong. druid needs fast ramp to infestation. might be strong in spiteful deck.
you need this in start since its dead card later
It’s a 1 mana that gives you 2 crystals. It’s basically an innervate in late game.
I have no idea what to think about this card. You get to make use of the +1 mana advantage first, but then your opponent gets to make use of +2, then it levels out except that you’re a card down. If you’re using it in a combo deck, you still need to draw the combo, which means traditional ramping with armour gain seems fast enough. Which leaves us with Ramp or Big Druid, which doesn’t seem that exciting. Not gonna leave a rating on this one yet, we really need to see more of the set.
it’s an innervate with a symmetric side effect, giving +2 empty crystals to both players
you can build your deck to benefit from ramping, so the side effect is beneficial, so it’s a better innervate.
I believe it is 2 full crystals since “empty” is not used on the card.
It is also unknown if this will give 2 mana for the cost of 1 on turn 10.
I know people are iffy about this card, but imagine, if you will, turn 1->coin+Wild Growth, turn 2->Biology Project+Biology Project+Nourish, turn 3->Ultimate Infestation on their 6-cost minion, and then another 10 drop every turn.
Except in that situation your opponent also goes to 7 Mana. Aggro spams out a bunch of stuff, recruit hunter does some big recruits, shudderwock does shudderwock things. In the mirror this card is definitely a clown fiesta though, turn 2 10 Mana when both players do 2x biology project
The mana crystals are not empty. This card has potential and gives you a good advantage. Playing two in the first turn give you 3 mana crystals to use that turn. (Sry my bad english is not my native language)
Using this gives you the advantage of +1 mana that you can act on immediately, with the downside of giving your opponent +2 mana and +1 card advantage. That…doesn’t sound like a great dead. I think you’d need to be using a very specific strategy to play this card, it doesn’t seem like a staple.
This could be the ramp card that puts odd druid into the meta.
I was under the assumption that Odd Druid was an aggressive deck. Does it need ramp that badly, especially if it also ramps your opponent?
I don’t really think odd druid has found what “type” of deck it should be. I’ve seen different versions attempting to mimic taunt druid and some for an aggressive token, both being off meta. This card lends itself to an odd ramp type similar to taunt i’d think. Even if its not odd, I’d say ramp druids usually just want to skip early game as quickly as possible, which this does.
That would be interesting, but I don’t think the Baku limitation allows for a ramp deck. The late drops are pretty skewed, you lose out on Lich King and Primordial Drakes but you keep things like Ysera and Oakheart. Gloom Stag helps with the midgame, my only other problem I can see is that it’s a ramp deck that’s unable to run Ultimate Infestation. Nothing else can really fill the role UI takes in ramp Druid, it’s the definitive high-mana card that Druids ramp into.
UI is great but its not essential really. Druid has a lot of draw in other ways. There was even a time that UI was omitted from Taunt druid because the deck actually would draw too much.
