Ok at first I thought that blizzard was changing their basis for vanilla stats. 5/5 draw a card? Unheard of basically. Heck even bloodmage thalnos was only a 1/1 after all.

Then I realize that this isn’t gonna keep you in the meta anymore. A basically statted filler doesn’t drive the game at this point of the game’s history, decks are in focused archetypes that don’t really reflect basic decently statted cards. Mage’s Bonfire Elemental might actually better in a sense and let me explain why: although that one requires a condition it’s a condition that fits in with the rest of the deck’s focus. In that case you wanted to be playing elementals in that deck and that was going to reward you, plus it kept the elemental chain going. Yes in pure value this is much better but Bonfire rewarded you because that was the deck you’re playing.

I guess this could work in dragon decks in classes that don’t have many dragons, I’m actually quite shocked that there weren’t as many dragons this expansion as I would’ve guessed. You need a dragon to hold and this does have okay stats but honestly I think there are better cards out there.

What about Azure Drake? You might ask. The reason why is their drastically different, that was used to get a good removal or AOE extra power and potentially drawing one if you don’t have it, or just drawing anyway, plus you got a 4/4 body which was great for the extra bonuses.

So in pre Year of the Mammoth Hearthstone I’d say this would be great, 10/10. But nowadays I don’t see it, 2/10

Every bit as good as Azure Drake, but Azure Drake was a symptom of Hearthstone not having a lot of cycle cards back in the day. It’s a good card, but don’t be surprised if it’s only a narrow amount of Midrange Dragon decks in classes with bad draw that wind up running this.

Too much hype on this, no more than 3 stars for me. The dragon tag means you want to have it in your hand as enabler for others, and the cantrip is not needed in dragon deck, you need other serious effects, plus you will have no room for this

I like it. For once we have something better then Gnomish Inventor. So much so, that this is a clear answer for a lot of decks that want to recycle, including Aggro Decks, to use this card. You can just as easily compare this with Azure Drake since many of the classes did now care about the Spell Damage, more so then they cared for the Card Draw being a fitting touch for a Recycle, before being Banned from the classic Packs. So with that mind said, will Big Ol’ Whelp continue to do Azure Drakes job? Probably. Which is why I’m giving it 5 Stars.

its not just good in a dragon deck. 5m 5/5 draw 1 is ridiculous. Bonfire elemental had a conditional. This does not.

Lol I look at this and start thinking of I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry. Had joke if started the fire by lighting a fart.

Overall it’s average 5 cost stats and draws a card. Great to draw after reduce cost of dragons by 2.

The hell with these green mana cards? Do I really need to spell it out that 3 mana 5/5 is already broken even vanilla and without tribe? I’m guessing this is 6 mana, in which case it’s not great for constructed. 2 stars. If it’s 5 mana (but I doubt it considering Azure Drake was HOF’d at 4/4) then it’s 5 stars.

But seriously, get your shit together.

I took a screenshot from the stream right when it was revealed – it was discounted by 2 with Frizz. I did write that it costs 5 in the description and then put an actual correct image 5-10 minutes later. Don’t be so harsh.

No, you don’t need to spell it out, it’s obvious that when the mana cost is green then the card is discounted…
