After seeing it in action this is easily one of the best cards of SoU. Removal, minion summons and a bunch of easy efficient combos. We’ll see this card in every druid deck.
Linecracker wants to know your location. 4/5
This with cult master does
-deal 4
-draw 4(u go +2)
-summon a 4/2
Mana:7
It kinda reminds me of UI
7 mana
Deal 4 damage to a minion. Draw 3 cards. Summon a 4/2.
(assuming the cult master has no value after this combo, which is a good worst case look)
didnt happen sadly xd
– Heavy inhale – …. I see, better shadowbolt
Only one question.
If you cast it on a minion with less than 4 health (for example a 3/2), then will the rest of the bees survive (In my example 2 of them)?
Based on what literally every streamer and commenter here says, I think that yes, for every additional damage you get a bee. I’m not sure either but I have confidence on what everyone else says.
Then this is extremely good 5/5
Otherwise 4/5 because then its just 3 mana deal 4 but synergises with some cards well
Combo this with Cult Master for drawing 4 cards 🙂
This card is so good and versatile, great in token druid and in Overkill combos,
Druid is in a bad position and this specific card will help him very much.
Uhhhh…. Druid is in a great position.
Yeah it currently has the best deck in standart
Since I don’t see it mentioned in comments yet…
This works with Linecracker.
Stick a Linecracker for 1 turn, target it with bees on the following turn and go face for 80 damage.
Doesn’t work that way overkill only works when YOU attack with the minion it would work for cards like ghazrilla and gurubashi Berserker though since boosts attack when survives dmg. That’s why whenever people see the scalper it gets either smashed with minion or killed with spells. Unless it received rush or charge opponent will not be able to draw till next turn.
you are wrong….
“Overkill” is an ability that activates whenever a card with the keyword deals damage to a character with less Health than the damage dealt during your turn.
It was already confirmed by Peter Whalen on Twitter that the combo works exactly as I said
https://twitter.com/LegendaryFerret/status/1149503025934823429?s=20
It does not need to attack…. only to deal damage during your turn.
Nope. It was confirmed by a dev that BEEEES indeed works with overkill so long as it’s your turn. Therefor Linecracker and other overkill cards do trigger if they kill the bees. This can draw you 6 cards with ticket scalper too!
So it would basically imply since you said it has to be your turn it works with things like Swamp King Dred since he attacks minions you summon on your turn. Which basically means you would see possibility of priest combining scalper with hysteria in one turn. That made more sense because scalper could attack but it also means if another minion attacked scalper it would have same results.
Mechanic working like this will possibly lead to a patch changing overkill since that would mean it’s trigger able on turn 8 and would only require maybe 3 cards to give a bear unstoppable 2 turn kill. Turn 7 line cracker turn 8 healing touch and bees. If you went 2nd this is possible turn 7. There’s not really a single combination in HS that could win the game on Turn 7 with likely just 3 cards from an opponent with full health even an armored up warrior won’t likely have 50 armor on turn 7.
Essentially Shadow Bolt (warlock) with “overkill: summon a 1/1 bee for each excess damage. I know this is not exactly the case, like with Paladin secrets and spell damage buffing Shadow Bolt and not this card, but it is basically a better Shadow Bolt.
Does this work through taunt minions, if so that pretty kinky…
Not bad. Another 4/5. Combo potential, and Druid needs any removal it can get.
You know there’s all these people refferencing Nicholas cage but nobody mentions Henry Winkler poor guy got covered in bees twice.
Will use just to make nic cage cry
Woah, Druid removal. 4/5.
Nicholas Cage should have been part of the artwork for this card.
I hope they reference him in the flavor text.
Oh God this is scary so many cards that can take advantage of minions appearing on the board with basically rush at this target. This card will be amusing in some tavern brawl and or solo fights later possibly. For that I’m referring to using this on the 8/8 Hydra you know which one.
Overall if you have a card out that buffs your other minions on the board it supports this as well.
NOT THE BEEEEESS! AAAAAH! I’M GONNA LOSE MY EYEEEESS AAAAAAAH! *defeated pain*
Jokes aside, it’s technically a better Shadow Bolt as long as you don’t have too many minions. My only issue is that Token Druid is now an even more pain in the butt than he ever is becuase of this card, and he’s going to thrive for more board pressure. So you classes out there best your AoE Out. I may hate losing to Token Druid, but I have to give the rating it deserves. a Solid 4 Stars, and 5 if I was being Generous.
– efficient removal (4 damage for 3)
– Leaves minions behind on overkill
– synergizes with minion summons (knife juggler, dire wolf alpha, etc…)
– synergizes with buff spells (soul of the forest, etc…)
– synergizes with card draw mechanics (acolyte, cult master, etc…)
This card is so flexible, it’s 100% going to be an auto-include in every Druid deck. 5/5 easy. Could be summon 3 bees and would still be good.
You know a rarely ever used card this also works with? Gurubashi Berserker 2/7 if opponent doesn’t kill it or get it down 3 health tag it with this and it will have 14 attack. Not a bad trick for someone that may be just joining the game recently.
Does anyone know if I can summon 4 bees on my opponent’s side of the board, attacking my Acolyte of Pain?
Most likely they will attack your acolyte while on your side of the board, but that is a pretty expensive 6 mana draw 3.
But Mecha’thun druid could be desperate enough.
Warriors don’t put Warpath and Dyn-o-matic in their decks in order to combo them with Acolyte; their primary purpose is a defensive one, but depending on the matchup and board state, sometimes you do want to spend a bunch of mana in order to repeatedly ping your acolyte… which is why I wanted to know whether this card has that added versatility as well.
Anyways, my review of the card: this is much better than Shadowbolt. If you Shadowbolt a Scarlet Crusader, you just ping its divine shield off. BEEEES kills it and gives you two left-over minions. It effortlessly punches through secrets like Get Down, Autodefense Matrix and Freezing Trap. It works like a cheaper Imp-losion against 0-attack minions like totems. If they’re beasts, there might be an added beast synergy. It clears a mountain giant alongside a dire wolf alpha (presumably).
Moderately powerful, moderately versatile. 4/5
Even better – you can summon them on YOUR side of the board to attack your own Acolyte 🙂 You can target any minion (but stuff that summons always summons for you unless specifically stated).
Shadowbolt with… weird synergies. You can use it with Cult Master, Witch’s Cauldron, Flesheating Ghoul, or something like Dire Wolf Alpha. But those are looking pretty clunky. You can use it to get 4 1/1s if you sic ‘em on a 0 attack minion. That might come in handy as a tech option, I guess?
Floop’s Glorious Goop is interesting, but it’s a two card combo that only really lets you deal 4 damage for 0 mana.
How does one forget about knife juggler when presented with a card like this? If it sticks, turn 3 you essentially summon 4 deal 4 damage.
well if the bees kill the target minion it’ll give you an extra mana. But it’s still pretty bad
A removal (like Wrath) + minion swarm. I wonder can you buff bees with e.g. Dire Wolf Alfa? And is this useful anywhere else other than in Token Druid?
