Hope it doesn’t get nerf to a 2/2 weapon or removing the inmune effect… Always nerfing rogue….
Amen brother
They wouldn’t have to constantly nerf rogue if they didn’t give rogue rediculous mechanics all the time. Old Quest, Kingsbane, Lackey spam and now this. If you give people immensely powerfull mechanics that turn out to be too good, you will have to nerf them. Blizzard should either start doing more intensive public testing before completely releasing sets, or start not only nerfing cards regularly, but also buff cards regularly so they can play around with their powerlevel more. If they keep it like now, this will keep happening.
While I agree that this is really good. I’m not totally sold on it. Best case you proc this on turn 5 and equip on turn 6. That means that all you did on turns 2-5 was play burgle minions and that’s not a great way to start out the game.
Best case is actually that you play Blink Fox turn 5 and then you have enough mana to equip.
New spell on curve you can add 2 to hand, blink fox turn 3 and either another 2 cost or a pilfer would finish quest turn 4.
Since you only need to put the cards in your hand this has potential to be completed faster than other quests even possible to complete it turn 3.
This is a very good quest. The requirement is not too steep, and the reward is a ridiculously good. 4/5
As much as i like Spectral Cutlass i’m happy with this quest.
Spectral Cutlass is a good card but very inconsistent a lot of the times. I’ve been waiting for a card like this to replace the 2x Cutlass, 2x Deadly Poison and 1x Raiding Party.
This makes space for at least 4 extra cards in my deck which is great! 2x Pharaoh Cat and 2x Bazaar Mugger. Easy quest completion and easy to control the board in the meanwhile.
Well, i wasn’t expecting gold since the previous Quest we got was bunker buster broken, but come on, i mean is not bad, is just a ok-ish quest that must be play optimaly – at least in my theories – (And it took me around 5 hours of theory crafting for it) to run a thief Rogue deck, mix or without spectral cutlass, don’t mistake my words, this certainly is a weapon 20 times better for removal than a 2/2 with poison, is just too late by the time you get it with out playing in un optimal anti tempo ways, and there is still the trouble of random no sinergy cards briking in your hand, at some points you get the goods and you play another class caards on tempo, and other times i wish i had mountain giants in my deck, there is no middle ground most of the time.
SO, i will see how it goes, i will try to make it work since Rogue is desperate for ways to not die, and we still need to see how better-rogue i mean hunter Quest is.
I give it a 4 out of 5. Even though there will be times you can complete the quest by turn 5 or 6, that won’t happen consistently. So on average this will be an unlimited 3-2 weapon in the late game. That’s definitely good but there’s already two Rogue deck styles that have stronger late games, and Rogue isn’t particularly adept at surviving to the late game in the first place. The other Rogue decks are Spectral Cutlass Rogue and Pogo Bunny Rogue. I really don’t see why this quest in a burgle rogue deck would be stronger than a pogo bunny rogue deck in the late game. Consider that vs control warrior Pogo bunnies spell certain doom, whereas an unlimited 3-2 weapon can be practically negated by their hero power alone. This card is definitely strong but I don’t think it will have a good place until after rotation next year.
Pilfer, pilfer, blinkfox, kobold pirate. That is basically the fastest it could get out but prep or a couple other cards could help get it sooner.
Has the potential to work with Pharaoh Cat… as long as you don’t pull a neutral reborn minion.
This card has huge potential to send rogue to the top of ladder. If this performs the way i think it will in Tempo Rogue, it will be nerfed. 5/5 Rogue card.
0% it gets nerfed or even sees play in the classic Tempo Rogue.
Now THAT! Is a really cool and simple quest for Rouge. A Card that in the long run is going to be an advantage against the more Midrange and Control decks. Now, This has the same issue as let’s say Warrior’s Uldum Quest, where it’ may not see any not see as much play because A card is overshadowing it (Which is Dr.Boom, Mad Genius.) And for Rouge, it’s Spectral Cutless. I feel like that even for someone like Pirate Rouge would consider using the quest, right after they are starting to run out of pirate synergy. And this makes it so that way your constant 3 Damages for free are really going to save your butt from time to time, but because of Spectral Cutless from existing, you may or may not need to wait until next year where you can truly see this card shine in full force. 5 Stars.
Strong but probably better in wild and even still not sure.
The problem with a quest in tempo rogue stays the same: you are starved in the mulligan for good card to have a start and the quest taking 33% of your mulligan really significantly reduce your chance to have such a good start.
3/5 a lots of people will try to make it work but will fail to each above tier 2 in a tempo deck.
Now there might be another kind of deck more late game who will rise on the back to that card.
We can always hope
At a time Odd Rogue was good with only 2/2 weapon. Sure it had the weapon at start (and that was very good) and could not use even cards. This needs to have enough cards to actually get this weapon, but for each of those cards played you will get some (hopefully) good cards. What I like most is that immunity. It does not matter whether your target has 0 or 10 attack, you can do it as long as health is low enough. Good for killing any reborned minion.
What comes to actually getting that quest fulfilled there is many direct and indirect cards and ways to do so. Time will tell if those are fast and good enough to actually make this a thing.
4/5
Play on T4 Shark then on T5 Blink Fox and bounce it back and your Quest is done! Ez clap. Jesse Alexander is happy with this card lmao.
If you want a comparison this quest reward power creeps Shadowblade that was a 3 Mana 3/2 weapon that made you immune the turn you equip. This cost 1 less to equip after get reward and works for all attacks not just the first one.
I don’t like how people stretch the “power creep” term.
Agreed. The comparison with past cards is usually irrelevant.
Closest term could think of yeah it takes a bit of work to access it but this is basically Shadowblade not limited by a battlecry for 1 Mana less after you get it as a hero power.
Cool that it pushes Burgle Rogue, but sad that the quest reward isn’t more fun. All the other quests have cool, value-based rewards that push certain archetypes. This reward is just like…you get a weapon. And it’s good for killing minions and stuff.
you actually generate enough value by stealing cards so you dont need it on the quest and you need tempo thats why the quest well designed
Ah sh*t, here we go again. I don’t want to play Burgle Rogue competitively! I don’t want to win games because I pulled Fireball and I don’t want to lose games because I pulled Shatter! And yet, it seems this is what will happen this expansion 🙁
Don’t you just love getting cards that are worthless. Pull Janalai and it’s a 7 Mana 4/4 do nothing pull any spell dealing with having armor and sit there crying. Just so many bad pulls. Considering every rogue tends to run 4 cards that can give card from another class this is playable by all. Heck I use the one minion to toss more Hench clans into my deck.
Depending on your deck, it’s possible to get cards that are *worse* than worthless – I was experimenting with an OTK Mecha’thun Rogue deck with a couple of “burgle-like” cards – until I got Immortal Prelate, which prevents Mecha’thun’s battlecry from working completely.
… or the game against a Warlock where each Blink Fox gave me Void Contract.
Burgle was a terrible idea in that deck 🙂
That’s why I really prefer the discover cards at least you know what your getting which is why I shuffle more into my deck.
Don’t worry, it doesn’t seem to aim to a competitive point, mostly a tier 2 alternative to tempo rogue, if the gods bless us.
It’s easy to complete but it’s not easy to complete quickly- the only Burgle cards rogue loves to play even with Burgle synergies are Blink Fox and Hench-Clan Burglar, and you aren’t going to draw all the copies of those straight into your hand every game. The payoff of this card seems a lot dicier when you’re either waiting until like T9 to complete it or filling your deck with inefficient Burgle cards (Stolen Steal, Pickpocket, and Bazaar Mugger just ain’t gonna cut it.) The reward is obviously nice but I feel like Rogue will have better endgames and won’t want to sacrifice the quality of her deck in order to run this. Could be wrong though.
What this does do though is give rogue a removing tool for later game with chances that other classes will run weapon breakers this is a great back up for cutlass.
You forgot Pilfer.
he said, “love to play”, and he is right, and you deserve a slap for that comment
I love getting slapped lol 😀
I must inquire, are you a girly mage, or a manly paladin, so i can answer Yeah., or ¡Oh Yeah!
This isn’t so bad for their rogue to use. And for anyone mentioning why you wouldn’t play cutlass instead I’ve had games where I’ve gone 15 cards into the deck without pulling cutlass or the combo to pull it.
Your hero power is pretty much useless while cutlass IS equiped but considering the fact weapon breakers will be appearing more you can’t rely on cutlass NOT getting broken. So overall this is a nice reward that could hold you over till get cutlass or if cutlass gets broken it can be a replacement for clearing. I’m sure this will see some play especially in some of the decks that run the spirit of the shark. Since comboing with the battlecries would fill half of the requirements.
Although not the best reward the requirements are great for rogue and there are synergies as well ( imagine Nether Portal but without the drawback of discarding) plus the best thing is this card doesn’t need a specific deck, getting cards from other classes is steak and potatoes for rogue, definitely see play in any meta deck 5/5
Great card for rogue no doubt and the best quest imo. The easiest to complete imo, and as others already said, you dont even need to run a burglar deck to have this. Sad that I will probably have to retire Spectral Cutlass… I really like that weapon.
But it will be a ton more dificult if youre playing against rogue, thats probably why it requires only 4 cards
Actually druid has most likely the easiest quest of all. 4 turns of ending your turn with at least 1 Mana remaining. I’d rate priest after that you need at least 4 cards to complete this quest for rogue priest just requires healing stuff and that really isn’t that hard silence priest can get dirty with it due to that new restore adjacent minions to full health. And hero power provides progress as well.
Oddly anticlimatic.. 😀 I just don’t really think the weapons quite make the cut though, especially if reborn minions become a thing which they certainly will. This is an insanely good control tool and aggro card in same package but you’re gonna have to hope you complete this by turn 5 which would mean playing a burgle card each turn which is.. not easy. They have to be class cards so things like Pharaoh’s cat and violet haze which would help alot may also do nothing for you, if instead of the crappy Bazaar mugger we got a 4-drop “add two class cards in your hand” it would do great for this quest. Completing this later than turn 5 is really late for an effect like this for Rogue. You’ve lost so much tempo that it’s very hard to get back in game. Rogue lives and dies by tempo and this card makes you lose against every aggro deck and it’s hardly enough to make you win control matchups either.
It’s a really strong card but I’m gonna be honest, it’s not 5/5. I’ll give it a generous 3.5 as sad as it is.
Yabba dabba steal yeet
Is it just me or Togwaggle looks almost exactly like in Daring Escape?
If you run this quest in a standard Tempo Rogue shell with 2x Blink Fox and 2x Hench-Clan Burglar, you can expect to draw all 4 by turn 15 or 20. That is not a practical way of fulfilling this quest. You want at least 4 more ways of adding cards from other classes to your hand, cards like Pilfer, Stolen Steel, Academic Espionage or the new Bazaar Mugger. But then I ask… if you’re running a Thief Rogue deck, why not just use Spectral Cutlass instead of this? Maybe you want both if you’re afraid of weapon removal, I guess. 3/5
Spectral Cutlass isn’t spammable and hero power is. Removal seems kind of common in multiple decks. Cutlass also has the benefit of negating damage when you use your face to hit stuff whereas cutlass needs buffing to out heal incoming damage. We also have 1 cost crappy vanish and shadow step and shark if we really need them I don’t think espionage counts as adding to hand unless you use Taz.
Oh, good point about Academic Espionage. You’re right that Spectral Cutlass also requires Deadly Poison, but the end result is a weapon that performs better both offensively and defensively than these new mirage blades.
Shadowstep and Shark can also help, but Shark can be awkward to hold onto until you have one of a few generation cards to play along with it. Daring Escape is just bad IMO.
You could build a Shark deck with only as few burgle cards as possible, but the more burgle cards you add the more you look like Thief Rogue, and the fewer you add the more inconsistent completing the quest becomes. Completing the quest is easy in a full-on Thief Rogue deck, but I’m not sure there’s a sweet spot where you can still complete the quest early and consistently while keeping burgle cards to a minimum.
Have you actualy played a Cutlass deck? One of the issues of the weapon is that you need to play other class cards to keep durability up. While for this quest you only need to get the 4 cards. Now cutlass might be stronger in the endgame. BUT at arround turn 5-6 the quest reward is better. And should you run a cutlass deck, it’s only 1 card more to put the quest in. Cutlass makes your normal hero power useless anyway, so it’s not like you lose anything on that. But atleast the Mirage blade can eat some weapon removal and you can save the cutlass when you actualy need the healing. Instead of running 2x cutlass you can remove 1 for the quest. The quest is actualy alot more concistent compared to cutlass. XD
I love howyou started with “Have you actualy played a Cutlass deck?”, that applies a lot to people here commenting about dead decks like they are viable.
Looks very easy to complete, and I think the rewards definitely worth. I really like this quest and I really want it to be as good as it sounds. My guess is that it will fit very well into a thief rogue deck, or possibly even the majority of rogue decks. 5 stars.
Easy to include in any Rogue deck. Most prominently Thief Rogue, but it also fits in Tempo, Hooktusk and Pogo Rogue. The reward is great for both Tempo and Control and the requirement is not even to play these cards, but only to add them to your hand.
Quest Rogue is not back as an archetype, it is in every Rogue archetype!
Seems insane compared to other quests. I guess it could only be played in thief rogue, but it still seems quite OP.
Nearly all Rogue decks are currently running Blink Fox and Hench-Clan Burglar. Along with the new Burgle Rush Minion, this is easy to complete in any archetype.
Yeah, I actually agree with you. I guess I wanted to say that if you wanted to finish it reliably quick you could do it in thief rogue.
You don’t even need a dedicated thief rogue deck to play this. you could just do a tempo rogue deck with the burgle package (vendetta, undercity fence, blink fox, hench-clan burglar, the new rush ettin). Yes your turn 1 play is playing this, but you could also save it for combos if you don’t have any burgle cards immediately at hand. And the tempo from that weapon far outstrips what you lose on turn. I’m so excited.
I think you underrestimate its completion condition, it’s not easy to complete this by turn 5, not even on turn 6. That’s very late for class like Rogue. You’re gonna need way more burgle tools if you want to complete this by turn 6-7 in the least. I assume we get more of them so hard to say now but with the tools we have now (Bazaar mugger lol…) it’s not looking too good.

How is this balanced Blizzard?
Removed per user’s request.
That’s true I noticed it too.
Agreed
Very strong, not hard to complete 5/5
