I’m actually kinda skeptical on this one, the problem with a Controladin is that there are no Value tools for Uther, and Holy Wrath Pally doesn’t need the body (it prefers cycling with Flash of Light). Midrange decks usually don’t bother with healing for the sake of healing, the closest counterexample I can think of is Lifedrinker for Quest Shaman.
But the stats/effect are clearly potent for the cost, and there’s a lot of untapped heal synergies (and dragon synergies) for Paladin floating around, so it might find a use.
Yeah, this card is good. But is it good enough to make the cut?
By turn five most paladins wouldn’t have lost eight health yet, as long as they aren’t playing against aggro. So in that case, this would just be a vanilla five mana card.
If you are playing against aggro, this card might as well read spend five mana, restore eight health and do nothing, because an aggro opponent would just ignore this card and go face. Pretty soon your eight health that you just restored would be lost. Honestly, I’d much rather prefer Rotten Applebaum with its taunt ability than this card.
But unlike Applebaum, this card has the dragon tag, an extremely important tag for the duration of this expansion. This card restores more health than Applebaum as well. Also by next year Applebaum will have rotated out to wild.
I mean obviously good. Need to counter the dagerns somehow
Good solid card, great for a lot of Paladin decks. 4.5/5. Also improved Healbot but that was for rogue mostly. Also this is god in arena, think Paladin will definitely go up some tiers.
Paladin has received mech, healing, dragon, reborn, and 1-health synergies for the most recent standard block.
It’s nice to see another combination of at least two of these things.
Like healbot but much better, you can literally run this in any Paladin deck.
Better of the alchmist of priest that was a 4/5 that heal 5 and much better of the 5/5 of paly that you need to win the joust to heal 7
A Dragon that gives Paladin some health. I’m going to be Ignore the Fact of something like Ice Barrier for example and focus more into thinking like Iron Hide, which was 1 Mana. So Amber Watch is giving you a decent 5 Mana Body, along with A Mana and a Half worth of Health. A pretty fair discount for Paladin, and It’ll be nice for some of the more slower paladins out there. 4 Stars. It just feels like another Rotten Applebaum, but faster and for Paladin. Oh and it’s a Dragon. It’s pretty Solid. Paladin likes this card.
Your kinda off trying to use armor related cards because this doesn’t mean same if full health. If want a comparison healing touch is 3 Mana heal for 8.
Wtf this card is insane. 5 mana 4/6 stats alone is very good already not to mention that battlecry.
The heal is interesting as an activator for other paladin cards. If they add more heal synergy in, other than more healing, dragon healadin cold work.
this card is so good that you can run it on its own, any control/combo deck would love to run this on both formats
Wow so basically have dragon healadin which actually makes sense because alot of good dragons are expensive.
So first: this is way better than antique healbot: It has +2/+3, is targeted, and has dragon tribe (more useful than mech). Highlander Paladin, Holy Wrath Paladin, Dragon Paladin, Control Paladin,[maybe] and basically every Paladin archetype will/can use this.
5/5
