Abyssal Wave Additional Information

Abyssal Curse:

Here’s how Abyssal Curses work:

  • The first Abyssal Curse starts at 1 damage.
  • The damage increases by 1 for each subsequent Abyssal Curse applied. So the second curse will deal 2 damage with each tick, the third will deal 3 etc.
  • Each Curse lasts for 2 turns, but the opponent can play it for 2 mana to get rid of it early.
  • 1 tick will always go through since it happens at the start of the turn.

The official English version has been released and it says about the exact same thing, the wording isn’t particularly clearer. I think it works a little like the old Warlock curse card. While this is in your hand it deals damage at the start of your turn, which increases by 1 each time (so 0 the first time), and if you don’t play it it goes away on its own after 2 turns. I also believe that if you get another Abyssal Curse in your opponent’s hand the damage upgrades stack overall, so that one wouldn’t start at 0 damage, cause otherwise we’d be looking at maximum 3 damage per Curse, which is pretty irrelevant.

Looking at it from a mana perspective it’s pretty good, but in practice I don’t think the curse will ever get played, just sit in hand till it disappears. But if they do have to play it for some reason then this card is a 4 mana 4 damage AoE.

I don’t get the point of this card; you add a card to your opponent’s hand to burn next draw? Shadow tag coudl help for a Tamsin’s madness

I think it works like this. it stays in the opponents hand and increases in damage and opponent takes the damage each turn, or they have to play it for 2 mana and have the effect for only two turns.

I don’t think so, because it doesn’t say take damage while is on your hand. As I understand, it does nothing while in your hand except diminish your hand size. If you play it first time, also does nothing, but the other curses that will be added to your hand will damage the player that plays it.

It seems very weird, may be a mistranslation or something.
