Book of Heroes – Jaina Single Player Adventure is Now Out! + Book of Heroes Hearthside Chat

The first part of Book of Heroes is now out. It tells the lore of Jaina Proudmoore (the base Mage Hero). We’ll follow her story through 8 different missions, during which she will go stronger and players will learn more about her. Players will earn one Mage Pack for finishing it (Mage pack contains only Mage cards from the current Standard format – so Year of the Dragon & Phoenix).

Additionally, a Hearthside Chat video on Book of Heroes was released. You can watch it here:

The video says that new Book of Heroes “chapters” will be out roughly every month or so, and it hints that the next one might tell the story of Rexxar (Hunter Hero).

Hmm… the two ladies look just like young Jaina. What a coincidence … 😉

Besides that, this ‘event’ happening right now is very disappointing. Hero skin could’ve (must have!?) been the reward for playing the Solo Adventure imho. And just 1 pack for playing it? I know it’s free content, but still. I have a nagging feeling that some years back in time, you would’ve gotten the Jaina Bundle for free after beating all 8 dungeon ‘bosses’.

Somebody said it in another post – this event feels very monetized.

That’s a little disappointing to hear it will take ~9 months to release the rest of the heroes. Which means likely no new adventure in the next expansion. I actually really enjoyed the dungeon runs like Tombs of Terror, the Dalaran Heist, and Kobolds and Catacombs, even if it wasn’t free. As a f2p player I didn’t have problems holding a decent collection while still buying the adventures with gold, they did give some packs after all.
