If you’re a big Arena fan, you probably know that already. But in case you don’t play much of that format, let me remind you that Year of the Dragon introduced Arena seasons. Instead of it being Standard (or Wild), there will be a certain set of expansions available rotating every 2 months.
And as it happens, the second Arena season starts tomorrow alongside the buff patch. Following expansions will be available:
- Classic
- Basic
- Goblins vs. Gnomes
- The Grand Tournament
- Karazhan
- The Boomsday Project
- Rise of Shadows
It also means that any deck created under the current Arena season will be no longer playable and automatically retired. Which is also a good opportunity to take a slight advantage of that system! When Arena decks are forcefully retired, players get compensated with a free Arena entry ticket, which means that the run is basically refunded. So the best course of action is to start an Arena run now, play until you lose 2 games and then wait until tomorrow. The run will be retired, you will get your rewards AND a free Arena ticket on top of that!
Good luck in the new Arena season, everyone!
I have a stupid question! If I have won 11 games and lose 1 game, I should keep this score and wait refund or continue play and may receive 12th reward?
Tbh it doesn’t really matter much. The most important thing is to have a run started!
If you have enough time, the best way would be to try to go for 12 wins and if you get there, start a new Arena run and play until 2 loses.
The patch should go live in ~24h so there’s still some time, but it depends on whether you feel like starting a new run now just to get a bit more rewards 🙂
Thanks for your advice, it’s really great!
That’s a great tip! I am going to start an arena run today.
