Alkali Layke Is The New Hearthstone Community Manager, Chris Sierra Leaves The Team

While this might not be something important for you guys, since it affects content creators much more than an average Hearthstone fan, we’ve got a new Community Manager in the house! Alkali Layke just announced that she joined Team 5 in that position. If you aren’t familiar with her, she is (or was, I don’t know whether she’ll continue) a Hearthstone streamer and cosplayer. She was also working as a social media manager for team Fade2Karma.

Congratulations Alkali, I’m sure that the position suits you very well!

At the same time, the previous Hearthstone community manager – Chris Sierra – has updated his Twitter bio, which now states that he works for YouTube gaming. As you can probably imagine, it means that he left the Hearthstone team and Blizzard in general.

You might remember him from hosting multiple events, such as card reveal streams and some expansion announcements. I’ve been working with Chris since I took over the site full time (it’s been almost 3 years now) and our partnership was really good, so it’s really sad to see him go. That said, I wish him the best of luck in his new job!

Wonder if this will impact her cosplaying or streaming

She said on Twitter that she will still cosplay! Not sure about streaming, though. Previously people who started working for Blizzard (like Chakki, Gallon or BoarControl) have dropped creating Hearthstone content.
