The only problem that I have with Exodia Mage is just the Early game, and you need to have some sort of body on board, in order to stay alive along enough to withstand aganist the early or Aggro Pressure, Which is why Arcanologist is such an Imporant Card. Even you if you decided to remove Ice Barrier or Explosive Runes for example, you should still play Arcanologist; since it’s still doing a lot of work into helping you reach you goals quicker.
You only have one goal with Exodia Mage: Survive long enough to have 4 (or even 3 sometimes) Sorcerer’s Apprentice on board, along with Archmage Antonidas and a Spell to play with, and you can spam Fireballs to your heart’s content.
