- Arcane Dust Gained: 400 / 1600 (Golden)
- Rarity: Legendary
- Class: Rogue

- Set: Kobolds and Catacombs
- Mechanics: Deathrattle
Idea, You play a couple buffs, the one mana +2 squid-face and one copy of the lifesteal and poison granting spells. Then you play it in control rouge using the card that tutors it and the card that adds a destroyed weapon to your hand. Then your win condition is the death knight because you can play it then play it again shuffling in an extra copy so you can eventually fill your deck with it.
Cavern Shinyfinder and this go hand in hand. Mulligan for Shinyfinder and weapon buffs, and you have a stupid weapon off the jump. Shadowstep and Shadowcast him and you’ll never not have this weapon. I think this could actually work..
I strongly consider that this card will work perfectly with roll the bones and weapon upgrade cards/minions, along side with some good deathrattle cards coming out of KOFT expan.. Looking forward to tryout some crazy decks.
Please don’t disappoint, warrior legendary weapon… BlessRNG
I have bad news…
Lol
I get why ppl think there’s potential for this card but imo it’s overhyped. Mainly since a weapon can only Attack once a turn and the lifesteal effect does not apply in blade flurry. Also it’s quite inconsistent in terms of drawing it not to mention that it takes awhile and other draws for it to be impactful and worthwhile to build a deck around it. A lot of potential, hopefully they release more cards that make this card worthwhile but for now, nothing game changing
Well somehow giving a Wild Pyromancer poisonous applies to it’s aoe, so I dunno about that.
Cause the minion has poisonous and it’s own effect is dealing the damage (the minion does damage. The text on blade flurry could be re-written or understood as “deal X damage to all enemy minions where X is the attack of your weapon, destroy your weapon” your weapon itself doesn’t do any damage, just the spell. In order for blade flurry to work with poisonous or something, it would have to be worded something like “your weapon does damage equal to it’s attack to all enemy minions. destroy your weapon.” or something like that where it explicitly states that the weapon does the damage, in which case I don’t think spell power would work or affect the damage done.
I feel this is pretty fair of an assesment. I love rogue, not the tempo style rogue, but the rogue where you manipulate the game and board to win by playing smart and opportunistic. or through fun combos doing powerful things.
This card gets better with more buff cards to the rogue weapon. there are not really that many cards that buff the rogues weapon damage. there are only 4 weapon damage buffs in the game available to rogue. (5 ish but i dont think the 5th counts).
deadly poison, southsea squidface, naga corsair, and captain greenskin. (5 is kinda spiteful smith but i dont think that counts as an enchantment that is passed onto the card).
that means optimally, you could without duplicating cards or other special things. the best you could make Kingsbane. if you got all those cards off on it. is 12 damage. +4deadly +4squidface +2corsair +1greenskin.
if there were more cards to buff this card it would get reallllyyyyy good. if they had a new tinkers sharpsword oil added to the game, this card gets REDICULOUSLY GOOD
Good tempo card if in opening hand, turn 1 equip, turn 2 keleseth, only in that deck but sometimes it’s hard to find room for hero power, sure it will see a lot of play anyway.
Test
Then, Blizzard should give us the 1 mana Sprit Claw back!
leeching poison meta? what a time to be alive
Just make it poisonus… each time you drow it 3 kils ๐
You know at first glance and first thoughts this card seemed like it would probably be garbage or too slow. Especially due to there being no win condition with it. Then I got to thinking hang on there just might be a win condition in fatiguing your opponent with it. You could still use Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Cold Bloods to do it too. Imagine a deck that can draw your deck consistently, remove any threat and fatigue your opponent. I think we just may have entered into that world with rogue. With having cheap spells to draw deck with Auctioneer and new secret spells to keep you alive/protected and new cards providing extra value(those free spiders). Rogues have enough removal including vanishes, vile spines, and may have blade flurries added back into the mix. On top of poisoning your blade and adding lifesteal to it. You will be able to burn your opponents deck while creating a very powerful weapon that heals you and removes threats consistently. Valeera and (spiders) will allow you to prolong your own fatiguing time frame. All the while having access to a card that provides infinite value during the fatigue stage of the game! (Kingsbane). Meaning once you get to your last card you will theoretically be able to keep redrawing a weapon that removes anything while healing you. I think this card will greatly enhancement to a currently fairly weak archetype of this class (mill rogue) and will be EXTREMELY POWERFUL! Can’t wait to try it out!
wait wait wait guys!!!
I have an idea to build around!
– Buff it somehow (doesn’t need too much buff, maybe 4 is a good base)
– Give it Lifesteal with Leeching Poison (youยดll control board AND lifesteal at the same time)!!!!
– Make some copies with Rummaging Kobold so you can shuffle enough to keep drawing it constantly and controling board, gaining life in the process.
Best to fit in a mill deck, so you can reduce cards in your deck and keep drawing kingsbane and controling board.
Worst part (NEED FIX): How to draw that single weapon, keep buffs in hand and control game all at the same time…. its a challenge.
Mill decks usually go for the kill with coldlight oracles after your opponent reaches fatigue. You’re describing fatigue rogue.
Well if you copy if with cobold is cool… but u can copy it with valeera the hollow EACH time u play it u can play it 2 times and toss into deck extra copy
That seems super powerfull in the late game with mill deck
and ye lets go there how about add to mix grave shambler?
The cost is right for Deadly Poison + Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
More weapon buff spells? if not, it’s garbage.
Way too slow for ALMOST every Rouge deck, but for miracle i see potential ! Hmmmm.. Tricky card…
So I was curious about the clarifications on two things:
First since “It keeps any enchantments” is its own sentence on the card does that mean it keeps enchantments when it gets returned to you hand by doomerang?
Second since it doesn’t actually get destroyed and just returns to your deck will rummaging kobold give you another copy or would his battlecry do nothing because this weapon never really was destroyed?
https://mobile.twitter.com/LegendaryFerret/status/936878094748549120
^ Twitter Link gives all the answers you need.
The enchantment line is its own line; Doomerang keeps the stats on the weapon with the return.
Deathrattles entail that the minion/weapon gets โdestroyedโ in order that the weapon proc, so yes, Rummaging Kobold can return Kingsbane. Itโs the same idea with Malorne and AnubโArak; Nโzoth summons them both (if Iโm not mistaken).
Yeah it keeps its enchantments if bounced by doomerang and you can also get it back with the kobold. However the weapon you get back with the kobold will lose all buffs (so from that point onwards you’ll have 2 weapons going through your deck with different stats).
Taking a second look at this card. Yes the potenal for this card to be really strong is good but its only if you can pull it off turn one or two and get it buffed. Past that its just a one mana 1/3 weapon thats a legendary so you only get one so you might not see it. Now with enough draw and other control cards in the right deck this can become very strong and you will be able to see it multiple times to harass your opponent with, but unless you got the right deck to try to draw this or return a copy of it with Rummaging Kobald if you happen to have played this weapon first. Other then that it could be a tough fight but then again where is hte fun of playing the same old boring decks that everyone else does.
The curve with this card
Turn 1: this
Turn 2: double deadly poison, attack for 5
Turn 3: do whatever, attack for 5
Turn 4: attack for 5, play rummaging kobold and the one that searches a weapon
Turn 5: If at this point you have board control, then equip the 5/3 and give it lifesteal. If not, equip the 1/3 from rummaging and give it poisonous. Attack, attack, attack, hero, search, equip equip…
You can sprinkle the rogue legendary in there to get the rummaging and the searcher back
I absolutely love the aesthetic behind the card. Basically the Sword of Griffyndor in Hearthstone. Also the name just spells out โRogueโs Friendโ. And that card art… I love it.
This mechanic is cool… REALLY cool. Deadly Poison 2x (or even Thistle Tea or Mimic Pod into Deadly Poison, or play 2x with Valeera), Leeching Poison, and Envenom Weapon. Could Blade Flurry see a return now that we have a somewhat-reliable big weapon that will provide BIG AoE board clear and doesnโt have that big of a downside for destruction? Hmm… Possibly… 4-mana still absolutely sucks, but getting a Flamestrike out of it as well as shuffling a 1-mana buffed-up weapon into your deck… Sounds pretty good.
How does this work with Mimic Pod or Thistle Tea if you draw Kingsbane from that? Does it retain buffs for the copy? I reckon it does, but I feel if anyone has experimented with Keleseth > Mimic Pod or Thistle Tea, it should work the same. Also it probably WONโT retain buffs to Valeera DK copy because of how the card works, so rip.
Also something funny you could do is in Mill Rogue, if you have Valeera DK up, Just play 2x Kingsbane, shuffle one to your deck and one on the field. Draw another, play 2. Now 2 get shuffled (because one on field got destroyed), and you can just keep going. Not as good of an infinite loop as, say, Jade Idols or Dead Manโs Hand, but itโs in an archetype that already somewhat works, so idk. OR you get lucky (or you stimulate this chain of events to occur…), upgrade your weapon, then either you hope you get lucky or you mill yourself down to no cards, break your weapon and play either Mimic Pod or Thistle Tea. *If the mechanic works as I imagine*, you get TWO upgraded weapons. From there you just play one after the other, lifestealing and either killing a big dude through Envenom Weapon or smashing your opponentโs face in while staying one card above fatigue.
I love this card. It makes the worse cards from previous expansions (and nerfs *cough*BladeFlurry*cough*) into actually good cards. It alone could revive Mill Rogue with a second win-con, AND could stir up more archetypes in either Weapon Rogue as a whole or a deck dedicated to control and self-Mill, getting the full huge-weapon chain after milling all the way.
After Theorycrafting (and creating a deck that revolves around the card *cough-cough*), I figured that you donโt need to copy if you retain Valeera Hero Power; heck you can use Mimic Pod on other things and still attack with buffed weapon each turn! Iโm kinda slow x3
Thats way to slow to fill your deck with cards with that stuff for a milldeck. But it is intersting that you don’t fatigue if it comes to that against a heavy controldeck.
Whatโs funny is this card prevents you from losing to the Infinite DMH Warrior matchup if you make infinite copies through Valeera the Hollow ๐
If BEFORE COPYING you give it decend stats and lifesteal it can cout as deads man hand BY ITSELF
removal+ infinity value+heal ๐
Well u have no need for any of this just at start of each turn when you out of card go Equip Kingsbane->swing->hero power-> do rest stuff for 7 mana-> pass-> repeat
Yeah, I was kinda going off the assumption that youโll be DK Valeera during the Fatigue-stage, but yes, thatโs true if you either donโt run DK or you donโt want to play her yet to save the stealth and armor. I noted that in my theorycrafted deck a while ago, but yes, I missed that in my comment. Good catch! ๐
This card seems great, but there’s a problem with it, two actually. For one, your shuffling a card into your deck, which will essentially mess up the flow of your deck especially if you have to play alot of weapon buffing spells. And the other problem is that rogue still doesn’t have any great ways of healing health besides a few neutral minions. Unless one of these “enchantments” makes you immune during your turn, this will not see play, and i doubt blizzard would make something like that with shadowblade in the game.
Welll if that wapon gets lifesteal its good enough? ๐
We will have to wait and see
So is keleseth tho and how often do you see keleseth turn 2 or 3 ?
Leeching poison *cough cough
It won’t work, because gl trying to draw this card atleast 2 times to make it work not to mention you have to build a deck around it. If a card needs a deck build around it and is not a win condition is usually bad.
Miracle is drawing the whole deck, there you go.
w8 u think miracle wich fills alot spell slots with wapon bufs? just drow ur entire deck bufing it up and each turn after its last card just equip it smash somethink with it and dagger up so it goes back to deck
Remember what they said about Rogue quest? “wont see any play” “Way to hard to pull off” “insert russian comment here”
Its a 1 mana 1/3 weapon , just putting envenom weapon on this is extremly good its then a 4 mana 1/3 weapon that kill ANY minion (that doesnt have divine shield) perfect controll for rogue.
Lets just go with the meme of playing 2 squidfaces 2 Deadly poisons and Lifeleech poison on it equats to a 9/3 weapon with lifesteal that DOESNT LOSE THOSE BUFFS.
I mean already 2 Deadly poisons are amazing, 5/3 weapon that just shuffles itself ?
This is not an aggro card for that it is way to slow i admit that but who really wants the meta to shift from aggro and tempo ? I think everyone that isnt completely braindead does and this weapon can make Controll rogue viable for once. its even a good card in Miracle rogue since you have a shit ton of draw with your weapon buff spells.
5/5 for Standard
5/5 for Wild
PS: Blade flurry becoming a thing again ? 4 Mana 1-9 dmg Aoe ?
It’s still just 1 card out of 30, so alot of games will be without this weapon. And miracle rogue never really build it’self for weapon use….
So is keleseth and how often do you see that on turn 2 or turn 3 ?
Keleseth works for the whole deck while with this the whole deck has to work for this to be useful.
Even if you draw it on turn 1 you need bufffs.A lot of buffs.
Slow decks without heal , infinite value combo , otk combo belong below tier 2.
In all of these deck suggestions theres no win condition.
In fairness, Kingsbane does provide infinite value at fatigue. Every turn you draw it, swing and then dagger, shuffling it back into your deck.
Having a 5 damage lifesteal poisonous attack every turn and completely ignoring fatigue is nothing to shake a stick at. Especially if you play it in a miracle/mill shell.
Where does the 5 damage lifesteal poison comes from.
You take for granted that every time you play this it you will have the other 3 carss it requires to become a 5 dmg.
It wont happen.Fill your rogue with cards that do nothing and you lose on 5.
I dont think mill has room for x2 2atk buff x2 lifeseal x2 poison and this card.
You dont need 2x of everything. 2x deadly poison is just FINE if youre running auctioneer, and you only need 1 leeching poison and envenom (the latter of which is honestly a meta call and probably unnecessary). The point is that between mills coldlights and Auctioneer, you have enough draw to consistently get through your deck, which should let you land the 3 – 4 relevant buffs on Kingsbane. You dont NEED to have the relevant buffs each time you play this. You just need them at SOME point in the game. Then you never take fatigue damage.
So the point is to draw the whole deck in search of cards to buff this. And then what ? You win by hitting them in the face ? by milling ?
Not going to work guys.
Im sorry but at what point did Rogue had a problem with fatigue.? I see a lot of comments saying you never fatigue.
Miracle rogue is a deck that could draw 10 more cards than the opponent and still couldn’t win.
What makes you think a weapon will change that.Who cares if you fatigue or not.
You will lose because you will be left with only a weapon.Rogue cards do not offer huge value.
It’s like the control hunter they are trying to push,it’s not gonna happen.
And as long as you’re playing squidface, you can play naga Corsair, another pirate. Play 2 of each of those and leeching poison, and you’ve got an 11/3 weapon with lifesteal that shuffles itself back and you can draw it again with the same stats. You can also play greenskin, and get it to a 12/4. A 12/4! If you hadn’t won by that point you’ve certainly won now.
Dane hearthstone will definitely have fun with this in wild using shadowcaster and Brann combos to make a huge kingsbane
Will fatigue rogue be a thing… cuz you can just equip it and break it with your HP and then you’ll never fatigue…
MILL Rogue will be thing xDDD
You can even break it with the death knight hero power because playing the dupe weapon destroys the original, and thatโs pretty cool
It should have “You draw this as your first draw” :DDD
how does it work with Doomerang???
Gives it back, with buffs if it had any. And of course a copy goes into the deck because of deathrattle.
https://twitter.com/LegendaryFerret/status/936878094748549120
Gives it back with buffs, but Doomerang doesn’t kill the weapon, so the deathrattle to shuffle it into the deck won’t trigger.
Probably not.
Yeah, that doest work, because the weapon not actually dying, sad thing than…
Boomrang don’t destroy your weapon, so no deathrattle.
which is good, because you return the weapon with all the bonuses to your hand!
And there is another consideration nobody has said. This card counters your hero power. The benefit of a 1/3 weapon in turn one is worthless if you can get the 1/2 pressing the button. All Rouge weapons have been historically bad cause this, they block your Hero Power
Guess what. You donโt use your hero power… you play minions/buff the weapon. Problem solved.
It would be bad if the weapon costs 2 mana. With this you have another 1-drop you can use. At turn 2 you have a free hero power and you could use one of the new secrets. Or you just upgrade it and play another 1-drop.
Also pretty good with Valeera the Hollow because you have always a weapon without the hero power. At this point the weapon should be at least a 5/3
This card is way too overrated. The fact is, when it dies, it puts it into your DECK, not your hand. So compare this with Elise the Trailblazer, which is a 5 mana 5/5 that shuffles essentially a “2 mana add 5 cards to your hand”, which doesn’t see any play. So a 1 mana 1/3 weapon is about the same power level as a 5 mana 5/5 (compares unfavourably with light’s justice), and you’re forced to run garbage like vampiric poison to make it good??? doesn’t seem worth it at all. Sure with 2 deadly poisons it reshuffles as a 1 mana 5/3 weapon but that’s about as good as 2 mana add 5 cards to your hand and that doesn’t require any support, and elise doesn’t see any play either so i doubt that this rogue weapon will.
Wait what? Elise sees quite some play, especially in some control warlocks and some priests, where the pack can get shadow visioned. Not sure about the weapon tho, never play rouge.
Elise doesn’t see any play? what game have you been playing?
Well that is becaurse Elise is to slow. Its normal use is in priest and warrior where they Can heal and control the board. Warrior Can gide her behind taunt to negate the fact she slow and with priest Will a shadow vision just give you the 2 mana spell right info your hand ready for use. Simply told, you compare the cards to Much here. This new weapon is Way better than Elise if it is in the right deck ofcourse.

Cough insert name of card for rogue that searches a weapon cough
ATTENTION TO ALL NONE ROUGE PLAYER! your are seeing a weopon that wont be removed by ozo and weopon destroyer thing it will be boosted by POISEN LIFE STEAL AND DMG BOOSTS AND HEY IT 1 MANA 1/3 OMG!!
In wild it’s pretty good with buccaneer and Oil, but in standard I don’t think it will see any play in a competitive deck.
The question Trump would ask: can it beat Jade Druid, and can it beat Razakus Priest?
Trump would say Dr. Boom isn’t good enoug.
I love that this is a one drop. that makes it much better then it would be as a 2 or 3 mana card. the fact that one turn two you can make this had 3 or if your luck 5 power is really good. Then give it Lifesteal and eventually poisonous if even better. Then all the other creatures that benifit from it like Bloodsail Raider, Dread Corsair, and even Naga Corsair help it out. then again this is also hoping htat we can play it out turn one. Past that it might be hard to keep your self alive but as long as you save Deadly Poison and Leeching Poison you should be fine to paly this out even later if need be. Jjust make sure you dont throw this at something or you lose all the buffs. Hell even with DK this seems funny becasue you can just keep droping them forever and fill up your deck for a mill deck.
This card won’t create any new deck. Deadly poison, envenom weapon and lifesteal haven’t been used so far because they’re subpar or overcosted. What makes you think the addition of 1 copy of this weapon will change anything? It’s like a nornal 1-3 weapon (unplayable without effect) until you draw it again. So many buff cards for 1 card that you might not even draw or redraw. lol
Keleseth rogue and miracle rogue are still better
Deadly poison is used as a tach card for aggro in tempo rogue
It wont but it can be as a angle for miracle i tried that many times at assassin blade a 5/4 boosted weopon with life steal that can heal you about 20! Bb mages bb damn priest hero card XD
You are The hype killer hahahahaha. I also think is to inconsistent, maybe if it wast legendary and you can run two.. A deck based in a single copy card thar has to be in opening hand AND to be redrawn to be usefull seems inconsistent for competitive play
Seems terrible really.1 mana 1/3 is garbage. Compare it with 1 mana 1/1 and 1/3 weapon Nzoths Mate.So stats are garbage.
What about deathrattle ?
If you losing the deathrattle becomes “you just lost a turn re-drawing this”
So its actually a card usefull only if you win.Even then only if you ve buffed it at least 3 attack.
But even at 1 mana 4/3 buffed does it even matter if are at 6+ mana ? nope
Magma Rager tier card 0/5
Powerful weapon. This card is going to create a new archetype. Maybe even make pirate rogue a thing. :p
How do you deal with this?
you don’t it’s downside is it’s anti value and you have to draw it multiple times, it’s not that amazing.
Does this also work with onyx spellstone i wonder??
It sats deatrattle CARD. Not minion. Do I think so
So also roll the bones will work with it sweet one there ๐
Yes this works for Spellstone. It’s a deathrattle card. Spellstone does not say minion card it says Deathrattle card. So as long as the card has deathrattle when its in your hand and you cast the card it will count. Also the fact that any buffs this gets stay on it seems great.
This is surely the best expansion so far for Rogue! This card is amazing!
*insert a blade flurry joke here*
Lets review this card.
Getting a 1 Mana 1/3 weapon is great. It totally cost effective. Gives lot of value in early game. You can buff it with everything, 2x deadly poison+1 x leeching poison.
So it’s a 5/3 with lifesteal that is like the Paladin DK weapon.
Delays fatigue too every 4th turn.
Or every turn if you attack with it, then hero power to equip the dagger over it and shuffle it into your deck.
This is so good it will create new rouge decks around it.
Good on turn 1, good late in the game, keeps you from milling. Just one buff on this makes it amazing for 1 mana. Imagin a 3/3 poison, lifesteal weapon for 1 mana. Which by the way triggers Luckydo Buckaneer to be a 6 mana 9/9.
Is there any way to get rid of this card? You would have to burn it.
If fatiguing you can equip and hero power to always have a card in your deck.
The list goes on I’m sure
5/5 Will craft.
Does this include enchantments from minions?
thats what i was wondering too. if so it is completely insane. imagine all that durability……….i’d love to get this weapon and see what stuff u can do with it
What enchantments are you thinking about. Like, South Sea squidface will probably work with it, but what are you thinking?
Greenskin is a potential upgrade.
Any buff this weapon recieves it will keep after being destroyed.
I think this card is a response to the “if they nerfed Blade Fury because it limited future weapon development, where are those weapons now” argument.
They messed up blade fury nerf, and this weapon isn’t enough to justify it.
Blade flurry was the worst nerf in history of hs. Worse than warsong commander. Great idea to make a card cost twice as much AND not hit face. Double nerf…and just as oil also went off standard.
Are you sure this isn’t enough?
Basically this weapon cannot be removed and keeps getting stronger for 1 mana.
They tried to justify the blade fury nerf by saying it prevented future design space for future weapons. And for 2 years we saw no such thing.
I’m not saying this isn’t a good card, I’m saying that they really messed up the nerf.
I have a feeling Rogue is gonna be a beast with all those cards.
WEAPON ROOOOOGUE
I wonder how this interacts with Doomerang. When it returns to your hand, do the enhancements stay, or is it only when it’s destroyed?
Since the deathrattle has a special rule for that, sadly I think returning to hand would erase the buffs. Doomerang doesnt destroy the weapon.
God what a garbage card. I wish so much it could go face. Might legitimately be a card then, fill the burst role of old Blade Flurry. As it is it’s just soooo crappy.
what do you mean? it can go face
“Throw your weapon at a minion. It deals it’s damage, then returns to your hand.”
If doomerang could go face, we would have seen another oil rogue type of deck using Shadowblade and Deadly poison.
the weapon keeping the buffs is confirmed to work with Doomerang, by a game designer on twitter
Doomerang usually removes all stuff. And returns to Hand.. this is a deathrattle?! So…
i think with doomerang:
you get one to your hand without buff
you shuffle one to your deck with buffs
Doomerang interaction confirmed by team 5 to return to your hand and keep all buffs. This card will definitely see play since it’s only 1 mana.
Thjhats insane u can refresh wapon for 2 mana with removal
Not saying if you poison it
1/3 wapon poison insane
Doomerang technically doesnโt destroy the weapon, so it returns to hand and NO copy gets shuffled into your deck. But Peter Whalen confirmed it would keep its stats if you use Doomerang (https://mobile.twitter.com/czhihong/status/936866347690049538), so all is good. You also get damage, plus possible lifesteal, plus possible poisonous to kill with Doomerang, so Doomerang is a legitimate card with this weapon ๐
