Mulligans
I present to you:
“The Kelemental Corpse”
This deck consist of a lot of Elemental synergy, Taunt, Windfury and Divine Shield minions.
The cards and why they’re there:
As in any Dr. 2 deck you’re gonna wanna mulligan for him completely and toss everything else away. That is not always correct!
If u are in an fast/aggressive matchup, you should just keep anything that will help you contest the board early on.
The deck is pretty straight forward, and possesses a large amount of significant threats, especially after the Prince has buffed the deck.
Corpsetaker herself is also very intimidating, and especially after the buff. A 4/4 Divine Shield with Taunt and Windfury is nothing i would like to leave up. She must be terrifying for priest! 4 attack, divine shield… I think this deck might be doing quite well against our dear friend Anduin.
Double Lightning Storm is what i have for clearing early trash, so the powerful minions will have do most of the work 🙂
Tar Creeper is as always a superb early Taunt, and Stonehill Defender just brings you more monsters to add for later, so he’s cool.
Remember when u play your Elementals. They often rely on an Elemental being played the previous turn, so this is something to keep in mind. Example: Blazecaller and Servant of Kalimos
Fire Plume Phoenix has a solid body and can deal with threats, and it curves perfectly in to Servant of Kalimos who lets us discover more Elementals, which is neat
Sunwalker This card is just barely under the standard for being included in many decks, but with the fantastic Corpsetaker synergy there was really no question.
Earth Elemental – Also known as “The wall” in some communities, will give your opponent something to think about.
Stormwatcher – This guy is something your opponents is gonna wanna kill immediately. If he sticks to the board and Bonemare lands on it, it’s gonna be massive.
Al'Akir the Windlord – This card is the very root to the idea of putting Corpsetaker in Shaman. He has all the traits in one package and will often deliver the killing blow in a match.
I have tried this and a few other Al’Akir/Corpsetaker decks. I had an easier time against aggro when including Hot Spring Guardian and Tidal Surge. It’s really a taunt deck, I think, and health effects and removal do help get to the end game against fast decks. Also, you’ve got plenty of elementals, so I think Thing From Below may be better than Earth Elemental. The overload effect on Earth Elemental makes it harder to play a Blazecaller or Servant of Kalimos the next turn. Also, I use one Bloodworm to give Corpsetaker lifesteal. I’ve found these changes make the deck faster while also helping get you to the late game.
Great tips 🙂 I totally agree. I have added Thing from below’s for the Earth Elemental myself. If your opponent has an easy removal for the Earth Elemental the setback is too big. Thanks for commenting!
Why no Kalimos?
Good question! I find that the deck suffers a bit against faster aggro decks, so the late game is pretty stuffed already. Give me some feedback if you have tried running Kalimos! Thanks for commenting 🙂
I didn’t have Al’Akir, So I switched him for Kalimos, Primal Lord, and I think the change is much better. Kalimos is a must have for this deck in my opinion
Good point! I felt like the late game is covered already, but i will try running him in a few games 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
Wow! With the elemental synergies, the kele buff and the battlecries (3, 5, 2 damage) and 2 lightning storms you feel like you can take control of ANY board. With good choices from Stonehill and Servant you never feel too far behind. Awesome deck.
Thanks a lot for your comment 🙂 Greatly appreciated!
