Mulligans
General Mulligans
Firefly is the only 1-drop so having this ready to play on turn 1 will give you that slight edge at gaining control of the board.
Pyros is a 2-drop, it is better at late game though due to the deathrattle.
Shimmering Tempest can grant any mage spell from the set, and is a 2-drop. It isnt great and can be swapped for something else.
Arcanologist draws a secret from your deck, this can allow you to play an Ice Barrier or Ice Block on turn 3 if you have nothing else. It is also a decent 2-drop.
Arcane Intellect, although 3 mana, allows you to draw 2 cards which is especially useful if you have nothing else to play.
This elemental deck relies on keeping control of the board until the late game when Frost Lich Jaina can be used to out last most opponents.
Quite a few cards are interchangeable, these being:
– Shimmering Tempest (for Doomsayer; Frost Nova; AoE damage or another elemental)
– Igneous Elemental (for Doomsayer; Frost Nova, for the Doomsayer; or an AoE damage or another elemental)
– 1 Ice Barrier (for another Ice Block)
– Firelands Portal (for an AoE damage; Doomsayer; or Frost Nova)
– Sindragosa (for an elemental; Doomsayer; or Frost Nova)
Reasons behind cards:
– Igneous Elemental:
Igneous Elemental is a 3-drop which can trigger the Steam Surger or drops the 2 Flame Elementals which can be a cheap way of triggering the Steam Surger or Servant of Kalimos if you want to play a spell, AoE effect or Jaina.
– Firelands Portal:
Firelands Portal can be used to get damage on a minion or face and summon a 5-drop which although does have a few awful minions, especially when their battlecries don’t trigger.
– Baron Geddon
When played after Frost Lich Jaina, this card obviously gains lifesteal. The lifesteal effect triggers for any damage by a minion, this means that not only does Baron Geddon have AoE but also heals you. This is incredibly good for if you are on low health and have just played Jaina the turn before to either stay alive or to help stay alive with or without an Ice Block. Some of these situations have taken me from 5 or less health up to 20+.
– Sindragosa:
Sindragosa summons two 0/1 Frozen Champions which grant you a legendary as their deathrattle. The legendary granted can be anything within the set you are playing (standard or wild). Since they also have one health they have a lot of synergy with Jaina (with Death Knight active or not, though the Death Knight will grant you a Water Elemental as well).
Great deck btw and thanks! =) Means more then you know!!!
