Mulligans
So here’s my quest taunt warrior deck that has been quite successful lately, although I would absolutely enjoy having some advice since this deck is really fun to play with !
For those who don’t really know what this deck is, the main goal is to keep aggro away with taunts thus feeding our quest for an explosive late game. As a control oriented deck a lot of cards are tech choices, since playing taunt minions exclusively will not win many games.
Taunt choices
So playing taunts is good, yet many taunts are bad. Here are my choices:
Cornered Sentry : Good to play alongside Mind Control Tech or Brawl. I’ts been pretty good against combo/Control as you can patiently wait to have one of those two cards in hand. Okay most of the time against aggro except rogue, unless played turn 2 followed by Ravaging Ghoul.
Dirty Rat = Not replacable. So good against Rogue to delay Below the caverns quest accomplishment or Mage to take a chance to ruin Archmage Antonidas combo. Playing this in mirror match could be risky depending on what you have in hand, but delaying opponent’s quest is also sort of a win condition.
Alley Armorsmith, Bloodhoof Brave, Stubborn Gastropod: Well these cards sort of speak for themselves: armor factory, nice body and big body sniper.
Tar Lord : Super effective. Most of the time it’s a better Ancient of War. Aggro just loses to this often, and quest rogue needs to put in 2 5/5 minions + weapon attack, giving you time to take control of the board.
Direhorn Hatchling : Very happy to throw in two of these. Delayes fatigue against quest Priest, good body and feeding your deck with huge cheap minions that can be fetched with Curator. Speaking of which:
The Curator: Good stats, fetches Deathwing, Direhorn Hatchling or spawn or Gastropod. Never really disappointed.
Tech choices
Mind Control Tech : Good against most match-ups, and you get to keep the 5/5 stats stolen from rogue.
Grommash Hellscream : Sniping an inconvienient minion is good. Could also just help find lethal if you have your quest completed.
Deathwing : 90% of the time you just win. Usually your opponent wasted hand dealing with your taunts already.
