Midrange Elemental Paladin might be a legitimate deck for higher ranks, and this one while missing the Legendaries is serviceable in the early ladder.
Budget Elemental Hand Buff Paladin Mulligan Guide
Fire Fly, Grimestreet Outfitter, and Hydrologist are your main keeps. If you have Fire Fly, you can consider keeping Smuggler's Run, especially if you have another 1-drop which can help fill in your second turn. Keep Tar Creeper when you think you are against an aggressive deck. You can keep Golakka Crawler against Warrior or Rogue who both likely will be running Pirates. A 4-drop is a possible keep on the coin if you already have a 1 or 2-drop so you can coin it out on three.
If you are against a Control deck then be a bit greedier with Smuggler’s Run. If you aren’t under any initial pressure, you can hold it for an extra turn or two to potentially hit more minions. This is especially the case if you have Grimestreet Outfitter in your hand that you can play on curve. You can then hopefully play Smuggler’s Run and a 2-drop on turn three.
Future Card Replacements for Budget Elemental Hand Buff Paladin
If you really like Paladin you can go ahead and continue with this deck, but I would wait until the meta shakes out more before investing too heavily into it.
- 1x Boulderfist Ogre > Tirion Fordring – Probably the safest craft for Paladin, Tirion on its own is one of the best cards in the game.
- 1x Boulderfist Ogre > Blazecaller – Blazecaller is a great tempo card, and can swing games around if used at the right time. You can just replace both Ogres if you don’t want to craft Tirion.
- 1x Consecration > Wickerflame Burnbristle – Consecration is an iffy inclusion in this deck, you’ll generally just want to clear boards with your buffed minions. However, right now there’s quite a few board flood decks out there and Consecration makes short work of them.
General Replacements
Late game cards were pretty tough to come by which is why Boulderfist Ogre made the list. I would say it’d be pretty difficult to replace much else.
- Loot Hoarder – I changed my mind on Hydrologist, and now Loot Hoarder is the odd man out!
This deck is pure garbage, can’t even get out of rank 20 with this shit deck, don’t waste your dust on this shit
I have been playing HS since the beta and I feel like this is one of the best F2P decks besides Toast’s F2P hunter. I made some new accounts and tried both decks and I found this Paladin deck to be the easiest to climb with. Within 2 days with this deck, I reached Rank 5 with only small replacements. It even works when you still don’t have enough dust to craft the Aldors.
Keep up the good work!
John
Glad you like the deck!
I’ve never found a paladin deck that I enjoy, as I haven’t had Tirion or any good cards to work with. I’m in love with this deck though. Replaced ogre’s with 1 blaze caller and 1 baron. 3 out of 4 wins so far. Baron won me two of them. Thanks for the help!
Nice, glad you like the deck!
Thanks for the deck, i’ve been stuck at rank 15 for a while playing secret mage. Went straight from 15-13. Crafted Tirion after first defeat to replace one of the Boulderfists but haven’t played the deck with him in yet.
Thanks for the deck, I dont have a lot of dust, but I do have Tarim, could I play him in this deck?
Yeah, you could cut a Boulderfist Ogre.
Thank you for providing some solid budged paladin deck. I love playing handbuff paladins and this + elemental mage is exactly what i was looking for as a f2p player.
No problem, happy to help!
can this get to legend if played well?
This deck is simply phenomenal! Climbed from 15 to 11 today with it and a record of 15-2. Changes I made were Tirion and Blazecaller in but not Wickerflame but Ragnaros, Lightlord instead.
Glad it worked for you!
