This week’s Tavern Brawl is “Clockwork Card Dealer – Standard”!

Official Description for Clockwork Card Dealer – Standard
Tinkertown gnomes are testing their prototype card-bot: Optimotron! The card you draw on turn 1 will be a 1-cost card, if you have one. On turn 2, a 2-cost card…
Clockwork Card Dealer – Standard Chalkboard
General Information
- You get one Standard card pack for winning your first game this week.
- It’s the ninth time we see this Brawl in total, and the seventh time we see it in Standard format. Last time we’ve seen it on February 7, 2024.
- It’s a PvP Brawl.
- It’s a build your own deck Brawl.
- The Brawl’s format is Standard.
- You build a regular Standard deck. The only difference is in how drawing cards work. The card you draw on Turn 1 will cost 1 mana, Turn 2 will cost 2 mana etc.
- The effect only applies to the first card you draw every turn. Any effects that draw extra cards can give you cards of any cost.
- If you don’t have a card of a certain cost in your deck, you just draw a random card instead. But if you’re building a deck for the Brawl, you definitely should include a 1-drop, 2-drop, 3-drop etc. so the effect doesn’t get wasted.
Clockwork Card Dealer – Standardย Deck Lists
I think your best bet is to just run meta decks, unfortunately, especially ones that play on the curve. If you want to play the Brawl more you can try min maxing and building a perfect deck, but if you just want a quick pack, playing a Standard meta deck would be your best bet. So, in the current meta, a good idea would be something like Pirate Demon Hunter, Tempo Druid, Aggro/Rainbow Shaman or Pain Warlock. Here’s a list of the featured ladder decks: Hearthstone Standard Ladder Decks. If any specific to this brawl decks come around, I will list them below.
elementals (mage or shaman) seem to be a natural fit for this brawl this time, but i do not see any ways to really abuse the brawl mechanic like it was possible with vanndar, watchpost or bibliomite
I had success (i.e. 5-0) with Aggro self-discard Demon Hunter, as featured in the top standard decks section. The clou is to guarantee a 4th turn Sightless Magistrate (cut Blademaster Okani which is the only other 4 drop) while wasting your hand during turns 1-3 with Bibliomite and Dispose of Evidence. I do not own Kurtrus, but Jace Darkweaver sealed the deal whenever the game ever went to turn 8.
seems like that strategy is still sucsessful in this brawl after 4 months, especially when reinforced by Blindeye Sharpshooter ๐
Given that you use up all your mana with the card that you draw, what do you do with the other cards in your hand? the only way to use them is either by discarding/reshuffling, discounting, or by using zero mana cards. Demon Hunter does all of the above.
1-drops: only one copy of Pelican Diver (or another good 1-drop)
2-drops: only one copy of Doomsayer
3-drops: only one copy of Forensic Duster
4-drops: only Vanndar
8-drops: only one copy of some strong 8-drop (maybe Varian, Mo’arg or some class specific one) + strong 8-cost spells if available
9-drops: only one copy of some strong 9-drop (maybe Alexstrasza, Devourer or some class specific one) + strong 9-cost spells if available
10-drops: only one copy of some strong 10-drop (maybe Onyxia, Denathrius, Jailer or some class specific one) + strong 10-cost spells if available
Rest of the deck are bunch of 5-7 drops (as strong ones as possible) – no spells!!!
Tactic is simple – turns 1-3 are just desruption, you throw your drops and destroy enemy’ ones. Turn 4 is Vanndar, turn 5 your strong 8-drop (because its cost is lowered to 5), turn 6 your 9-drop, turn 7 your 10-drop. If game is not over, at turns 8-10 you have expensive spells or low cost 5-7 drops.
Works with all classes.
Guaranteed T4 Vanndar sure looks like great fun.
Possibly the only way to use that card in a meaningful way.
The idea of Mal’Ganis+The Jailer Turns 6+7 makes me smile
(lock can still be broken with Whirlpool etc.)
Since arbor and some other card are no longer available tried token watch post druid (1: trogg, 2 : post, 3: post, 4: drek& pride’s fury, 5:stormwind guard, 6: Battlemaster, 7: Kargal, 8 prim protector, 9: alex, 10: conv the spirits, rest : 10 mana minions
Best deck for me is: drek thar aggro druid.
You put Trogg as only 1 drop, watchpost as only 2 drop. Then you add a bunch of good 3 drops, such as King Mukla, piggy back imp, injured blade aster. Then drek thar only 4 drop, arbor up only 5 drop. Then you fill your deck with a bunch of spells that coat 6 mana or more.
The strategy is simple, kill your enemy on turn 6 latest
Turn 1: Trogg
Turn 2: Watchpost
Turn 3: 3 drop
Turn 4: drek thar
Turn 5: arbor up
Turn 6: you win or you lost ????
This deck works very well for me, I’m 9:1 so far
Nice, i haven’t an idea for this brawl. Thanks men! ๐
So I kinda tried to make a DR Demon Hunter for this Brawl and it actually worked really well ๐
Decided to add Deathwing cuz it’s just broken if u fall behind on board or if u want to trigger some deathrattles
Here is the code:

Token druid worked just fine for me.
Used this Shark Rogue for fun…
Try Eddie turn 3 to soak up any removal, then spirit of shark followed by Sharkie turn 5. You can give rush to Eddie or Sharkie through your tooth for impact.

It’s a guaranteed Call to Adventure – > Archmage Vargoth -> Prismatic Lens -> Duel! which is the backbone of this deck
This is the fourth time we see this Brawl (second time in Standard). Comments below this one might be outdated!
Miracle druid ! Undefeated
I’ve been testing several decks in this tavern brawl and this Paladin deck has been pretty successful!
http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/grimestreet-secret-paladin-clockwork-card-dealer-standard/
It has some pretty greedy combos but it can get away with it because of Turn 2 Doomsayer. Basically you Faceless Manipulator your Blessing of Kinged Silent Knight for two 6/6 divine shield minions by Turn 5. This is quickly followed up with another 6/6 minion with 5 secrets. By Turn 7 your Grimestreet protector can divine shield your huge minions and can clear up your opponents board.
I built this highlander deck for this brawl.
Is rly strong against all the Barns Decks that only a few large cratures
It is built to stall ๐
This is the game that worked for me very well.
It seems a bit expensive but there rly are ony 3-4 key cards

Looks interesting, but you added Target Dummy which is a Wild card and can’t be used.
http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/708601-clockwork-brawl
Won 16 in a row. Easy to pilot.
Thanks for linking the deck, but we only feature decks that use our deck builder.
Here’s a neat deck I’ve been working on for this Tavern Brawl.
http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/secret-yshaarj-secret-hunter/
It’s a Secret Hunter with Barnes+Y’Shaarj combo and it’s ridiculously OP in my oppinion. Have fun trying it out! ๐
Thanks, added it above!
Neat, thanks! Edited deck name since I typoed word “secret” there twice.
Whoops, apparently it was very secret! I fixed it, thanks.
Just played my miracle rogue, seems fine. Guaranteed pirate start and coins, turn4 pillager, turn5 drake, turn6 acuctioneer… you know. I imagine there should be a lot of priests around since they like to play on curve with the table, and it is a favorable matchup I’d say.
I ran a Reno Priest for the first few rounds and destroyed everything.
Basic idea:
you can fill up slot 1-4 twice because it is guarantied that these cards will be removed at least once
this deck has great board presence from turn 1-5
guaranteed Raza + Reno
turn 7 play a Bomb
turn 8 Medviv
turn 10 gain 2 very strong cards. due to Mind-control + Mediv
every 0 Mana slot card (1 times)
1: 2x Northshir Cleric
2: 2xMana Geode
3: 2x Kabal Talonpries
4: 2x Lightspawn
5: *Raza the Chained*
6: *Reno Jackson*
8: *Medivh, the Guardian*
10: Mind Control
Ok
I encontered a Rouge which playes a 30/30 on turn 4
To counter that one might play Shadow Word: Death insted of Kabal Talonpries
I thint this card is also great in other matchups but it slows down your board control pre Turn 5
I have used Reno warlock, it works really well
C’Thun Decks are really good – good curve, plus you are guaranteed ol’ googly eyes on turn 10.
C’Thun or Deathrattle (N’Zoth) deck go well on this tavern.
Astral Druid is where it’s at.
Running meta decks is nonsense for this brawl, you fill up your deck with 1) every single 0 mana card there is, since they provide free tempo without a disadvantage, the games end before you stop topdecking the best cards possible 2) The perfect cards for each mana slot, it’s incorrect to have more than a single card (two copies of it that is) in a single slot since you want to draw the best possible option each turn 3) The rest of the deck should be filled with useless cards that have a really high manacost so you can make sure that they don’t interfere with your gameplan (giants, 10 mana cards e.t.c.)
In the very first edition of this brawl I had huge success with a faceroll warrior that drew the most efficient damage per card options every turn and won against every single deck save the decks that only ran taunts (that we’re pretty bad unless you were against the said faceroll deck)
You can also try a reno and maybe kazakus deck since you can guarantee their effect on curve
