Shop Update: Battlegrounds Season 9 Pass, New & Returning Skins, Diamond and Signature Bundles, Pack Bundles

Before I start, if you’re interested in Battlegrounds at all, you should go to the shop and claim 4 Battlegrounds Tokens for free!

Another shop update dropped today! And since it coincides with the release of a major patch (31.2 – you can check out the full patch notes here), the update itself is also massive. We’re getting Battlegrounds Season 9 Pass – both in the regular and “plus” versions (plus lets you reroll one Hero per match without spending any Tokens). Then there are lots of new and returning Hero skins, Diamond and Signature bundles. Once again we have a couple of Signature cards available for Gold – this time it’s Fye and Reska (both are good cards and their Signatures look nice in my opinion, but keep in mind that they both rotate out of Standard in ~3 months). And of course lots of other smaller and bigger card pack bundles (including ones tied to the repeat of Wonders format in Twist). Anyway, here are all of the new items that are available this week:

  • 4 Battlegrounds Tokens (Free) – All players can claim 4 Battlegrounds Tokens for free.
  • Battlegrounds Season 9 Pass (1500 Runestones or $15) – New Battlegrounds Season Pass, giving you 4 Hero picks instead of 2 at the start of each game, as well as access to the premium version of the Battlegrounds rewards track with lots of cosmetics.
  • Battlegrounds Season 9 Pass+ (2000 Runestones or $20) – New Battlegrounds Season Pass+, giving you 4 Hero picks instead of 2 at the start of each game, option to reroll a single Hero choice per match for free, as well as access to the premium version of the Battlegrounds rewards track with lots of cosmetics.
  • Tirion Fordring Bundle (2500 Runestones or $25) – New Diamond Paladin skin + 3 Paladin card packs + 2 Golden Standard card packs.
  • Murgulis Bundle (1500 Runestones or $15) – New Tier 1 Demon Hunter skin + Murgulis Card Back + 5 Demon Hunter card packs.
  • Runeplate Aranna Bundle (1000 Runestones or $10) – New Tier 2 Demon Hunter skin + 5 Demon Hunter card packs.
  • Ice Lady Tyrande (1000 Gold or $7) – Returning Tier 2 Priest skin. Originally available from a bundle in December 2021.
  • Ice Lord Malfurion (1000 Gold or $7) – Returning Tier 2 Druid skin. Originally available from a bundle in December 2021.

  • Diamond Velen, Leader of the Exiled Bundle (5000 Runestones or $50) – Diamond Velen, Leader of the Exiled + 2 random Signature Legendary cards from The Great Dark Beyond.
  • Standard Bundle (2000 Runestones or $20) – 20 Standard card packs + 2 Random Standard Legendary cards.
  • Golden Standard Bundle (5000 Runestones or $50) – 10 Golden Standard card packs + 2 Random Standard Signature Legendary cards.
  • Early Wonders Bundle (4000 Runestones or $40) – 20 card packs from Goblins vs Gnomes, The Great Tournament, and Caverns of Time sets + random Signature Legendary card from Caverns of Time.
  • Wonders of the Kraken Bundle (4000 Runestones or $40) – 20 card packs from Whispers of the Old Gods, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, and Caverns of Time sets + random Signature Legendary card from Caverns of Time.
  • Golden Wonders Bundle (4000 Runestones or $40) – 20 Golden Caverns of Time card packs.
  • Tavern Ticket Bundle Refresh (2000 Runestones or $20) – 11 Tavern Tickets (you can use them to start a new Arena run).
  • Tavern Ticket Mega Bundle Refresh (4000 Runestones or $40) – 25 Tavern Tickets (you can use them to start a new Arena run).

Tier 1 skins are “premium” ones while Tier 2 are more basic. In general, Tier 1 skins tend to include more extra features like completely new emotes, Hero Power animations, unique Hero tray, or some extra visual effects. Some of those might also be included in Tier 2 skins, but usually only 1 of those special features is present (if any). It’s not an official classification – it’s just something we use to differentiate between more basic and premium skins! Blizzard has added their own “rarities” for Battlegrounds skins, but they haven’t done it so far for Constructed (other than Diamond & Legendary Heroes).

New items usually stay in the shop for around 1-2 weeks – sometimes it’s longer (3 or more weeks) but I wouldn’t universally count on that, so if you’re interested in one of them, get them soon.

You must use this token/reroll before the start of the next season?

I don’t think the Battlegrounds Tokens expire. At least nothing like that was announced. That would be even more scummy than it already is lol.
