(Updated) Patch 31.0 Known Issues

Update: A few new issues were added since my last update + a small hotfix went live (it’s a client patch so you need to download it).

Patch 31.0 was released yesterday, and Blizzard has already started compiling a list of known issues.

So far there’s nothing gamebreaking, most of the bugs are rather niche. They also temporarily banned a few cards in both Pre-Release Brawl (Raven Idol, Druid of the Claw) and Battlegrounds (Cultist S’Thara, Depraved Felfin, Burth, Raging Contender, Primalfin Portrait, Mirror Monster, and Secret Sinstone) because they were causing some issues.

You can find a full list below:

Patch 31.0 is now live, kicking off the Great Dark Beyond Pre-Release Tavern Brawl and more! As we set off into the unknown, mission control has identified a few issues for us to resolve.

Here are some issues we’re tracking this patch:

  • [Tavern Brawl] Players on the EU and APAC servers were delayed in getting access to the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl. Those issues have now been resolved and those players are cleared to launch!
  • [Tavern Brawl] The pop-up for the Tavern Brawl says that it costs 2 Tickets even the first time you enter it (but the first entry is still free for all players).
  • [In-Game Events] The team is aware of an issue where the Weekly Event Quest did not roll over when expected. We will be extending the event end-date until November 12, 9 a.m. (PT) to give players more time to complete the Event Track. That also means the spooky box decorations will be extended a bit into the launch of The Great Dark Beyond—where no one can hear you scream.
  • [Hearthstone] Orbital cards don’t trigger their “adjacent card played” effects when the adjacent card replaces itself (like the Perils in Paradise Drink spells).
  • [Hearthstone] Titan minions don’t work with Exarch Akama’s effect.
  • [Hearthstone] Ace Wayfinder’s effect doesn’t apply to the next Draenei if triggered by Velen.
  • [Hearthstone] Gravity Lapse doesn’t work as intended with Astral Automatons.
  • [Hearthstone] Doommaiden’s effect returns Cast When Drawn cards at end of turn after they’ve been cast.
  • [Updated 10/30] [Hearthstone] The team is investigating various bugs causing periods of the board becoming uninteractable, including sometimes clicking on the enemy Starship’s UI.
  • [Hearthstone] Druid of the Claw and Raven Idol have been temporarily banned in Standard, Wild, and Tavern Brawl due to a bug. Players whose Tavern Brawl decks are invalidated by this have automatically received 2 Tavern Tickets as compensation; they will need to retire the invalid deck (at which point they will get rewards based on how many wins they have) to start a new run.
  • [Added 10/30] [Hearthstone] The team is aware of a bug where Titan abilities sometimes trigger incorrectly.
  • [Added 10/30] [Hearthstone] Scrapbooking Student sometimes doesn’t work with Galaxy’s Lens.
  • [Edited 10/30] [General] The team is investigating reports of the reconnect sometimes not working and instead leading to concessions. Reports are indicating that closing the client by pressing alt-f4 or the close button in the corner (or swiping the app away on mobile) work fine and that the issue is ONLY when closing the client by pressing Escape or clicking the Gear button to go to the quit button.
  • [Added 10/31] [Battlegrounds] The team is investigating reports of non-responsive clients in Battlegrounds.
  • [Added 10/31] [Hearthstone] If the minion summoned by Moldara’s Spore is transformed, future copies copy the transformed minion.

Battlegrounds Pool Changes

  • Sleeping Sea Glass has been temporarily removed from Duos.

November 4 Update
We’ve launched a client-side hotfix with the following bug fixes and updates. It can be downloaded once available on your device’s storefront (at time of posting, iOS still pending).

  • [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug that caused the board to become un-interactable in various circumstances.
  • [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where playing certain Druid Choose One cards could cause a crash.
  • [Progression] Fixed a bug where some players’ Weekly Event Quest didn’t unlock when it was supposed to. The event (and its spooky Tavern decorations) will be extended for all players until November 12, 9:00 a.m. PST.
