Mulligans

Goal of this deck is to gain tempo with your suite of beast Secrets… Bear TrapCat Trick , and Snake Trap.  Most of these secrets activate once a player has depleted their resources, and often the turn ends and you end up with untouched, hasty beasts (which is the source of the “Tempo”). If you follow up any of your trapped beasts with a sticky beast, your board presence occupies your opponent and they have to spend all their resources (both aggro and control) in order to gain the tempo back.

Your playable beasts are all stickyKindly Grandmother Infested Wolf Savannah Highmane and synergize late game with N'Zoth, The Corruptor to get the edge on control games. 

Hunter staples because of value: Eaglehorn Bow (removal and secret synergy) Animal Companion (great 3 drop beast that doesn’t ruin barnes) Quick Shot (valueeeee)Kill Command Call of the Wild (burst and removal)

A few tech card explanations:

Barnes : the only “miss” is houndmaster, and many of the hits give you tempo as deathrattles.

Scavenging Hyena : very highly debating this one, as I’ve found through testing that he can’t survive to go off, but if he does, it’s gg for you. Might replace with a toad/kings elekk or fiery bat.

Lock and Load : singleton copy for now that plays with Cloaked Huntress  and secrets on turn 5, so that you don’t deplete your hand. Might remove for more consistency.

Starving Buzzard : I like this card! The nerf has made it unplayable for the most part, but I’m finding that playing this with a snake trap ready is a solid play. Also, the deck has 6 beasts that deathrattle out more beasts, so you can often guarantee yourself at least 2 draws from a buzzard. He also eats removal instantly, so if following with highmane, it’s a solid turn 5 drop after trading a wolf.

Houndmaster : great synergy to play on a beast that was summoned due to traps or even a leftover beast from a deathrattle. 

With this deck, your board should never really disappear (especially if you play properly around mass removal and AoE once you know you are playing against control). I often get to turn 8 against aggro no prob for Call of the Wild which often pushes things over the edge. Aggro often has to switch gears from face to board trades, but most players don’t realize how much consistency in board presence to expect from this deck, and then it’s gg. The only danger from aggro is heavy face, in which you have to make smart trades with your life total and your bow.

    Updated this list after much testing…

    removed the inconsistency of hyena (needs haste from a tundra rhino to be viable) and lock n load for 2 fiery bats.

    Also, with a aggro heavy meta that i’m facing, I removed 1 cloaked huntress for 1 defender of argus.
    The reasoning behind this is that the deck has plenty of good 3 drops and the removal of lock n load reduces the need for free secrets. Defender works well with the trap spawned beasts, as they are often left alive for the start of your turn. It’s very seldom you don’t have a board to use defender.

    As I’m seeing less control, I’m noticing I’m almost never playing N’zoth. Thinking of replacing with king crush, which is a great, on curve follow up to call of the wild. Time and testing will tell!

      I would drop the hyena and the lock n load in order to add the consistency of the bats.

      I’ve also been playing knife juggler in place of the hyena, which has been working well

    I would expect the buzzard to be destroyed by spells instead of weapons or minions, but other than that the deck seems nice.

      A buzzard destroyed by a spell is ok. You drew out spot removal on a 3/2 which is most likely followed by a Savannah’s highmane

    Killer deck. going 13-3, lost 2 of them because of miss plays.
