Mulligans
Hey all. Have had a bit of success with this deck and thought I’d post it up with card choice descriptions in hope of improving it. I think it has legit viability in becoming a top tier deck.
Taking a page out of dragon tempo warrior for game playstyle, this deck mixes the low cost aggro side of pally with the lower cost dragons and a few other pally spells to gain the board and keep it till the end.
The new card Steward of Darkshire is the stability that was missing imho. This deck has a rediculous turn 2-3 with the coin if you can go turn 1Argent Squire or Selfless Hero and turn 2-3 Blackwing Technician then Nightbane Templar (or the other way around depending on the matchup. It’s such a tough board to deal with.
Without the coin is where there’s a bit of struggle as the turn 2 drops can be weak depending on the matchup. Faerie Dragon is self explanatory and great against control, but a Argent Protector played after an argent squire doesn’t do much, but it can be a great tempo swing if you shield a dragon later game to make a great trade. I’m thinking of switching one out for a flame juggler or potentially even a knife jugglerdepending on how the meta settles.
The weaponsRallying Blade and Truesilver Champion are what make this similar to dragon tempo. They are two great weapons, one having slight synergy with the build and allow you to take out your opponents board while keeping your board sticky and safe. Tirion Fordring also double as another finishing weapon… i’ll equate him to gromash in the warrior build
single copy of Divine Strength. Unsure about this so far… sometimes good, sometimes a dead card… needs more playtesting…. suggestions?
Singleton copy of Steward of Darkshire is a bate to removal as it gets targeted hard, and combos very well with Nightbane Templar and hero power.
Keeper of Uldaman is such a versatile card that can be used as a pseudo removal against a big taunt or to regain some board by pumping a squire, token or recruit.
singleton copy of Divine Favor is a debateable choice. This deck can go heavy aggro, in which case you need this, or it can go more midrange in which case, this can be a dead card… replacement suggestions? maybe barnes (which has some good hits…Tirion Fordring Steward of Darkshire Argent Squire Selfless Hero…. but also a lot of misses… i feel the math on that doesn’t work great)
Single copy of Avenging Wrath… I’ve enjoyed using this. It follows Azure Drake nicely and acts as a great finisher late game against control when they have no board. But still a debateable choice as it is inconsistent at clearing proper targets if you get behind (maybe consecration for more consistency?)
The dragons Twilight Guardian Azure Drake Blackwing Corruptor Dragon Consort Drakonid Crusher are all self explanatory.
Hope this works for you, and would love some feedback on the debateable cards (Divine Strength Argent Protector Divine Favor Avenging Wrath)
Thanks!
