It’s Tuesday, so it’s time for another shop update! This one is relatively small, but we finally have some skins coming back for Gold. I wish Blizzard was returning them more often, preferably 1-2 old skins in every shop update. Or they could just add some of the older ones for gold permanently. The new pack bundles are also a pretty good deal – you get 1 pack per dollar + two random Legendaries on top of that. However, keep in mind that while those expansions were released quite recently, they will rotate out a year from now, so if you mostly play Standard their value is a bit lower. Here are all of the new items that are available:
- Legends of the Lich King Bundle (2000 Runestones or $20) – 20x March of the Lich King Card Pack + 2x Random MotLK Legendary card.
- Legends of Nathria Bundle (2000 Runestones or $20) – 20x Murder at Castle Nathria Card Pack + 2x Random Nathria Legendary card.
- Firefang Rexxar Hero Skin (700 Runestones or 1000 Gold) – Returning Tier 2 Hunter skin. It was originally available from the Forged in the Barrens Tavern Pass.
- Chef Scabbs Hero Skin (700 Runestones or 1000 Gold) – Returning Tier 2 Rogue skin. It was originally available from the United in Stormwind Tavern Pass.
Tier 1 skins are “premium” ones while Tier 2 are more basic. In general, Tier 1 skins tend to include more extra features like completely new emotes, Hero Power animations, and some extra visual effects. Some of those might be also included in Tier 2 skins, but usually only 1 of those special features is present (if any). It’s not an official classification – it’s just something we use to differentiate between more basic and premium skins!
I hope this test —dipping their toes into the reaction of a Tavern Pass skin returning, since I don’t recall one having returned before now— is successful because if it is we’ll be seeing more past tavern skins and I have my eyes on a certain Tamsin and Aranna one.
