New Warcraft Mobile Game Announced – Arclight Rumble

Blizzard announced a new Warcraft mobile game built from the ground up for mobile devices. You could argue that Hearthstone is the first actual Warcraft mobile game, but it was technically first released on PC and ported to mobile a while after its initial launch.

Arclight Rumble, because that’s how it’s called, looks to be a bit similar to a very popular mobile game Clash Royale – at least when it come to basic mechanics. You build a deck of units (called “minis), each with different powers and “mana cost” (here it’s called “gold”), then you play a game where your gold constantly regenerates and you can use it to summon minis on the map. They take over different structures that give you different bonuses, letting you summon your minis further, towers that attack enemy base/boss or gold nodes that speed up your gold gain. You also pick your main hero (“leader”) who’s physically on the battlefield, but also provides extra passives/skills to aid you in the fight.

The game will feature both PvE campaign and PvP mode.

According to the Twitch streamer Towelliee, the game is set to be released this year (2022).

Loving the clinical description and the tumbleweeds here in the comments, at least comparatively. This is the publisher of Diablo, Starcraft, (World of) Warcraft, Hearthstone and Overwatch announcing a completely new game, and no one really cares.
Justified for me, by this trailer at least.
Seems any hope of an interesting new, actual game of this company is out of the window by now.
