Top Standard & Wild Legend Decks – Fractured in Alterac Valley (+Onyxia’s Lair) Week 12 – February 2022

Onyxia’s Lair has been out for almost two weeks. We already had one Masters Tour and now we’re on the first week of Grandmasters 2022 Season 1. The meta has been mostly figured out, and as I’ve already said last week, Kazakusan turned out to be the card with the most impact (unlike most of the players have predicted). Kazakusan/Spell Druid is one of the most popular decks right now, and Control Warrior with Kazakusan instead of the Captain Galvangar Charge combo is also a solid contender (Onyxian Drake also buffed Control playstyle quite a bit). Questline Rogue got buffed quite substantially thanks to the addition of SI:7 Smuggler – the deck has two more big threats now and an easier time progressing the Questline. Probably the last big meta shift is Questline Hunter becoming pretty viable – it’s hard to say which exact builds will work best in the long run (so far most of the players are successfully running variants of HattriK’s deck) but it’s looking to be a solid T2 deck. So overall, Onyxia’s Lair was solid for a mini-set – maybe not as good as some would have wanted, but it might become more impactful in the future. For example, the new Dragon synergies we got might come into action next Standard year.

Talking about next Standard year, announcements should drop pretty soon. For example, a full Core Set 2022 was announced almost a year ago – on February 25, 2021. Maybe Core Set 2022 will be revealed next week? Then the new Standard year and/or expansion a week after? Hard to say, to be honest, but there are a lot of major announcements ahead and not that much time. If the expansion is set to release early in April (and it probably is), then I would expect everything to be revealed by mid-March at the latest. And then a new reveal season will follow shortly after. A lot of exciting stuff in just a couple of weeks.

Below, you will find a full list of the Legend decks from last week, sorted by the highest placement.

    Kazakusan. Kazakusan everywhere….
This is the only season where I don’t reach even D5 in ranked.
No matter how I played it, someone can counter my deck.
Played Paladin, got crushed with Kazakusan.
Played Druid-Kusan, got crushed with Hyper aggro Hunter.
Played aggro Hunter, got crushed by Control Warrior. This month s*cks.

Meanwhile, Yu-gi-oh Master Duels just goes full frontal attack with generosity and free plays.
A lot of gems was distributed to promote the game, which is now really popular.
I mean, I was hoping with a lot of pressure from other popular CCG, HS can actually lower the price and gives more.

Be honest, when your card game is old, you can’t expect your game to follow its old tradition and keep selling the same thing over and over again. Things have to change, otherwise you’ll lose players over time.

How long have we got the $50, and $80 that only covers 1/3 cards from whole expansions? 6 years?
And the only changes was adding some more trinkets. The same price still applies.
