General Mulligans
Never mulligan Flesh Giants. Neven mulligan Bloodbound Imp. Never mulligan Tour Guide.
Backfire and Runed Mithril Rod are best against Warlock, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Druid, and Demon Hunter.
Touch of the Nathrezim, Animated Broomstick, and Drain Soul are best against Shaman, Hunter and Paladin.
Keep anything against Warrior; it's almost impossible to lose if you don't misplay.
If you like playing two 8/8 giants on turn 4, this is the deck for you.
Hit top 500 Legend before exhaustion set in, this deck tries to do everything a bit faster than the opponent. Play spells cheaper, get mana rebates, complete the quest sooner, get board and get in the red zone earlier, and so forth. Every card is selected for maximum efficiency.
Let me walk you through the least obvious, but one of the most powerful openings going second.
Turn 1) Coin > Bloodbound Imp
Turn2) Darkglare, attack with Bloodbound Imp, (get a mana back) , Tour Guide > Tap (get a mana back), play the quest. If you don’t have Tour Guide, this is still an excellent opener.
You will actually complete the quest faster with this line than if you play turn 1 quest, and more importantly you have an aggressive board to pressure the opponent as well as multiple ticks on your giant discount.
A more standard opening going second follows.
Turn 1) Quest
Turn 2) Coin > Runed Mithril Rod
Turn 3) Draw (1/4 of Runed Mithril Rod), play Backfire (4/4 of Runed Mithril Rod) and with a discounted hand you can go from there.
