Blizzard has just announced that Battlegrounds rating reset will come early next week alongside a “content update”. I suspect that the date will be December 15th, since that’s when the new patch with the promised changes to rewards track is supposed to drop.
Remember that Battlegrounds MMR reset doesn’t get rid of your INTERNAL rating, only the external / visible one. Then you will gain bonus rating for every win to catch up with your actual MMR more quickly. You can learn more about how it works here.
We don’t know anything about the scope of the content update, but Battlegrounds hasn’t seen a major update since Patch 18.6.1 over a month ago. Hopefully something big is coming, like multiple new Heroes and minions (as well as some balance changes).
Since it looks like it’s going to be a big patch, we also hope for some Constructed & Duels changes. The former would fit perfectly right after this weekend’s World Championship, while the latter are long due given how imbalanced some of the classes are (yes, I’m looking at you Demon Hunter & Warlock). Next week should be quite exciting!
???? Heads up, a new Battlegrounds season is just around the corner!
We’ll be resetting all players’ Battlegrounds ratings to 0 early next week to level the playing field for a new content update ???? pic.twitter.com/g1h0CQUOKN
