Thijs was riding the Astral Druid train before Standard hit, and he’s revised the list to include some of the new stuff from Whispers of the Old Gods. The deck contains C'Thun synergy along with Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound which can pull the strong minions from your deck and place them on the board. It’s not going to be a super competitive deck, but it can be a lot of fun while still winning games!

I run a version of this, I honestly think is better. Win rate is sick. I built it more around Y,Shaarj cus even if you dont astral. Turn 8-10 Y’Shaarj that pulls a bog creeper, dark arakkoa or sunwalker wins the game. Also I have Astral Harbinger cus draw is so clutch if you hit the astral.
I am 10-2 in the C’Thun heavy meta that I’m finding around rank 10. You do not want to run into aggro decks with it, so this deck is highly dependent on a control heavy meta. But against C’Thun decks, they don’t punish you for slow starts and you often end up winning by having a greedier end game.
I imagine this deck will not be viable once aggro starts making a showing. It’s surprising absent so far for me.
Is this deck a joke? What’s the point in an unbuffed C’Thun? Ragnaros is probably the most impactful card in this extremely noncompetitive deck.
Because it is buffed. I would also take something else tho.
What do you mean, ‘it is buffed’? There are no cards in this deck that increase the strength of C’Thun, making him a 6/6, which won’t even get it’s measly 6 dmg battlecry anyways if it is auto-pulled by Y’Shaarj.
Dark Arakkoa can buff him up to 12/12, which is not all that great.
You fool. At least bother to notice the 2 Arakkoas. And even without them. The ability to drop a 6/6 that throws out 6 damage on turn 2 is nuts enough in itself. As Thijs has it, it could drop 12 on you on any moment from mid-game onwards.
I watched him play Astral on his stream for a while prior to the Kraken era, and some of the things he’s done here is accommodate the times when you don’t live the Astral dream on an early turn.
Forbidden Ancient is a crucial add, and he chucked the Loot Hoarders for them, so he doesn’t lose any more jousts.
Overall, there is now more flexibility, more taunt, and more consistency.
But hey, you’re the pro, right brah?
Keep it civil please.
wtf why -9?!
