Mulligans
General Mulligans
Dark portal is the single most important card to mulligan as ot tutors and discounts Phaoris for the combo to work.
If you have dark portal, prefer keeping high-cost spells while throwing away low-cost ones to improve your Phaoris board.
Aggro Mulligans
If you haven't drawn Dark Portal, look for early control spells like Dark Skies and Hellfire to buy time for you to find the combo. Twisted knowledge can also help you discover minions to challenge the board or extra control spells.
Sacrificial Pact is excellent against DH, but can be used on the imps generated by Impbalming for healing.
When King Phaoris was revealed, some players played around with Phaoris Paladin, a coin-flip deck that could cheat out a massive board after tutoring a low cost Phaoris from Prismatic Lens while running a deck full of high-cost spells. The deck however was a meme as drawing/mulliganing Phaoris was an instant loss and it had nothing going for it if the Phaoris swing turn got countered.
This deck uses the same tactic, utilizing the new Dark Portal to tutor and discount Phaoris while filling the deck with spells.
Although warlock’s lack of high-cost spells (as Demonbolt and Dark Bargain are rotating out) makes the high-roll less impactful, deck is far more consistent thanks to Plot Twist, which lets you reshuffle Phaoris if you draw him at the wrong time.
The deck also has the secondary gameplan of using Shadow Council to turn your hand of useless spells into overstatted minions to overwhelm the opponent.
I doubt this deck will be competitive, but it will be very fun to highroll with.
