Mulligans

Aggro Mulligans

By turn 5 you can Holy Nova or Heal with Twilight Darkmender and try to play Emperor as soon as you can afford to.

Just a theorycrafting deck which I look forward to try as soon as the expansion hits.

I think the deck is well balanced but farm from a perfect version of C’Thun priest, this list is very minion focused and clearly subject to a lot of changes. I have included a lot of cards from this new expansion just to see which ones turn out to be good, maybe a few here are too much.

MATCHUPS:

VS AGGRO:

Playing against a deck that wants to kill you the fastest way possible is always frustrating. The first 4 turns probably decide the game. Your aim is to play your C’Thun Buffing minions on curve and start fighting for board control and taking the most efficient trades you can find, Forbidden Shaping is a card that will help you fill your curve if you have unlucky draws. I love the flexibility of this card, and I am sure that it will be crucial in many games. Anyways vs aggro, if you manage to stabilize the board, you have plenty of powerful heals in Darkshire Alchemist, Twilight Darkmender, and upgraded hero power from Justicar, which should help you stay out of reach from those dirty aggro shamans. If you reach turn 7 and your C’Thun has at least 10 attack and you happen to have Twin Emperor Vek’lor on your hand he will probably win you the game by himself, very powerful card amazing value and impact in all matchups. Im not expecting this deck to struggle in aggro matchups specially considering the nerfs that are incoming and all the cards that are rotating out from GvG and Naxx.

VS MIDRANGE/CONTROL

Im not sure how good this deck will be for example in Mirror C’Thun matchups, but I am expecting the meta to not slow down that much the first few days everyone will still try to play aggro decks and therefore I favor the decklist towards winning against aggressive matchups. But in a Control matchup I think Auchenai Soulpriest  (Combo with flash heal, upgraded hero power, circle of healing) is going to be as crucial as it ever was and you should be looking to maximise her value, it can now combo with Darkshire Alchemist too to remove 5HP minions (just like with flash heal) which wont be that common now that Loatheb and Belcher are leaving but still its amazing reach. If you are running vs a lot of midrange and control decks, I would consider adding another entomb, but we already have two shadow word death so its just optional. I might also consider experimenting with a Doomcaller if the meta really slows down. And if you are specially running into a LOT of C’Thun decks, I would consider adding Hogger, Doom of Elwynn as he potentially works as a hard counter.

Please leave any comments/suggestions its the first time I publish a deck! 🙂
