iOS 16.4 Updates Not Working, Battlegrounds Duo Queue Issues

Traditionally, we always have some smaller or bigger issues with patch releases. And this time is no different! Community Manager Kaeyoh has reported to problems:

iOS Updates

If you’re an iOS player, you’re out of luck recently – it seems that every patch is breaking something in there. This time, players can’t even install the new update.

The issue should be fixed TODAY (the original post is saying tomorrow, but it was posted around evening Pacific Time yesterday).

If you don’t want to wait, you should still be able to fix it by reinstalling Hearthstone. Uninstall the game, install it once again and it SHOULD work.

However, we’ve heard some reports about this method not working, and we’ve also heard some Android players having similar issues. So we can only hope that it gets better today!

Hey everyone,

We’ve identified an issue with patching up from 16.2.3 to 16.4 on iOS where players will get stuck in an endless update loop.

We are working towards bringing a client patch to fix this issue tomorrow. In the meantime, you can update to 16.4 by uninstalling and reinstalling Hearthstone. Thank you for your patience until then.

Battlegrounds Duo Queues

Before the patch, you were able to queue to a Battlegrounds match with a friend. While you still were playing against him (obviously), you guaranteed that he will be in the same match.

You can theoretically still queue with a friend, but no game will be found. Even worse, you can actually get stuck in search.

No date for the fix was given yet – just an advice to not try to duo queue for the time being.

Hey everyone,

We’re currently investigating a bug that prevents queueing with friends into Battlegrounds matches. While the ability to search for a match with a friend still works, a game will not be found. For now, we advise holding off on duo-queueing to avoid getting stuck in the search.

We’ll share another update as soon as we’ve determined and scheduled a fix.

I play both PC and Mobile.
PC: “your game has been updated”

Mobile: “Please go to the store to update”
    Apple Store: “Open Hearthstone”
    (opens hearthstone)
Mobile: “Please go to the store to update”
    Me: “Sigh”

Hope it gets fixed soon. iOS players are really getting the short end of the stick lately. Every patch comes with some serious issues.
