Literally just a hunter-only Elven Archer. Come on, Blizz.

It gives you a summon for kinfe juggler, and it summons a beast which is a nice sinergy.

Just adding a beast tag to a card is a really lazy way of making a class card, and Elven Archer triggers Knife Juggler as well. It also is unaffected by all “play a minion” effects, and it doesn’t fit into the deathrattle hunter Blizz seems to want us to be building.

But wait, there’s more! It has Beast tag. So you’re trading “Play a minion” effect for the tag…

Blizzard showing their love for the Hunter class =)))))

And don’t forget about Lock & Load synergy. The deck might become viable one day, just needs the right pieces.

Interesting, I was thinking trash but L&L makes this card kind of playable.

The fact that On the Hunt is a spell ALONE provides a myriad of differences: Affected by Counterspell and Spellstealer, and Spell Damage (as has been previously mentioned), and it wouldn’t be touched by Brann like an Elven Archer would be. Also, you can get it from Spellslinger, cast it, and it will trigger Flamewalker and other spell-cast minions. Whether or not it’s an improvement from Elven Archer is debatable, but it’s not “just a hunter-only Elven Archer.”
