- “Yogg-Saron’s Battlecry affects all potential targets, including your own hero.” [Source]
- “Yogg-Saron’s spells are randomly selected from all collectible spells, and one is cast for each spell you’ve played.” [Source]
- “Random effects in Standard will only use cards eligible for Standard play, so Yogg-Saron would only cast Standard spells.” [Source]
- “Yogg-Saron can target himself, but even if he’s destroyed or transformed, the full Battlecry still takes place.” [Source]
- “If a card provides options, such as Raven Idol or Wrath, Yogg-Saron randomly selects one of those options when the spell is cast.” [Source]
- “In a case where one of Yogg-Saron’s spells has no eligible targets, it fizzles.” [Source]
- Will cards that only affect enemy minions target yours instead? “Yogg-Saron follows the rules, so the spells will follow their card text as though your hero cast them.” [Source]
- If you can repeat Yogg-Saron’s Battlecry will it count the spells from the first Battlecry? “Yogg-Saron counts the spells that your hero has cast, so its Battlecry doesn’t contribute to that number.” [Source]
- “Spells cast by Yogg-Saron will NOT buff Mana Wyrm, interact with Archmage Antonidas, trigger Flamewaker, etc.” [Source]
- “Forbidden cards (Forbidden Shaping, Forbidden Flame, and Forbidden Healing) will use any mana you have remaining (normally 0, but more if you’ve reduced Yogg’s mana cost somehow.)” [Source]
- “Secrets can be casted by Yogg-Saron as well and they would go into play as if you casted them.” [Source]
- “Yogg-Saron’s spells count as being cast by Yogg-Saron, so they shouldn’t interact with Trade Prince Gallywix or Lorewalker Cho.” [Source]
- If you Fireball yourself for lethal damage could you then heal yourself? “If the Fireball would do lethal damage, then the rest of the spells stop casting.” [Source]
- If Yogg-Saron casts a spell with Overload you will NOT receive the Overload. [Source]
- Hallazeal the Ascended WILL heal you if damage spells are cast by Yogg-Saron. [Source]

Done, thanks.
So will this card’s spells target stealthed minions? (can I keep my minions safe from targeted spells by casting conceal on all of them beforehand?)
Question: If this casts Renounce Darkness, will your day still be ruined after the battlecry is through?
Can’t wait to find a Trolden episode dedicated to this card lol.
Given a really stupid situation, let’s say a friendly match where you could get away with the stupidity,
Say you and your friend drop Lorewalker cho, trade prince gallywix and proceed to super charge a Yogg Saron, with the help of Bran. Assuming that:
1 the board is empty except for Brann
2 using Gang up, you have refilled your decks to 30 cards
3 both players have no secrets and are at 30 health
How many spells will be cast on average before a player dies?
How many spells will be cast on average before the spells mill you to death?
What is the optimal range (+-3) for killing your opponent without milling to death?
Need to run simulation a lot
http://gbspend.com/YoggSim/
It caps at 50 spells but even with that most of the spells it casts do absolutely nothing, I struggle to get a simulation in which the enemy hero’s health goes below 15.
Also shout-out to UristMasterRace for making the simulation.
So how does this work with combo spells? does it do all combos since you played a card first, or does it not activate any of the combos?
How does it work if he casts a spell with the mechanic combo in it?
The combo will work if you played a card before yogg-saron, which either means he’d need mana cost reduced or you used an innervate in some way
What happens if you manage to play Lock and Load before Yogg-Saron (through Emperor)? Or if Yogg-Saron plays Lock and Load?
I’m guessing nothing, since it says ‘whenever YOU cast a spell’, but it would be good to have this confirmed.
My biggest fear with this card would be over-drawing.
This card casts spells, it does not draw cards
It can cast spells that make you draw though.
I tried the simulator for Yogg-Saron. With 7 minions on the board, Yogg-Saron chose to play DOOM! to begin with (I drew 7 cards with 3 cards on hand = full hand) and he followed up with a lot of spells that drew cards such as Sprint, Arcane Intellect… Ended up drawing like 15 cards (10 spells total), so I feel you on this one! With bad RNG, it may feel like a Fel Reaver that most likely kills itself. However, with good RNG it may win you the game.
So I was messing around with this site’s handy-dandy simulator for yogg saron (and I would love it if the spells randomly chose targets and/or had random minions involved too, if possible), and I got everybody’s favorite Warlock Card, Renounce Darkness. Would Renounce Darkness replace your class specific cards? Or would it only change your Hero Power and whatever Warlock Cards you might have picked up via Nefarian or Thoughtsteal or some such other card stealing ability?
Also I meant to link the simulator and I forgot: http://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/yogg-saron-hopes-end-spell-card-simulator/
The hero power seems to be replaced for sure, but it does say Warlock cards specifically, so I’m guessing it only includes that. I would like a confirmation on this as well though.
when I saw this card… i thought of the control hunter that recasts the secrets/call of the wild a warlock with spell/cho’gall synergy, and the Mage that double flamestrike a the opponents board, but THEN I read the fine text, I was sad. total RNG fest, something you play with friends.
also on a side note, as the old God legends were coming out I wanted to try a 4 old God deck, this one completely obliterated that idea
I’m pretty sure Y’Shaarj made the 4 old golds deck a horrible idea but this disgrace makes it a death sentence.
You can still make the 4 old gods deck, it’s just really sucks
Guys think of the possibilities you can get with this card. Imagine that you are 1 of lethal and then you play yogg-saron first you heal the enemy hero to 30, then you polymorph your entire board and finish it with 5 fireballs, 1 frostbolt and 2 moonfires to your own face which means you have 1 health left straight into conceding. Congralations to all friends who were watching and laughed so hard that they fell on the ground
Dammit I meant 4 fireballs
The laugh I’d have in that situation would be totally worth it 😀
The only thing is: It stops casting once you are dead…
What if it tries to cast a second secret?
If the secret is the same as one in play it will fizzle, if it’s a different secret it will be cast normally. If you have 5 Secrets in play then it will fizzle.
Does he stack with vancleef?
It does not.
Battlecry: Clown fiesta.
The only legend I care about. Truly, the madness bomber.
Maddest woops
Oh,we’ll see this card in Trolden videos a lot.
Control paladin. Equalityx2 Consecx2 Avenging wrathx2. Board Cleared, up to 20 dmg dealt in best case scenarios.(these spells only affect enemies. The problem is you can’t rly tech in heal spells which might suck if you play control pala.
PS: If you manage do this with Brann, you kinda have lethal : D
Nvm I’m dumb it’s from ALL collectible cards. Apologies, this rly is just full rng.
Nvm I’m dumb, it’s from ALL collectible cards, this rly is just full rng, ‘xcuse me.
Maybe even on yourself)
Yeah my idea for the card was that it will choose spells from the pool you played that game, but that would be just way too convenient wouldn’t it? Convenient, bit unfair and OTK heavy, but amazing.
You jusd don’t ger how it works, ypu know…he casts RANDOM spells, you might play paladin and he’ll play Twisting Nether.
I like this God. It’s an awesome minion for casual/fun decks.
Keep in mind that competitive decks is not the only reason people play Hearthstone. Fun and unpredictable cards like this are also necessary, even if they can destroy you.
Could this be combined with hallazeal..?
