Like the card, will play it.
Really, really dislike the art though.

Why the fuck is this rated higher than the hunter explorer? Both are 3 mana 2/3, but since when is lifesteal better than poisonous?

Probably class context – at the time Hunter’s explorer was revealed, people didn’t believe that Dragon Hunter will be playable. Hunter’s Breath was only okay compared to others, the class never played any Dragon synergies be fore. On the other hand, Paladin looks to be one of the “safest” Dragon classes going into Descent of Dragons.

Also, it heavily depends on the meta – Lifesteal can be more useful keyword in Aggro meta. However, I agree that on average, Poisonous is a better keyword than Lifesteal on a 3 mana 2/3 (since 2/3 on 3 trades poorly without it, and with it it can trade up easily).

Yeah, I’d like it better if it had divine shield instead. Maybe even as a 3/1.

The paladin legendary can buff this to be a 5/6 lifesteal and that’s pretty damn great, less so with poisonous. It’s better not to look at a card individually but rather on the context of the most likely meta and the class synergy in general. Lifesteal on this card is probably the strongest keyword they could put on it, divine shield would be great too though.

It would most likely be too strong with DS, even as a 3/1. Paladin has a lot of handbuff potential, and handbuffs combo very well with DS. Plus, as a 3/1, it would be a Scarlet Crusader… with a Dragon tag… that discovers another Dragon. Just too many things going in one card.

Buffs are also nice with Lifesteal, but again, only against Aggro – even if you have a 10/10 Lifesteal, the extra health you’re getting is pointless if you’re at full against Control 🙂

Hunter explorer is Emperor Cobra.. with a Dragon tag…. that discovers another Dragon.

Any cheap card that losses only two stats for discovering a dragon, having life-steal, and having a dragon tag, is good. But it doesn’t have poisonous or spell damage (more useful in early game than life-steal), so it’s more of a midrange dragon, that’s pretty strong…
    4,5/5 🙂

Definitely the worst explorer. Still good, but not as.

Solid explorer, not to mention it is really cute. Probably a worthy inclusion in any midrange or control paladin deck.

Cons: 3 mana 2/3 will be a tempo loss, and the lifesteal won’t matter most games because early game is usually about board control rather than life totals.
Pros: HE’S SOOO CUTE! Look at his pith helmet and little goggles!

    5 out of 5 stars.

Instant 5 Stars. This acts lie a better Stonehill Defender in my opinion.

Simple, boring but effective. 4 stars.

True words. Even in Non-Dragon decks totally legit. I like this izi card design!

Adorable out of 10. The stats are good enough, it’s like a Vulpera Scoundrel with lifesteal as a kicker. Sure to show up in Highlander and Dragon decks. Might be an important card after the rotation, too, since very little card draw/generation has been printed for Paladin this year (only Salhet’s Pride, Call to Adventure, and two token generators).

Yeah this will definitely be in even non dragon decks.
