This would be a good card if it’s discover 3 spells. But it’s random and i think pretty shitty over all. Think of it this way nutrue to draw 3 will likely get you better cards and it doesn’t quite make the cut in the current meta. Tempo mage, well 5 mana loss is pretty anti tempo and again at least one of the 3 spells will probably suck. Freez mage needs consistency.
Well this almost replaces that one 6 mana 6/3 minion that you discover a spell
5 mana*
Not really considering the 6/3 is also a body on the board. You have to think about the trade-offs between board presence and spells. This card however can be good, I’m just giving reasons as to why it won’t replace the 6/3 entirely.
This is better than everyone gives it credit for.
Who’s ready for stupid RNG? Seeing the Trolden vids already of 3 fireballs or pyroblasts.
Or Trolden vids of 3 Cabalist tomes out of one.
Nobody knows the control reno mage here? This card is just op in a renomage, 3 random spells from your hand or from an ethereal.
This is the card renomage was waiting for.
This card will be great for arena. 3 class cards, which are better than average cards, and you get card draw against your opponent.
This card is really bad for constructed. Why would you risk 5 mana for 3 random cards that may not be good. You’ll already have good mage cards in your deck.
It’s a spell. It runs alongside Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Flamewalker, and other spell-sync cards. Sure you don’t get a minion, but if you have good timing you could squeeze really good value out of it (and it’s daughter cards).
This is a really powerful one-of in midrange lists. Even the bad mage spells (which I would consider Pyroblast for high cost and most secrets because of three mana cost+lack of immediate impact) have some sort of disruptive effect on the game state. The value is exponential as you have a decent chance of hitting arcane intellect or another cabalist’s tome and you are almost guaranteed to hit removal. Sphinx’s Revelation without life gain. I won’t be surprised when I see people playing two-of this card as the meta slows. Granted, I am a sucker for value.
The big drawback of this card is that it increases your hand size drastically. The types of decks that want this card will be going for value already. I forsee plenty of situations in which a person won’t/can’t cast this card because it will force a mill on the next turn. Despite all this, when a cards biggest drawback is that it is really powerful it should not be glanced over. It literally says ‘I’m a three for one at worst’ on the card.
An Ethereal Conjurer but you get all the choices but no minion
Play alot of eatheral conjurer and you’ll see what cards you will be getting and if the avarage card is good enough to pay 5 mana for 3 of those avarage cards
Only possible play : Fatigue Decks
Tempo Mage: to slow and why random if you can draw 2 Cards wich fit in your strategy for 2 less mana
Freeze Mage: Not enough Time to spend mostly almost a whole Turn for 3 random cards
fun Mage: For the lolz
